dc.description.abstract	การวิจัยนี้มีจุดมุ่งหมายเพื่อคัดเลือกและรวบรวมรายชื่อวารสารหลักภาษาอังกฤษทางการแพทย์ สำหรับห้องสมุดคณะแพทยศาสตร์โรงพยาบาลรามาธิบดี โดยการศึกษาจากปัญหาทางคลินิกซึ่งถือเป็นข้อสนเทศที่เป็นที่ต้องการของโรงพยาบาล ปัญหาทางคลินิกนี้เป็นปัญหาที่เกิดจากการปฏิบัติงานโดยตรงเป็นปัญหาการเจ็บป่วย การวินิจฉัยและการรักษาซึ่งแพทย์ในโรงพยาบาลประสบอยู่ งานวิจัยเรื่องนี้เป็นการวิจัยเชิงสำรวจและมีวิธีการในการวิจัยดังนี้คือ กำหนดกลุ่มตัวอย่างประชากรซึ่งได้แก่รายชื่อโรคและกลุ่มอาการของโรคประจำปี พ.ศ.2525 โดยคัดเลือกโรคที่สำคัญมาศึกษา 56 โรคจากโรคทั้งหมด 685 โรค ต่อจากนั้นได้ค้นบทความใน Index Medicus ที่มีเนื้อหาเกี่ยวกับโรคทั้ง 56 โรค ย้อนหลัง 3 ปีตั้งแต่ปี ค.ศ.1981-1983 และบันทึกรายชื่อและจำนวนบทความที่ค้นได้ลงในแบบฟอร์มฯ ที่สร้างขึ้น รายชื่อวารสารดังกล่าวจะนำมาจัดอันดับตามความถี่ของบทความในวารสารแต่ละชื่อสำหรับแต่ละโรค แล้วหาค่าที่แสดงความสำคัญของวารสารที่มีเนื้อหาเกี่ยวข้องสัมพันธ์กับโรคที่เกิดขึ้นบ่อยในโรงพยาบาล (ค่า RJDH) และนำค่า RJDH ของวารสารแต่ละชื่อมาหาค่า Ujh ซึ่งเป็นค่าของประโยชน์หรือคุณค่าของวารสารแต่ละชื่อต่อโรงพยาบาล ต่อจากนั้นจึงทำการคัดเลือกรายชื่อวารสารหลักสำหรับห้องสมุดคณะแพทยศาสตร์โรงพยาบาลรามาธิบดี ผลที่ได้จากการวิจัยปรากฏดังนี้คือ จากการค้นบทความวารสารใน Index Medicus ของโรคทั้ง 56 โรคพบว่า มีบทความที่เกี่ยวข้องทั้งสิ้น 32,612 บทความจากวารสารทั้งหมด 1,473 ชื่อในการหาค่า RJDH นั้นได้คัดเลือกมาเฉพาะวารสารที่มีจำนวนความถี่ของบทความสูง 247 ชื่อแรกเท่านั้น ส่วนวารสารชื่อที่มีความถี่ของบทความต่ำกว่านี้ไม่นำเสนอในผลงานวิจัย ผลที่ได้จากการหาค่า RJDH ของวารสารแต่ละชื่อในแต่ละโรคได้นำมารวมเป็นค่า Ujh และจากค่า Ujh ของวารสารทั้ง 247 ชื่อ ดังกล่าวได้นำมาเกณฑ์ค่าเฉลี่ย เพื่อคัดเลือกวารสารหลักสำหรับห้องสมุดคณะแพทยศาสตร์โรงพยาบาลรามาธิบดี ซึ่งปรากฏว่าได้รายชื่อวารสารหลักตั้งต้น 81 ชื่อ วารสารหลักที่คัดเลือกนี้ครอบคลุมทั้งวารสารที่เป็นประโยชน์และมีคุณค่าโดยส่วนรวมต่อโรงพยาบาลรามาธิบดี วารสารหลักทางการแพทย์ทั่วไป และวารสารหลักทางการแพทย์เฉพาะทาง ผลของการวิจัยทำให้รายชื่อวารสารหลักสำหรับห้องสมุดคณะแพทยศาสตร์โรงพยาบาลรามาธิบดีโดยตรง รวมทั้งเป็นแนวทางสำหรับห้องสมุดโรงพยาบาลแห่งอื่น ๆ และห้องสมุดเฉพาะสาขาวิชาต่าง ๆ ในการใช้ขั้นตอนของงานวิจัยนี้ไปพิจารณาคัดเลือกวารสารหลักให้เหมาะสมกับห้องสมุดแต่ละแห่งต่อไป
dc.description.abstractalternative	This research aims at selecting and compiling the medical core journals in English for the Faculty of Medicine Library, Ramathibodi Hospital through the studies of significant clinical problems which represent the needed information of the hospital. Survey research method is used in this thesis. A sample group of population is determined. It consists of lists of diseases and their symptoms which appeared in 1982. Out of 865 diseases, 56 significant ones are selected for study. Articles concerning these diseases cited in 1981-1983 Index Medicus are searched. The journal titles and numbers of articles searched are recorded in a form used for this research. The journal titles are ranked according to the frequency of the articles published in each journal for each disease. The value of the relevance of each journal to the disease or its diagnostic conditions in the hospital (RJDH) is calculated. The RJDH obtained from each journal will indicate the utility of a journal to the hospital (Ujh). Then the core journal list can be compiled for final selection for the Faculty of Medicine Library, Ramathibodi Hospital. The research results are as follow. The search of the journal articles relevant to the 56 diseases results in a total of 32,612 related articles from 1,473 journals. The calculating the value of RJDH, only the first 247 articles with high frequency are selected. The Ujh of the 247 journals generates the average value for identifying the core journals for the Library which finally result in 81 titles. The selected journals cover all the journals pertinent to the Hospital in both utility and quality and include also both medical and specialized subjects. The outcome of this research can originate the methodology of core journal selection for the Faculty of Medicine Library, Ramathibodi Hospital. This system may be applicable in other hospital libraries including special libraries rendering services in various subject fields.
