dc.description.abstract	การศึกษาต้นทุนและผลตอบแทนของการปลูกแตงเทศในเขตภาคเหนือของประเทศไทย โดยการสัมภาษณ์เกษตรกรผู้ปลูกแตงเทศที่ใช้พลาสติกคลุมแปลงแบบปักค้าง 10 ราย ใช้ฟางคลุมแปลงแบบปักค้าง 50 ราย และใช้ฟางคลุมแปลงแบบปล่อยเลื้อยบนดิน 3 ราย ระหว่างเดือนกุมภาพันธ์-กรกฎาคม 2531 ผลการศึกษาพบว่า การปลูกแตงเทศโดยใช้พลาสติกคลุมแปลงแบบปักค้าง มีต้นทุนเฉลี่ยไร่ละ 30,924.52 บาท ฟางคลุมแปลงแบบปักค้าง มีต้นทุนเฉลี่ยไร่ละ 17,826.08 บาท และฟางคลุมแปลงแบบปล่อยเลื้อยบนดินเฉลี่ยไร่ละ 9,289.03 บาท จากการวิเคราะห์ผลตอบแทนของการปลูกแตงเทศในเขตภาคเหนือของประเทศไทย สรุปได้ว่า อัตราผลตอบแทนต่อรายได้รวมของแตงเทศที่ปลูกโดยใช้พลาสติกคุลมแปลงแบบปักค้างเท่ากับ 0.70 ใช้ฟางคลุมแปลงแบบปักค้างเท่ากับ 0.38 และใช้ฟางคลุมแปลงแบบปล่อยเลื้อยบนดินเท่ากับ 0.34 ตามลำดับ ส่วนอัตราผลตอบแทนต่อต้นทุนการปลูกแตงเทศที่ปลูกโดยใช้พลาสติกคลุมแปลงแบบปักค้างร้อยละ 236.81 ใช้ฟางคลุมแปลงแบบปักค้างร้อยละ 61.89 และใช้ฟางคลุมแปลงแบบปล่อยเลื้อยบนดินร้อยละ 59.86 ตามลำดับ จะเห็นว่า การปลูกแตงเทศโดยใช้พลาสติกคลุมแปลงแบบปักค้าง ฟางคลุมแปลงแบบปักค้าง และฟางคลุมแปลงแบบปล่อยเลื้อยบนดินมีผลตอบแทนต่อต้นทุนการปลูกในอัตราที่สูงกว่าร้อยละ 50 โดยแตงเทศที่ปลูกโดยใช้พลาสติกคลุมแปลงมีผลตอบแทนสูงสุด เนื่องจากผลผลิตที่ได้มีคุณภาพสูง ปัญหาที่เกษตรกรประสบมากคือ การระบาดของโรคพืช และการขาดความรู้ในด้านการป้องกันและจำกัดศัตรูพืช อันเป็นเหตุทำให้ต้นทุนการปลูกสูงขึ้น ได้ผลผลิตในเกณฑ์ต่ำ ทำให้มีรายได้ต่ำไปด้วย	-
dc.description.abstractalternative	The cost and return on investment of muskmelon production in the Northern Region of Thailand during February-July 1988 were investigated from 10 growers who used plastic mulching with staking, 50 growers who used straw mulching with staking and 3 growers who used straw mulching without staking. The result of the study shows that the average cost of production of muskmelon by plastic mulching with staking, straw mulching with staking and straw mulching without staking are about 30,924.52, 17,826.08 and 9,289.03 Baht per rai respectively. An analysis of rate of return on investment can be summarized as follows : the profit margin on revenue of the muskmelon production by plastic mulching with staking, straw mulching with staking and straw mulching without staking was 0.70, 0.38 and 0.34 respectively. While the profit margin on cost of production of muskmelon production by plastic mulching with staking, straw mulching with staking and straw mulching without staking was 236.81%m 61.89% and 59.86% respectively. It could be concluded that the muskmelon production by plastic mulching with staking, straw mulching with staking and straw mulching without staking yield a return of more than 50% on cost of production and muskmelon production using plastic mulching with staking yields the highest quality and return. The major problems presently faced by farmers are plant's disease and inadequate knowledge of pest control which cause higher costs, low average in the productivity and subsequently low income.	-
