| Abstract: | เปรียบเทียบความสามารถในการอ่านเพื่อความเข้าใจภาษาอังกฤษของนักศึกษาคณะ วิศวกรรมศาสตร์ ชั้นปีที่ 1 สถาบันเทคโนโลยีพระจอมเกล้า ที่อ่านเรื่องที่มีลักษณะเป็นภาษาอังกฤษทั่วไปและภาษาอังกฤษเพื่อวัตถุ ประสงค์เฉพาะ เปรียบเทียบความสามารถในการอ่านเพื่อความเข้าใจภาษาอังกฤษของนักศึกษาที่ทำ แบบสอบวัดความสามารถในการอ่านเพื่อความเข้าใจภาษาอังกฤษที่เขียนข้อคำถาม เป็นภาษาอังกฤษและที่เขียนข้อคำถามเป็นภาษาไทย และวิเคราะห์ปฏิสัมพันธ์ระหว่างลักษณะของเรื่องที่อ่านกับภาษาที่ใช้ในแบบ สอบที่มีต่อความสามารถในการอ่านเพื่อความเข้าใจภาษาอังกฤษของนักศึกษา ตัวอย่างประชากรที่ใช้ในการวิจัยคือ นักศึกษาคณะวิศวกรรมศาสตร์ชั้นปีที่ 1 ซึ่งกำลังศึกษาอยู่ในภาคปลาย ปีการศึกษา 2540 จำนวน 4 กลุ่ม กลุ่มละ 58 คน ที่มีความสามารถทางภาษาอังกฤษและความสามารถในการอ่านเพื่อความเข้าใจภาษาไทย ไม่แตกต่างกัน กำหนดให้กลุ่มที่ 1 ทำแบบสอบวัดความสามารถในการอ่านเพื่อความเข้าใจภาษาอังกฤษทั่วไป ที่เขียนข้อคำถามเป็นภาษาอังกฤษ กลุ่มที่ 2 ทำแบบสอบวัดความสามารถในการอ่านเพื่อความเข้าใจภาษาอังกฤษเพื่อวัตถุประสงค์ เฉพาะ ที่เขียนข้อคำถามเป็นภาษาอังกฤษ กลุ่มที่ 3 ทำแบบสอบวัดความสามารถในการอ่านเพื่อความเข้าใจภาษาอังกฤษทั่วไป ที่เขียนข้อคำถามเป็นภาษาไทย และกลุ่มที่ 4 ทำแบบสอบวัดความสามารถในการอ่านเพื่อความเข้าใจภาษาอังกฤษเพื่อวัตถุประสงค์ เฉพาะที่เขียนข้อคำถามเป็นภาษาไทย แล้วนำคะแนนที่ได้มาวิเคราะห์ตามวิธีการทางสถิติ โดยการหาค่ามัชฌิมเลขคณิต ค่าส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน วิเคราะห์ความแปรปรวนแบบ 2 ทาง และเปรียบเทียบคะแนนเป็นรายคู่โดยการทดสอบค่าทีแล้วนำเสนอในรูปตารางประกอบ ความเรียง ผลการวิจัยสรุปได้ดังนี้ 1. นักศึกษาที่อ่านเรื่องที่มีลักษณะเป็นภาษาอังกฤษเพื่อวัตถุประสงค์เฉพาะมี ความสามารถในการอ่านเพื่อความเข้าใจภาษาอังกฤษสูงกว่านักศึกษาที่อ่านเรื่อง ที่มีลักษณะเป็นภาษาอังกฤษทั่วไปอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05 2. นักศึกษาที่ทำแบบสอบวัดความสามารถในการอ่านเพื่อความเข้าใจภาษาอังกฤษที่ เขียนข้อคำถามเป็นภาษาไทยมีความสามารถในการอ่านเพื่อความเข้าใจภาษาอังกฤษ สูงกว่านักศึกษาที่ทำแบบสอบวัดความสามารถในการอ่านเพื่อความเข้าใจภาษา อังกฤษที่เขียนข้อคำถามเป็นภาษาอังกฤษอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ 0.5 3. ไม่มีปฏิสัมพันธ์ระหว่างลักษณะของเรื่องที่อ่านกับภาษาที่ใช้ในแบบสอบถามที่มีต่อความสามารถในการอ่านเพื่อความเข้าใจภาษาอังกฤษอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ 0.5 |
| Other Abstract: | Compare the ability in English reading comprehension of first year students in the Faculty of Engineering, King Mongkut Institute of Technology, who read general English and English for specific purpose passages, compare the ability in English reading comprehension of students who took the tests written questions in English and the tests written questions in Thai, and to analyze the interaction between types of reading and language used in tests on the ability in English reading comprehension of students. The samples of this research were 4 groups of first year students in the Faculty of Engineering studying in the second semester of the academic year 1997, which were no statistically significant difference in the English ability and Thai reading comprehension. There were 58 students in each group. The first group was tested by using the general English reading comprehension test written questions in English, the second group was tested by using the English for specific purpose reading comprehension test written questions in English, the third group was tested by using the general English reading comprehension test written questions in Thai and the fourth group was tested by using the English for specific purpose reading comprehension test written questions in Thai. The data obtained were statistically analyzed by means of arithmetic mean, standard deviation, two-way classification analysis of variance and pairwise comparison by t-test and presented in tables with descriptions. The results of the study were as follows : 1. The students who read English for specific purposes passages had the ability in English reading comprehension higher than those who read general English passages at the .05 level of significance. 2. The students who took the tests written questions in Thai had the ability in English reading comprehension higher than those who took the tests written question in English at the .05 level of significance. 3. There was no statistically significant interaction between types of reading and language used in tests on the ability in English reading comprehension of students at the .05 level. |
