Abstract:	พระราชหัตถเลขาในรูปแบบต่าง ๆ ของรัชกาลที่ 4 เป็นผลงานที่มีค่าแก่ผู้อ่านหลายอย่าง ที่เห็นได้เด่นชัดที่สุดคือความรู้เรื่องโบราณที่ไม่มีผู้เขียนบันทึกไว้ เป็นแต่อ้างถึง แต่หาคำอธิบายที่เป็นหลักฐานแน่นอนไม่ได้ เช่น คำอธิบายเกี่ยวกับการเรียกเนื้อเงินและเนื้อทอง เป็นต้น นอกจากนี้ยังมีความรู้ในด้านต่างๆ อีกมากการนำเรื่องนี้มาเขียนจึงเท่ากับเป็นการแนะนำให้ผู้อ่านได้สัมผัสกับหนังสือดีมีประโยชน์ที่เรามักจะมองข้ามกันไป
Other Abstract:	King Rama IV’s letters are a priceless source of information for any reader, especially of information about the past which is often referred to but not really recorded anywhere, for example, information about terms for different kinds of gold and silver. This article is meant to introduce the readers to this rich source of information.
