| Abstract: | ศึกษาลักษณะทางกายภาพ เศรษฐกิจและสังคม ของพื้นที่ย่านถนนข้าวสารในส่วนของพื้นที่โล่งว่างที่ใช้เพื่อการพาณิชย์ โดยทำการประมวลลักษณะทางกายภาพในเชิงสัณฐานของพื้นที่โล่งว่างเพื่อการพาณิชย์ต่างๆ และการศึกษาภาคสนามในรายละเอียดของรูปแบบกิจกรรม/การใช้พื้นที่ของคนเดินเท้า เพื่อวิเคราะห์ศักยภาพ และปัญหาของพื้นที่ และสรุปเป็นแนวทางพัฒนาด้านกายภาพของพื้นที่โล่งว่างเพื่อการพาณิชย์ภายในย่านฯ ต่อไป ผลการศึกษาพบว่า ถึงแม้ว่าพื้นที่โล่งว่างภายในย่านฯ จะมีความซับซ้อนและเป็นระบบที่เข้าใจยาก และมีการใช้งานแตกต่างกันไปตามตำแหน่งที่ตั้งพื้นที่ฯ ภายในย่านฯ แต่ก็สามารถถูกจัดหมวดหมู่ตามลักษณะเชิงสัณฐานทางกายภาพต่างๆ ทั้งลักษณะสัญจรเข้าถึง / ลักษณะการปิดล้อมของอาคาร / ลักษณะการเปลี่ยนระดับพื้นที่ภายใน ตลอดจนลักษณะสามมิติของพื้นที่ โดยลักษณะทางกายภาพที่แตกต่างหลากหลายของแต่ละพื้นที่เหล่านี้ พบว่าส่งผลโดยตรงต่อปรูปแบบการใช้พื้นที่ของคนเดินเท้าในพื้นที่โล่งว่างต่างๆ เหล่านั้นจากการศึกษาภาคสนาม ทั้งอัตราการสัญจรเพื่อผ่านและเข้าถึง การเลือกเส้นทางนิยมสัญจร และการจับจองพื้นที่เพื่อทำกิจกรรม นอกจากนี้ ลักษณะหลากหลายทางกายภาพนั้น ยังส่งผลถึงประเภท เวลา และกิจกรรมของผู้เข้าใช้พื้นที่ซึ่งเป็นคนเดินเท้าด้วย ทำให้พื้นที่โล่งว่างเพื่อการพาณิชย์ในบางบริเวณเป็นพื้นที่ที่มีชีวิตชีวากล่าวคือ มีผู้เข้าใช้อย่างหลากหลายประเภท หลากหลายเวลา และมีวัตถุประสงค์ของการใช้อย่างหลายหลายในขณะที่บางพื้นที่เป็นบริเวณที่ "เงียบ" กว่า กล่าวคือมีผู้เข้าใช้เพียงประเภทเดียว เฉพาะบางช่วงเวลา และทำกิจกรรมประเภทเดียวเท่านั้น จากผลการวิเคราะห์ดังกล่าว ทำให้สามารถสรุปตรรกะทางกายภาพบางประการของพื้นที่โล่งว่างเพื่อการพาณิชย์ที่มีชีวิตชีวา เพื่อนำมาเป็นแนวทางในการพัฒนาปรับปรุงพื้นที่อื่นๆ ที่ยังไม่ประสบความสำเร็จให้ดีขึ้นได้ เพื่อยังประโยชน์สูงสุดในแง่ของการพาณิชยกรรม ในขณะที่มีความสมดุลกับการใช้พื้นที่ของชุมชนเก่าโดยรอบ โดยนำเสนอในรูปของแบบการพัฒนาปรับปรุงทางกายภาพของย่านถนนข้าวสารในภาพรวม และพื้นที่โล่งว่าง 8 พื้นที่ที่เลือกมาเป็นกรณีตัวอย่างในระดับย่อย สุดท้าย การศึกษาได้เสนอแนวทางการนำไปปฏิบัติลำดับการพัฒนาพื้นที่ ตลอดจนข้อเสนอแนะไปในประเด็นต่าง ๆ ที่เกี่ยวข้อง เพื่อใช้เป็นแนวทางพัฒนาทางกายภาพที่สามารถประยุกต์ใช้กับพื้นที่อื่นที่ใกล้เคียงต่อไป |
| Other Abstract: | To study the spatial and socio-economic characteristics of Khaosan Road area especially its commercial open spaces. By synthesizing their morphological properties and field studying their activity and space use patterns, the area's potentials and problems will be analyzed and summarized as spatial development guidelines for commercial open spaces in the area. The results show although open spaces in the area are spatially complicated and unintelligible with their distinctive types of use due to their specific locations, they can be well categorized in terms of levels of accessibility / enclosure / elevation change and three-dimensionality. The varied combination of these spatial properties have been found to directly affect pedestrians' use patterns in the field observation. Varied space use patterns include pedestrian movement rates, movement traces, static activity including types of space user, activity and times of use. These idiosyncratic spatial properties create some very vibrant and lively commercial open spaces whereby mixed types of people, times of use and activities are evident and some other 'quieter' areas whereby only single type of user, sparse times of use and single activity are found. From such analytical results, some spatial logics of the successful commercial open spaces. Are established and used as guidelines to redesign some other quiet areas in order to achieve the highest commercial purposes while still balancing the uses of surrounding local communities. The guidelines are suggested in a form of design plans for Khaosan Road area as a whole and for 8 case study areas in a more local level. At the end, the study suggests implementation guidelines, order of development including necessary recommendations in related issues in order to establish spatial development guidelines to apply in other similar cases. |
