dc.description.abstract	บทความนี้มุ่งวิเคราะห์กระบวนการยืมคำและการบัญญัติศัพท์ในสังคมไทยในสมัยรัตนโกสินทร์ ตั้งแต่สังคมไทยเริ่มปรับเปลี่ยนเป็นสังคมสมัยใหม่ตามโลกตะวันตกจนถึงปัจจุบัน ข้อมูลที่ใช้ในการวิเคราะห์ได้มาจากบทความวิชาการในหนังสือพิมพ์ วารสาร และหนังสือบัญญัติศัพท์ ซึ่งสุ่มตัวอย่างตามช่วงเวลา 5 สมัยแบ่งตามเหตุการณ์สำคัญทางประวัติศาสตร์คือ สมัยก่อนปรับเปลี่ยนเป็นสมัยใหม่ สมัยรุ่งอรุณของการปรับเปลี่ยนเป็นสมัยใหม่ สมัยปฏิรูปสังคมไทย สมัยประชาธิปไตย และสมัยปัจจุบัน ผลการวิเคราะห์สรุปได้ว่ากระบวนการยืมคำและการบัญญัติศัพท์ในสังคมไทยมีวิวัฒนาการซึ่งอธิบายได้เป็น 3 ขั้นตอนใหญ่ๆ คือ เริ่มด้วยการยืมคำหรือการทับศัพท์ การยืมปน การสร้างศัพท์โดยใช้คำไทย และการสร้างศัพท์ใช้พร้อมคำยืม ตามด้วยขั้นตอนที่สองคือ การสร้างศัพท์โดยจำกัดความ การสร้างศัพท์ใช้พร้อมคำที่เขียนเป็นภาษาอังกฤษ และการสร้างศัพท์โดยใช้คำบาลีสันสกฤต ขั้นตอนสุดท้ายคือการปนคำภาษาอังกฤษในภาษาไทย และการสร้างศัพท์โดยแปลตรงตัว	en
dc.description.abstractalternative	To analyze the process of lexical borrowing and word coining in Thai society during the Ratanakosin period from the beginning of the modernization of Thailand to the present time. The data used for analysis was taken from academic articles in newspapers, journals, and word-coining books, systematically sampled by dividing the time span into 5 period marked by significant social changes: pre-modernization period, the democracy period, and the present period. From the result of the analysis, it is concluded that the process of word borrowing and word coining in Thai society has three stages. The first stage is marked by loanwords, loan blends, word coining based on Thai words, and use of coined words together with loanwords. The second stage is marked by coined words as definitions, use of coined words together with English words, and word coining based on Pali and Sanskrit. The last stage of the evolution is marked by mixing English words in Thai and loan translations.	en
