dc.description.abstractการวิจัยครั้งนี้มีจุดมุ่งหมายที่สำคัญ 2 ประการ คือ เพื่อศึกษาความเข้าใจและความสามารถในการใช้คำศัพท์ภาษาอังกฤษของนักศึกษาระดับประกาศนียบัตรวิชาการศึกษาชั้นสูง และเพื่อศึกษาลักษณะที่ผิดในการใช้คำศัพท์เหล่านั้น ผู้วิจัยได้วิเคราะห์คำศัพท์จากแบบเรียนภาษาอังกฤษของนักศึกษาระดับประกาศนียบัตรวิชาการศึกษาชั้นสูงที่เป็นตัวอย่างประชากร และได้รวบรวมคำศัพท์ที่นักศึกษาได้เรียนรู้มาแล้วตั้งแต่ระดับประถมศึกษาจนถึงระดับมัธยมศึกษา แล้วนำคำศัพท์ทั้งหมดมาคัดเลือกและสร้างเป็นแบบสอบความเข้าใจและความสามารถในการใช้คำศัพท์ภาษาอังกฤษ 1 ฉบับ เป็นข้อสอบแบบปรนัยเพื่อทดสอบความเข้าใจคำศัพท์และเป็นข้อสอบแบบเติมคำเพื่อทดสอบความสามารถในการใช้คำศัพท์ภาษอังกฤษ จำนวนรวมทั้งสิ้น 150 ข้อ และได้นำแบบสอบไปใช้กับตัวอย่างประชากร ซึ่งเป็นนักศึกษาระดับประกาศนียบัตรวิชาการศึกษาชั้นสูง ชั้นปีที่สอง ที่เรียนภาษาอังกฤษเป็นวิชาเอกและออกฝึกสอนแล้วในภาคต้น ปีการศึกษา 2521 จากวิทยาลัยครู 12 แห่ง ในภาคกลาง จำนวน 300 คน ผู้วิจัยได้วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลโดยนำคะแนนที่ได้จากแบบสอบมาหาค่าเฉลี่ย ค่าความเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน ค่าสัมประสิทธิ์ความเชื่อถือได้ และค่าร้อยละของจำนวนนักศึกษาที่เข้าใจความหมายและใช้คำศัพท์แต่ละคำได้ถูกต้อง ผลการวิจัยสรุปว่า 1. ค่าเฉลี่ยของคะแนนความเข้าใจและความสามารถในการใช้คำศัพท์ภาษาอังกฤษของนักศึกษาเท่ากับ 63.42 และค่าความเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐานเท่ากับ 12.13 จากคะแนนเต็ม 150 คะแนน หรือเท่ากับร้อยละ 42.28 และ 8.09 ตามลำดับ 2. นักศึกษาส่วนใหญ่มีความสามารถในการทำแบบสอบในระดับไล่เลี่ยกัน 3. ประเภทของคำศัพท์ที่นักศึกษามีข้อผิดมากที่สุด คือ การเลือกใช้คำที่มีความหมายใกล้เคียงกัน รองลงมาคือการเปลี่ยนรูปคำ การเลือกใช้คำต่างความหมาย การใช้สำนวน และ two – word verbs การเลือกใช้คำที่มีรูปหรือเสียงคล้ายกันตามลำดับและเรื่องที่มีข้อผิดน้อยที่สุด คือ การเลือกใช้คำภาษาอังกฤษหลายคำที่มีคำแปลคำเดียวในภาษาไทย
dc.description.abstractalternativeThe purposes of this study were to examine the understanding and the ability to use English vocabularies of the higher certificate of education students majoring in English and to study their mistaken forms and usage. The samples of this study consisted of 300 students from 12 Teachers’ Colleges in 1978 academic year. English vocabularies found in the English texts of the sampling students were systematically analysed and selected as well as the vocabularies previously learned at the elementary and the secondary school levels in order to construct a test measuring the comprehension and the ability to use English vocabularies. The test consisted of totally 150 items which were separated into two parts: the first one measured the second one measured the ability of vocabulary usage. The results were then interpreted in terms of statistical mean, standard deviation, reliability coefficients, and the percentage of the students using each vocabulary item correctly. The results of the analysis were as follows: 1.The mean score and the standard deviation of the understanding and the ability to use English vocabularies of the sampling students from total score of 150 points were 63.42 and 12.13 or equal to 42.28 and 8.09 percent respectively. 2.The level of the ability of most of the sampling students was just about the same. 3.The common mistakes found in this investigation could be arranged in respective orders: confusion of words with almost the same meanings, derivations, wrong choice of words, idiomatic expressions and two – word verbs, confusion of words which had similar found or sounds, and wrong choice of several words which had only one Thai equivalent.
