| Abstract: | วิทยานิพนธ์นี้มีวัตถุประสงค์ที่จะศึกษาถึงปัญหาการให้หัวเรื่องภาษาไทยสำหรับหนังสือและเอกสารในสาขาประชากรศาสตร์ของบรรณารักษ์จัดหมวดหมู่ และทำบัตรรายการจากห้องสมุดเฉพาะทางประชากรศาสตร์และแพทยศาสตร์ในกรุงเทพมหานคร รวม 7 แห่ง พร้อมข้อเสนอแนะในการปรับปรุงหัวเรื่องดังกล่าว นอกจากนี้ยังทำการสำรวจ รวบรวม และวิเคราะห์ถึงหัวเรื่องทางประชากรศาสตร์จาก 3 แหล่ง ได้แก่ หัวเรื่องจากหนังสือ “หัวเรื่องสำหรับหนังสือภาษาไทยของสมาคมห้องสมุดแห่งประเทศไทย พ.ศ.2513” หัวเรื่องจากการรวบรวมหัวเรื่องที่บรรณารักษ์ของห้องสมุด 7 แห่ง ที่ทำการสำรวจได้กำหนดขึ้นใช้ และหัวเรื่องจากคำหรือวลีที่ใช้กันอย่างแพร่หลายในหนังสือและเอกสารในสาขาวิชาประชากรศาสตร์ เพื่อหาข้อเท็จจริงเกี่ยวกับความนิยมในการเลือกใช้หัวเรื่องของผู้ใช้บริการของห้องสมุด อันจะเป็นแนวทางในการกำหนดหัวเรื่องสำหรับหนังสือและเอกสารทางด้านประชากรศาสตร์ของบรรณารักษ์ต่อไป ห้องสมุดเฉพาะทางประชากรศาสตร์และแพทย์ศาสตร์ 7 แห่ง ที่ได้ทำการสำรวจเพื่อนำข้อมูลมาศึกษาในครั้งนี้ คือห้องสมุดสถาบันประชากรศาสตร์ จุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย ห้องสมุดคณะรัฐศาสตร์ จุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย ห้องสมุดคณะแพทยศาสตร์ จุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย ห้องสมุดสถาบันวิจัยประชากรและสังคม มหาวิทยาลัยมหิดล ห้องสมุดคณะแพทยศาสตร์ศิริราชพยาบาล มหาวิทยาลัยมหิดล ห้องสมุดคณะสาธารณสุขศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยมหิดล และห้องสมุดศูนย์ประมวลข่าวสารการอนามัยครอบครัว กระทรวงสาธารณสุข วิธีการวิจัย ค้นคว้าจากหนังสือเอกสารต่าง ๆ ที่เกี่ยวกับการให้หัวเรื่องสัมภาษณ์บรรณารักษ์จากห้องสมุดเฉพาะทางประชากรศาสตร์ และคณะแพทย์ศาสตร์ 7 แห่ง เกี่ยวกับปัญหาการให้หัวเรื่อง ศึกษาและรวบรวมหัวเรื่องที่เกี่ยวข้องกับวิชาประชากรศาสตร์จาก 3 แหล่ง ที่กล่าวแล้วข้างต้นมาสร้างเป็นแบบสอบถาม เพื่อสอบถามผู้ใช้ห้องสมุดจำนวน 35 คน จากห้องสมุด 7 แห่ง เกี่ยวกับความนิยมในการเลือกใช้หัวเรื่องสำหรับค้นในบัตรเรื่องในห้องสมุด แล้วจึงนำความคิดเห็นของผู้ใช้ห้องสมุดเกี่ยวกับหัวเรื่องดังกล่าวมาวิเคราะห์หาข้อเท็จจริงว่าผู้ใช้ห้องสมุดมีความนินมในการเลือกใช้หัวเรื่องในลักษณะใด ผลจากการวิจัยปรากฏว่า ปัญหาที่สำคัญในการใช้หัวเรื่องภาษาไทยสำหรับหนังสือและเอกสารในสาขาวิชาประชากรศาสตร์ คือ ปัญหาการขาดหนังสือคู่มือการให้หัวเรื่องภาษาไทยในสาขาวิชาประชากรศาสตร์ เนื่องจาก บรรณารักษ์ห้องสมุดเฉพาะในสาขาวิชานี้ไม่มีการประชุมปรึกษาหารือกันในเรื่องการกำหนดหัวเรื่องเพิ่มเติมขึ้นใช้ให้เป็นแบบเดียวกัน ดังนั้นหัวเรื่องที่ใช้กันอยู่มีหัวเรื่องที่เกี่ยวข้องกับวิชาประชากรศาสตร์น้อยมากไม่ละเอียด ไม่ทันสมัย ศัพท์บางคำที่แปลมาจากภาษาต่างประเทศ ผู้ใช้ห้องสมุดไม่รู้จัก เนื่องจากไม่ใช่ศัพท์บัญญัติที่แพร่หลาย ฯลฯ สำหรับการสำรวจ และรวบรวมหัวเรื่องภาษาไทยในสาขาวิชาประชากรศาสตร์จากหนังสือ “หัวเรื่องสำหรับหนังสือภาษาไทยของสมาคมห้องสมุดแห่งประเทศไทย พ.ศ.2513” จากหัวเรื่องที่บรรณารักษ์ของห้องสมุด 7 แห่ง ได้กำหนดขึ้นใช้ และจากคำหรือวลีที่ใช้อย่างแพร่หลายในหนังสือและเอกสารในสาขาวิชาประชากรศาสตร์ ได้หัวเรื่องรวมทั้งหมด 1,305 หัวเรื่อง โดยผู้วิจัยได้นำหัวเรื่องทั้งหมดมาจัดทำแบบสอบถามเพื่อสอบถามความคิดเห็นของผู้ใช้ห้องสมุด ได้ 991 กรณี ซึ่งจากการสำรวจผลปรากฏว่า ผู้ใช้ห้องสมุดเห็นด้วยกับหัวเรื่องที่ผู้วิจัยได้เสนอให้เป็นส่วนใหญ่ และพิจารณาถึงหัวเรื่องที่มีผู้ตอบว่าเป็นหัวเรื่องที่เหมาะสม จำนวนร้อยละ 90 ขึ้นไปจากผู้ตอบทั้งหมด ปรากฏว่าหัวเรื่องที่ผู้ตอบเห็นว่าเป็นหัวเรื่องที่เหมาะสมนั้น มีลักษณะการใช้คำแบบสามัญธรรมดาเป็นส่วนใหญ่ โดยไม่มีการใช้คำกลับคำ หรือใช้หัวเรื่องย่อยประกอบหัวเรื่องใหญ่นออกจากนี้ เมื่อผู้วิจัยได้พิจารณาถึงหัวเรื่องที่มีความหมายคล้ายคลึงกัน แต่มีการใช้ลักษณะคำแตกต่างกัน หัวเรื่องดังกล่าวนี้มีหัวเรื่องให้พิจารณา 60 กรณี ซึ่งผลจากการสำรวจปรากฏว่า หัวเรื่องที่ผู้ตอบเห็นว่าเป็นหัวเรื่องที่เหมาะสมนั้น มีลักษณะการใช้คำเป็นแบบสามัญธรรมดาเป็นส่วนใหญ่เช่นกัน โดยผู้ตอบไม่ได้คำนึงถึงการกลับคำหรือหัวเรื่องย่อย สำหรับประโยชน์ในการวิจัยครั้งนี้ ผู้วิจัยได้รวบรวมหัวเรื่องในสาขาวิชาประชากรศาสตร์ไว้ทั้งหมด ซึ่งบรรณารักษ์จะสามารถนำไปปรับใช้ได้ในการให้หัวเรื่องในห้องสมุดของตนต่อไป อีกทั้งผู้วิจัยได้เสนอแนะไว้ว่า ในการกำหนดหัวเรื่องขึ้นใช้ในห้องสมุดนั้น ควรที่จะให้ผู้ใช้บริการได้มีส่วนในการกำหนดหัวเรื่องบ้าง เพื่อว่าจะได้หัวเรื่องที่ผู้ใช้ห้องสมุดนิยมใช้เป็นส่วนใหญ่ |
| Other Abstract: | The objectives of this thesis are: 1) To study the problems faced by catalogers from seven demographic and medical science libraries in Bangkok Metropolis in assigning subject headings for Thai books;2) to seek their recommendations for the Thai subject headings in demography; 3) to study, compile and analyze Thai subject headings from three sources : first, "Subject Headings for Thai Books by the Thai Library Association 2513 B.E."; second, the subject headings assigned for usage in seven special libraries; third, the selected words or phrases which are popularly used in books or printed materials in the field of demography. This was done to find the subject headings commonly selected by the users. This study hopefully provides the guideline for librarians in further assigning Thai subject headings. The seven libraries studied were in: The Institute of Population Studies, Faculty of Political Science, Faculty of Medical Science, Chulalongkorn University. The Institute of Population and Social Research, Siriraj Medical library, Faculty of Public Health, Mahidol University; and Thai Population National Clearing House, Ministry of Public Health. The research methods used in this thesis were documentary analysis through books and printed materials concerning subject headings; librarians from. seven demographic and medical science libraries were interviewed about the problems of assigning subject headings for Thai books. Subject headings relevant to demography from 3 sources were compiled and used to construct the questionnaire. This questionnaire was distributed to 35 users in seven special libraries in order to determine the subject headings they used when searching the subject card catalog. Their responses were analysed to determine what subject headings the users were likely to use. The research results were as follows: the major problem for assigning Thai subject headings for Thai books in the field of demography was due to lack of guildline for assigning Thai subject headings in this field and librarians did not meet together to work out this problem. Only a few relevant subject headings were available and some of them were obsolete. Some translated words from English were unfamiliar due to their rare useage. For the study of Thai subject headings from 3 sources, the number of subject headings was 1,305 of which 991 headings were tested in the questionnaire. The users agreed with most of the subject headings the researcher proposed to the users in the questionnaire. Those subject headings with which 90% of the users felt were suitable were common words or phrases and were not inverted and not sub-headings. In addition, when subject headings that had similar meanings but used different words or phrases were considered, there were 60 cases altogether. The result was that the subject headings the users considered to be suitable were also common words or phrases while the inverted words or phrases or sub-headings were unrecognized. One contribution of this research was the collection of all of the subject headings that the librarians could use in further assigning subject headings. This study recommends that users ought to take part in assigning subject headings in order to formulated popular subject headings that the users like to use. |
