| Abstract: | การวิจัยครั้งนี้เป็นการวิจัยเชิงสำรวจ มีความมุ่งหมายที่จะสำรวจสภาพการเลือกซื้อหนังสือสำหรับเด็กของผู้ปกครองนักเรียนระดับชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 2 และประถมศึกษาปีที่ 3 ในโรงเรียนสาธิตของมหาวิทยาลัย และวิทยาลัยครู ในเขตกรุงเทพมหานคร ตลอดจนศึกษาปัญหาในการเลือกซื้อ แนวทางที่ผู้ปกครองใช้ในการพิจารณาเลือกซื้อหนังสือสำหรับเด็ก เปรียบเทียบแนวทางในการพิจารณาเลือกซื้อหนังสือสำหรับเด็กของผู้ปกครองที่มีระดับการศึกษา อาชีพและรายได้ที่แตกต่างกัน และศึกษาความคิดเห็นของผู้ปกครองต่อหนังสือสำหรับเด็กวัย 6 - 9 ขวบ ในปัจจุบัน ตัวอย่างประชากรเป็นผู้ปกครองของนักเรียนชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 2 และประถมศึกษาปีที่ 3 ในโรงเรียนสาธิตของมหาวิทยาลัยในเขตกรุงเทพมหานคร 3 แห่ง และโรงเรียนสาธิตของวิทยาลัยครูในเขตกรุงเทพมหานคร 3 แห่ง ใช้วิธีสุ่มแบบธรรมดา ( Simple Random Sampling ) โดยในแต่ละโรงเรียนสุ่มผู้ปกครองของนักเรียน 1 ห้องเรียนทุกระดับชั้น ( ป.2 – ป.3 ) ได้ตัวอย่างประชากรทั้งสิ้น 520 คน เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัยเป็นแบบสอบถาม ได้รับแบบสอบถามกลับคืนมาทั้งสิ้นจำนวน 433 ชุด ข้อมูลที่ได้นำมาวิเคราะห์โดยหาค่าร้อยละ ค่าเฉลี่ยและส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน ผลการวิจัยสรุปได้ดังนี้ 1. ผู้ปกครองสนับสนุนและส่งเสริมการอ่านแก่เด็กโดยวิธีการซื้อหนังสือสำหรับเด็กให้อ่านมากที่สุด หนังสือที่ซื้อส่วนใหญ่มีรายละเอียดดังนี้ เป็นหนังสือที่ให้ความบันเทิง เป็นหนังสือประเภทเทพนิยายและนิทานพื้นเมือง เนื้อเรื่องให้คติเตือนใจ สอนให้ใฝ่ดี ประพฤติดีมากที่สุด ส่วนหนังสือสารคดีที่ผู้ปกครองซื้อมีเนื้อเรื่องเกี่ยวกับความรู้รอบตัวมากที่สุด มีรูปแบบการเขียนเป็นร้อยแก้ว เป็นหนังสือปกอ่อน มีรูปเล่มเป็นแบบสี่เหลี่ยมแนวตั้ง ไม่จำกัดขนาดและความหนาของหนังสือ พิมพ์ด้วยกระดาษปอนด์ มีภาพประกอบเป็นภาพสี ขนาดตัวอักษรที่ใช้พิมพ์เป็นอักษรขนาดกลาง (ประมาณ 24 พอยท์ครึ่ง) มีราคาระหว่าง 10 -20 บาท ปัญหาอันดับหนึ่งในการเลือกซื้อหนังสือสำหรับเด็กคือ หนังสือสำหรับเด็กส่วนใหญ่ไม่ระบุว่าเหมาะสมกับเด็กวัยใด จึงไม่แน่ใจว่าซื้อไปแล้วเด็กจะสนใจ รองลงมาคือหนังสือสำหรับเด็กส่วนมากมีราคาแพง 2. ในการเลือกซื้อหนังสือ ผู้ปกครองส่วนใหญ่ตัดสินใจเองแต่พิจารณาความสนใจของเด็กประกอบด้วย สิ่งที่ผู้ปกครองคำนึงถึงมากที่สุดหรือพิจารณาเป็นอันดับแรกคือ เนื้อเรื่องของหนังสือ ซึ่งต้องเป็นเรื่องที่ดีน่าสนใจในความเห็นของผู้ปกครอง นอกจากนั้นจะต้องมีลักษณะสำคัญคือตรงกับความสนใจของเด็ก และเนื้อเรื่องไม่ยากเกินไปสำหรับเด็ก นอกจากนี้ผู้ปกครองยังพิจารณาองค์ประกอบอื่น ๆ ตามลำดับคือ ด้านการใช้ภาษาจะต้องใช้คำสุภาพ ตัวสะกดการันต์ถูกต้อง ไม่ใช้คำยากเกินความเข้าใจของเด็ก ด้านภาพประกอบจะต้องเป็นภาพที่สอดคล้องกับเรื่อง ภาพอธิบายเนื้อเรื่องได้ช่วยให้เนื้อหาชัดเจนขึ้น ลักษณะของภาพถูกต้องเหมาะสมกับเรื่อง ด้านราคาต้องมีราคาไม่แพงเกินไป ด้านลักษณะรูปเล่ม ตัวอักษรต้องโตเหมาะกับสายตาของเด็ก มีลักษณะอ่านง่าย การจัดภาพ คำบรรยายและเนื้อที่ว่างแต่ละหน้าเหมาะสม นอกจากนี้จะต้องเป็นหนังสือที่เหมาะสมกับความสามารถในการอ่านของบุตรหลาน และมีวิธีเขียนชวนติดตาม องค์ประกอบที่ผู้ปกครองพิจารณาน้อยหรืออาจจะไม่พิจารณาเลยได้แก่ ผู้เขียน ผู้วาดภาพประกอบ และสำนักพิมพ์ สำหรับการศึกษาเปรียบเทียบแนวทางในการพิจารณาเลือกซื้อหนังสือสำหรับเด็กของผู้ปกครองที่มีระดับการศึกษา อาชีพ และรายได้ที่แตกต่างกันนั้น ผู้วิจัยไม่สามารถทำการศึกษาได้ด้วยข้อจำกัดที่ว่าข้อมูลที่เก็บรวบรวมได้ในด้านของตัวแปรดังกล่าวมีการกระจายในสัดส่วนที่ไม่เหมาะสม พอที่จะทำให้การวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลเชื่อถือได้ 3. ผู้ปกครองมีความคิดเห็นว่าหนังสือสำหรับเด็กวัย 6 -9 ขวบ ในปัจจุบันมีคุณภาพอยู่ในระดับดีทั้งในด้านเนื้อเรื่อง ภาพประกอบ การใช้ภาษาและลักษณะรูปเล่ม เนื้อเรื่องของหนังสือสำหรับเด็กประเภทให้ความบันเทิงที่ผู้ปกครองคิดว่าควรมีเพิ่มเติมมากที่สุดคือเรื่องที่สอนการปรับตัวและการดำรงชีวิตในสังคม ส่วนประเภทสารคดี ผู้ปกครองคิดว่า ควรเพิ่มเติมเรื่องชีวประวัติมากที่สุด รูปเล่มที่ผู้ปกครองคิดว่าเหมาะสมกับหนังสือสำหรับเด็กมากที่สุดคือ สี่เหลี่ยมแนวตั้งและแนวนอน หนังสือสำหรับเด็กควรมีกิจกรรมท้ายเล่มให้เด็กได้ทำหรือร่วมสนุก ผู้ปกครองมีความเห็นว่าหนังสือสำหรับเด็กควรมีราคาระหว่าง 10 -20 บาท มากที่สุด ผู้วิจัยมีข้อเสนอแนะต่อผู้ปกครอง บรรณารักษ์ ผู้เขียน ผู้วาดภาพประกอบและสำนักพิมพ์ดังนี้ ในการเลือกซื้อหนังสือสำหรับเด็ก ผู้ปกครองควรพิจารณาจากความสนใจของเด็กเป็นอันดับแรก ไม่ใช่ความคิดเห็นของตนเป็นหลัก ซึ่งจะช่วยให้ผู้ปกครองซื้อหนังสือได้ตรงกับความสนใจของเด็กมากที่สุด บรรณารักษ์ควรมีส่วนช่วยผู้ปกครองในการเลือกซื้อหนังสือสำหรับเด็ก โดยการช่วยแนะนำหรือประชาสัมพันธ์หนังสือดีและเหมาะสมกับวัยของเด็กให้ผู้ปกครองทราบ จะได้เป็นแนวทางในการเลือกซื้อหนังสือ ผู้เขียน ผู้วาดภาพประกอบและสำนักพิมพ์ ควรร่วมมือกันผลิตหนังสือสำหรับเด็กให้มีคุณภาพดีทั้งในด้านเนื้อเรื่องและภาพประกอบ ระบุอายุที่เหมาะสมกับเด็กไว้ในหนังสือด้วย จัดทำกิจกรรมท้ายเล่มให้เด็กได้ทำหรือร่วมสนุก ผลิตหนังสือที่มีรูปเล่มแปลก ๆ น่าสนใจและมีเนื้อหาหลายประเภทต่างกันไป ผู้ปกครองจะได้เลือกหนังสือได้ตรงกับความสนใจของเด็กมากที่สุด พยายามให้หนังสือสำหรับเด็กมีราคาพอเหมาะเพื่อว่าผู้ปกครองส่วนใหญ่จะได้สามารถซื้อให้บุตรหลานอ่านได้ และสำนักพิมพ์ควรจัดพิมพ์รายชื่อหนังสือสำหรับเด็กออกเผยแพร่อย่างสม่ำเสมอ เพื่อประโยชน์ของผู้ปกครองในการเลือกซื้อหนังสือสำหรับเด็กต่อไป |
| Other Abstract: | This survey research is proposed to clarify how parents of students studying in grade 2 and 3 at the University and the Teacher College Demonstration Schools in Bangkok Metropolitan Area select books for their children. The study involves the problems of selection, tendency of considerations, comparing of book selection tendency of the parents which having difference in education, profession and income, as well as their points of view to books, being available in the present, for their children at the age of 6 to 9. The total of 520 samples collected by applying Simple Random Sampling technique are parents of students in grade 2 and 3, in one classroom each, taken from 3 of the University Demonstration Schools and 3 of the Teacher College Demonstration Schools in Bangkok Metropolitan Area. Data are collected through questionnaire which 433 out of 520 sets are returned, then analyzed by computing percentage, arithmetic means and standard deviation. The results can be concluded as follows: 1. Most of parents encourage their children to read by giving them children books. Most books are dealing with entertainment especially tales and folk tales. The contents of an entertainment book about moral lessons are mostly bought. For the informational book, the general knowledge are the most preferable. As far as the format is concerned, the upright rectangular paperback books, written in prose style, no limitation in size and thickness, printed on sulphate paper with colourful illustrations and 24.5 points lettersize are most bought. For the price, most books are in the range of Bath 10 to 20. The first significant problem on book selection is that a suitable age of children to read them are not recommended which lead to the problem that their interests are questionable. The second problem is that the book prices are mostly high. 2. In selecting children books, parents are the one who make decisions regarding children’s reading interests. The main consideration is concentrated on contents apparently good and interesting according to parents’ opinion but expected to be of children’s views as well, they should be common subjects. Moreover, they also consider other factors in these orders as follows: written in polite language, correctly spelling, easy word for children, having illustrations corresponding to story and helping children understand story more clearly, appropriate descriptive illustration, unexpensive price, letter’s quality of being convenient to their sight and easy to read, good arrangement, besides, the styles of writing must be of children’s reading ability and attractive. The factors which most parents don’t consider of least consider are the authors, illustrators and publishers. The study for comparing of book selection tendency of the parents which having difference in education, profession and income hasn’t been achieved because the collected data concerning the mentioned conditions did not scatter in suitable ratio. 3. The parents have opinions that the books for 6 to 9 year old children, being available in the present, are satisfied in several ways such as contents, illustrations, using language and formats. The contents of entertainment books should mostly increase in the ways to improve oneself and to live happily in the present society. The biography of famous persons of different fields should likely be increased in the informational books. An upright and horizontal rectangular forms are suitable for children books. They should include some activities for children in the last part of children books. The price should be a range of Baht 10 to 20. The researcher would like to have some recommendations to parents, librarians, authors, illustrators and publishers concerning to children books as follow: In selecting children books, parents should consider in the children’s reading interests, not theirs, at the first. This will help parents in buying the right books to children’s interests. Librarians should take part in selecting books for children by giving an information about good books for each age level. The authors, the illustrators and the publishers should work together in producing good quality books in both contents and illustrations. The children books should provide the recommendation for the readers and some recreational activities for children. The book market should have children books in attractive formats, variety contents and moderately price so that parents can buy most directly to children’s reading interests and as many as they need. The publishers should supply a list of children books regulary to help parents in selecting children books. |
