| Abstract: | วิทยานิพนธ์เรื่องนี้มีจุดมุ่งหมายที่จะศึกษาชีวประวัติและผลงานของประยูร จรรยาวงษ์ เพื่อให้เข้าใจถึงชีวิตและผลงานของท่านในด้านต่างๆ วิธีดำเนินการวิจัยมีดังนี้ ศึกษาค้นคว้าชีวประวัติและผลงานของประยูร จรรยาวงษ์ จากหนังสือ นิตยสาร หนังสือพิมพ์ เอกสารอื่นๆ และต้นฉบับภาพเขียนจัดทำตารางแสดงจำนวนผลงาน จัดทำรายชื่อบทความต่างๆ เรียงตามลำดับปีที่พิมพ์ และจัดทำบรรณานุกรมพร้อมบรรณนิทัศน์ผลงานทั้งหมดที่รวมพิมพ์เป็นเล่ม สัมภาษณ์ประยูร จรรยาวงษ์ และบุคคลที่ใกล้ชิด สร้างตารางวิเคราะห์ผลงานด้านภาพและวรรณกรรม วิเคราะห์ผลงานในด้านจุดมุ่งหมาย เนื้อหาสาระ ภาพล้อหรือภาพการ์ตูน รูปเล่มและคุณภาพการพิมพ์โดยเขียนเป็นความเรียง ผลของการวิจัยสรุปได้ว่าประยูร จรรยาวงษ์ ไม่ได้ศึกษาการเขียนภาพการ์ตูนมาจากที่ใด แต่ประสบผลสำเร็จในด้านการเขียนการ์ตูนจากความเพียรพยายามและความมีใจรักในด้านนี้ เริ่มเขียนการ์ตูนเป็นอาชีพตั้งแต่ พ.ศ. 2481 ด้วยการ์ตูนเรื่องยาวเรื่องจันทะโครบ และเริ่มเขียนภาพล้อการเมืองเมื่อ พ.ศ. 2489 แยกประเภทของผลงานออกเป็น ภาพล้อการเมืองและสังคมมีจำนวนภาพมากกว่า 9,203 ภาพ การ์ตูนเรื่องยางมี 34 เรื่อง เป็นจำนวนภาพมากกว่า 27,374 ภาพ และผลงานเบ็ดเตล็ดประกอบด้วย บทความ 441 บทความ บทความและภาพประกอบ 2,231 บทความ และภาพการ์ตูนเบ็ดเตล็ดอีก 939 ภาพ โดยเฉลี่ยแล้วเขาเขียนภาพประมาณวันละ 4 ภาพ ยกเว้นในช่วง พ.ศ. 2497-2501 กับ พ.ศ.2510-2514 เขาได้เขียนภาพ โดยเฉลี่ยประมาณวันละ 6 ภาพ เป็นผลงานทุกประเภท ผลของการวิเคราะห์ผลงานด้านจุดมุ่งหมายเป็นการเสนอข่าวเหตุการณ์ทั่วไปล้อเลียนเสียดสีการเมืองและสังคม ให้ความจรรโลงใจและความเพลิดเพลินแก่ผู้อ่านอยู่ในชั้นดีเยี่ยม ด้านเนื้อหาสาระเป็นการคัดเลือกข่าวที่น่าสนใจหรือย้ำข้อคิดเห็นเพื่อก่อให้เกิดความรู้สึกรับผิดชอบต่อชาติ และสังคม ถ่ายทอดความรอบรู้ต่างๆ ภาษาที่ใช้มีทั้งร้อยแก้วและร้อยกรองอยู่ในขั้นดี ด้านภาพเป็นภาพกึ่งการ์ตูนกึ่งภาพเหมือนให้อารมณ์ขันแต่แฝงไว้ด้วยข้อคิดจึงเป็นภาพการ์ตูนสำหรับผู้ใหญ่มากกว่าสำหรับเด็ก โดยที่ภาพเขียนของเขามีลักษณะของการริเริ่มสร้างสรรค์ในรูปแบบของตนเองอย่างเด่นชัด ด้านรูปเล่มและคุณภาพการพิมพ์อยู่ในขั้นพอใจ ตัวอักษรในผลงานส่วนใหญ่ที่ตีพิมพ์ในหนังสือพิมพ์และนิตยสารมีทั้งลายมือและตัวพิมพ์ ประยูร จรรยาวงษ์ ยึดหลักในการดำเนินชีวิตละเว้นความชั่วทำในสิ่งที่ควรทำและมีเมตตากรุณา เป็นผู้มีอารมณ์ขันมีความพอใจและพร้อมที่จะสนทนาปราศรัยกับทุกคนที่ยินดีจะพูดกับเขา ประยูรจรรยาวงษ์ หลีกเลี่ยงการโฆษณาตนเองทุกประเภท มีความทะนงในตัวเอง และมีจิตใจเป็นอิสระและไม่ยอมผูกพันกับหนังสือพิมพ์ฉบับใดฉบับหนึ่งโดยเฉพาะ หากเขียนภาพล้อและการ์ตูนให้หนังสือพิมพ์หลายฉบับตามใจชอบ ผลงานสร้างสรรค์ของเขาจะยังคงมีต่อไป นับได้ว่าเป็นบุคคลที่สมควรอย่างยิ่งที่ได้รับการยกย่องเป็นตัวอย่างนักหนังสือพิมพ์และนักศิลปะที่ดี |
| Other Abstract: | The objective of this thesis is to study life and works of Prayoon Chanyawong in order to gain more knowledge and understanding from his life and his works. The methods used in this research are studying from books, journals, newspaper, other documents, and primary drawings; making statistic tables of works; making a list of articles in chronological order; making an annotated bibliography of work published in book form; interviewing with Prayoon Chanyawong and people who have known him; establishing the scales for evaluating and analyzing his drawings and literary work; analyzing his drawings and literary works; analyzing his works in four aspects: objective, subject matter, drawing, format and layout quality of typographic design. The conclusion of this research is that Prayoon Chanyawong had no academic training in cartoon drawing but became a successful cartoonist by his hard working and loving in cartoon drawing, starts his career as a professional cartoonist since 1938 with the comic strip cartoons “Chantakhorob”; his first political cartoon appeared in 1946. His works are more than 9,203 political and gag cartoons, more than 27,374 comic strip cartoons in 34 titles, and his miscellaneous works of 441 articles, 2,231 articles with drawings and 939 miscellaneous cartoons. On the average, he works 4 drawings a day, but 6 drawings a day in 1954-1958 and 1967-1971. The objective of his works is excellent in presenting the general events, satirizing the political and social situations, and inspiring and recreating his readers. The subject matter of his works is good in selecting interesting news about the national and social responsibilities, and the general information, and also good in literary component both in prose and poetry. His drawing is half cartoon and half realistic with satirical humorous intent for adults rather than for children. He is distinctive in his own style of creativity and originality. The format and quality of typographic designs are fair, most of letters in his works appeared in newspapers, journals and magazines are both handwriting and types. Prayoon’s tenet of life is : avoid doing evil, do what should be done, and be kind. He is a man of great humor who is always pleased to talk to anyone who cares to speak to him. Prayoon Chanyawong shuns all forms of self publicity. He is very proud of himself, very independent and has refused to be tied to any newspaper but sold his caricature and comic cartoons independently. His creative works will go on and on. He should be cited as a model of the best journalist and artist. |
