| Abstract: | วัตถุประสงค์ ในการวิจัยครั้งนี้ มีวัตถุประสงค์ ดังต่อไปนี้ 1. วิเคราะห์โครงสร้างไวยากรณ์อังกฤษในแบบเรียน Kernel Lessons Plus-a post-intermediate course ซึ่งเป็นแบบเรียนของนักศึกษาปีที่ 1 มหาวิทยาลัยศิลปากร 2. เปรียบเทียบความยากง่ายของโครงสร้างไวยากรณ์ในแบบเรียนดังกล่าวกับแบบเรียนโครงสร้างไวยากรณ์อังกฤษของนักศึกษาปีที่ 1 จุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย และมหาวิทยาลัยธรรมศาสตร์ 3. เปรียบเทียบโครงสร้างไวยากรณ์อังกฤษในแบบเรียนดังกล่าว กับโครงสร้างไวยากรณ์อังกฤษในระดับมัธยมศึกษาตอนปลาย 4. หาข้อเสนอแนะในการปรับปรุงแบบเรียนโครงสร้างไวยากรณ์อังกฤษสำหรับนักศึกษาปีที่ 1 ของมหาวิทยาลัยศิลปากร วิธีดำเนินงาน ผู้วิจัยศึกษาแบบเรียนโครงสร้างไวยากรณ์อังกฤษสำหรับนักศึกษาชั้นปีที่ 1 ปีการศึกษา 2518 ของจุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย มหาวิทยาลัยธรรมศาสตร์ และมหาวิทยาลัยศิลปากร คัดเลือกโครงสร้างไวยากรณ์ทั้งหมดซึ่งไม่ซ้ำกันจากแบบเรียนแต่ละเล่ม โดยคัดจาก Exposition, Grammar Summary, Practice, Structure หรือส่วนที่เป็นการสอนโครงสร้างไวยากรณ์ใหม่ นับความถี่ที่ปรากฏของโครงสร้างไวยากรณ์ดังกล่าว ในเนื้อเรื่องสำหรับอ่านเนื้อเรื่องสำหรับฟัง และตัวอย่างที่ไม่ซ้ำกับโครงสร้างไวยากรณ์ ในเนื้อเรื่องสำหรับอ่านและฟัง โดยเลือกเสนอแต่โครงสร้างไวยากรณ์ที่มีความถี่ที่ปรากฏ 3 ครั้งขึ้นไป และรวบรวมโครงสร้างไวยากรณ์เหล่านี้ได้เป็น 8 หมวดใหญ่ จากนั้นจึงเปรียบเทียบโครงสร้างไวยากรณ์ที่พบในแบบเรียนโครงสร้างไวยากรณ์ของทั้ง 3 มหาวิทยาลัย นำเสนอในรูปของตาราง โดยใช้โครงสร้างไวยากรณ์ที่พบในแบบเรียนของมหาวิทยาลัยศิลปากรเป็นหลัก จากนั้นจึงเปรียบเทียบโครงสร้างไวยากรณ์ในแบบเรียนของมหาวิทยาลัยศิลปากรกับโครงสร้างไวยากรณ์อังกฤษในระดับมัธยมศึกษาตอนปลาย สรุปผลการวิจัย 1. แบบเรียนโครงสร้างไวยากรณ์อังกฤษสำหรับนักศึกษาปีที่ 1 มหาวิทยาลัยศิลปากร มีโครงสร้างไวยากรณ์รวมได้เป็น 7 หมวดใหญ่ และแบ่งเป็นโครงสร้างไวยากรณ์ย่อยได้ 47 โครงสร้าง 2. แบบเรียนโครงสร้างไวยากรณ์อังกฤษสำหรับนักศึกษาปีที่ 1 มหาวิทยาลัยศิลปากร มีระดับความยากง่ายอยู่ในระดับเดียวกับแบบเรียนโครงสร้างไวยากรณ์ชั้นปีที่ 1 ของจุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย และมหาวิทยาลัยธรรมศาสตร์ 3. โครงสร้างไวยากรณ์ในแบบเรียนโครงสร้างไวยากรณ์ของมหาวิทยาลัยศิลปากรดังกล่าวส่วนใหญ่ประมาณ 75% เป็นโครงสร้างไวยากรณ์ที่นักศึกษาเรียนมาแล้วในชั้นมัธยมศึกษาตอนปลาย และมีโครงสร้างไวยากรณ์เพียงจำนวนเล็กน้อยที่มีสอนในชั้นมัธยมศึกษาตอนปลาย แต่ไม่พบในแบบเรียนโครงสร้างไวยากรณ์ของมหาวิทยาลัยศิลปากรอย่างไรก็ตาม แบบเรียนดังกล่าวมีโครงสร้างไวยากรณ์เพิ่มเติมจากโครงสร้างไวยากรณ์ ที่นักเรียนได้เรียนมาแล้วในชั้นมัธยมศึกษาตอนปลาย 12 โครงสร้าง ข้อเสนอแนะ ผู้ใช้แบบเรียนโครงสร้างไวยากรณ์อังกฤษสำหรับนักศึกษาปีที่ 1 มหาวิทยาลัยศิลปากรควรเพิ่มเนื้อหาในหมวดโครงสร้างไวยากรณ์ที่ยังอยู่น้อย คือ หมวด Con-nectives, Prepositions, Adjectives and Adverbs และ Pronouns และ ควรทบทวนโครงสร้างไวยากรณ์ที่พบในแบบเรียนโครงสร้างไวยากรณ์ในระดับมัธยมศึกษาตอนปลาย แต่ไม่พบในแบบเรียนโครงสร้างไวยากรณ์ของมหาวิทยาลัยศิลปากรให้แก่นักศึกษาในโอกาสที่เหมาะสม แม้ว่าจะเป็นโครงสร้างไวยากรณ์ขั้นพื้นฐานก็ตาม อนึ่ง ผู้บริหารการศึกษาในมหาวิทยาลัยอื่น ๆ ควรพิจารณาเลือกแบบเรียนโครงสร้างไวยากรณ์อังกฤษที่มีเนื้อหาและระดับความยากง่ายอยู่ในระดับเดียวกับแบบเรียนโครงสร้างไวยากรณ์ของมหาวิทยาลัยอื่น เพื่อให้การศึกษาภาษาอังกฤษในระดับอุดมศึกษาชั้นปีที่ 1 อยู่ในระดับเดียวกันหรือใกล้เคียงกัน โดยอาจใช้การวิเคราะห์แบบเรียนครั้งนี้เป็นหลักในการพิจารณา |
| Other Abstract: | Purpose The purpose of this study is, first, to analyse the English structures used in Kernel Lessons Plus-a post-interme-diate course which is the Silpakorn University’s freshman English textbook; second, to determine whether this textbook has the same level of difficulty as the freshman texts used at Chulalongkorn and Thamasart Universities; third. To compare the structures found in Silpakorn University’s freshman textbook with the structures found in Mattayomsuksa 4-5 ; and finally, to find means to improve the English textbook for Silpakorn University freshmen. Procedure All English structures taught to freshmen at each of the three Universities were isolated. Structures were taken from Exposition, Grammar Summary, Practice, Structures or the part where a new structure is introduced. Then the frequencies of all the structures found in the reading passages, the listening passages and examples which had already appeared under the above mentioned parts were counted. Structures which appeared fewer than three times were not included in the list. After that, all the structures were sorted into eight main groups. Then the structures found in the Silpakorn University textbook were compared with those of Chulalongkorn and Thamasart and presented in tables. Finally, the structures in the Silpakorn University textbook were compared to the structures in Mattayomsuksa 4-5 textbooks. Findings and Conclusions 1. The forty-seven structures found in the Silpakorn textbook for freshmen were sorted into seven groups according to their grammatical function. 2. The Silpakorn textbook had the same level of difficulty as those of Chulalongkorn and Thamasart. 3. About 75% of the structures found in Silpakorn University English textbook for freshmen had already been studied in Mattayomsuksa 4-5. A total of twelve new structures were taught in this book. Recommendations The teachers who use the English textbook for Silpakorn University freshmen should increase the number of structures using Connectives, Prepositions, Adjectives and Adverbs and Pronouns. Furthermore, those structures which appeared in Mattayomsuksa 4-5 textbooks but are not covered in the Silpakorn textbook should be revised though they may be very basic. Finally, other universities may use this analysis as a guideline when selecting freshman English texts. It would have the advantage of standardizing both the degree of difficulty and the amount of material introduced at this level of study. |
