dc.description.abstract	วิทยานิพนธ์ฉบับนี้มุ่งศึกษาความเป็นวรรณคดีชาดกที่ปรากฏในรามเกียรติ์ฉบับล้านนาเรื่องพรหมจักร ฉบับปริวรรตของสิงฆะ วรรณสัย ทั้งในด้านรูปแบบและเนื้อหา เพื่อแสดงให้เห็นว่า วรรณกรรมเรื่องพรหมจักรซึ่งมีเค้าโครงเรื่องมาจากเรื่องรามเกียรติ์นั้นมีกระบวนการปรับเปลี่ยนเรื่องให้กลายเป็นชาดกอย่างไร ตลอดจนมีลักษณะร่วมหรือแตกต่างจากวรรณกรรมชาดกล้านนา และรามเกียรติ์ฉบับท้องถิ่นอื่นอย่างไร ผลการวิจัยพบว่า รามเกียรติ์ฉบับล้านนาเรื่องพรหมจักรมีรูปแบบการประพันธ์คล้ายคลึงกับรูปแบบในอรรถกถาชาดกและปัญญาสชาดก กล่าวคือ มีปัจจุบันวัตถุ อดีตวัตถุ และสโมธาน ลักษณะสำคัญที่ปรากฏในเรื่องพรหมจักรคือ การแทรกความเชื่อเรื่องบุญกรรม ทำให้เรื่องราวดำเนินไปภายใต้กฎแห่งกรรม อันถือเป็นแนวคิดสำคัญเพื่อใช้สั่งสอนผู้ฟังหรือผู้อ่านให้ตั้งมั่นอยู่ในศีลธรรม แนวคิดดังกล่าวแสดงผ่านตัวละครซึ่งได้ก่อกรรมและต้องรับผลกรรมที่ตนเองก่อขึ้น ไม่มีใครหลุดพ้นจากกฎแห่งกรรมได้ ความเชื่อเรื่องบุญกรรมที่ปรากฏในเรื่องจึงเป็นเครื่องเตือนใจให้ผู้ฟังหรือผู้อ่านตระหนักในการทำความดี ลักษณะสำคัญที่ปรากฏในเรื่องพรหมจักรคือ การแทรกความเชื่อเรื่องบุญกรรม ทำให้เรื่องราวดำเนินไปภายใต้กฎแห่งกรรม อันถือเป็นแนวคิดสำคัญเพื่อใช้สั่งสอนผู้ฟังหรือผู้อ่านให้ตั้งมั่นอยู่ในศีลธรรม แนวคิดดังกล่าวแสดงผ่านตัวละครซึ่งได้ก่อกรรมและต้องรับผลกรรมที่ตนเองก่อขึ้น ไม่มีใครหลุดพ้นจากกฎแห่งกรรมได้ ความเชื่อเรื่องบุญกรรมที่ปรากฏในเรื่องจึงเป็นเครื่องเตือนใจให้ผู้ฟังหรือผู้อ่านตระหนักในการทำความดี ลักษณะตัวละครพระโพธิสัตว์ในเรื่องพรหมจักรได้มีการปรับเปลี่ยนให้เข้ากับลักษณะของวรรณกรรมชาดกมากขึ้น จากเดิมที่พระรามเป็นนักรบผู้กล้าหาญก็เปลี่ยนมาเน้นเรื่องการบำเพ็ญบุญบารมีเพื่อบรรลุพระสัพพัญญุตญาณ มีการหลีกเลี่ยงบางตอนที่พระโพธิสัตว์ต้องฆ่าตัวละครหรือต้องก่อกรรม ลักษณะตัวละครที่เป็นอุดมคติ มีจริยาวัตรอันดีงามนี้เป็นแบบอย่างให้ผู้ฟังหรือผู้อ่านเกิดความเลื่อมใสศรัทธาในพระพุทธศาสนา และนำพระจริยาวัตรของพระโพธิสัตว์ไปเป็นแบบอย่างในการดำเนินชีวิต	en
dc.description.abstractalternative	This research aims to study the characteristics of Jataka Literature, both form and content, in Phrommachak, a Lanna Ramakian transcribed by Singha Wannasai. It also demonstrates how Phrommachak is adapted to Jataka and compares and contrasts Phrommachak to other Lanna Jataka literary texts and other local Ramakians.The study finds that Phrommachak imitates the structure from the Jataka-atthakatha in which a story comprises the story of the present, the story of the past, and the connection, which is also found in the Pannasa Jataka.Another significant characteristic of Jataka Literature found in Phrommachak is the influence of the concept of Karma which influences the behavior of each character who commits good and bad deeds and has to deal with the consequences. Nobody is exempt from the law of Karma. This serves as a lesson to teach the audience to adhere to morality.The character of the Bodhisattva in Phrommachak is clearly adapted to comply with the characteristic of Jataka Literature. Rama is altered from a great heroic warrior in the original story to a Bodhisattva who fulfills perfection to attain Buddhahood. To idealize the Bodhisattva, immoral behaviors such as killing or committing bad deeds are avoided. The idealized Bodhisattva in Phrommachak is created in order to promote faith in Buddhism among its audiences. He is an exemplary figure for Buddhists to emulate.	en
