| Abstract: | ณัชพล บุญประเสริฐกิจ : มนุษย์กับเทคโนโลยีในบันเทิงคดีแนววิทยาศาสตร์กลุ่มไซเบอร์พังก์ของ วิลเลียม กิบสัน. (MAN AND TECHNOLOGY IN THE CYBERPUNK SCIENCE FICTION OF WILLIAM GIBSON) อ. ที่ปรึกษา : อ.ดร. สุรเดช โชติอุดมพันธ์, 184 หน้า. วิทยานิพนธ์ฉบับนี้ มีวัตถุประสงค์หลัก 2 ประการ คือ ประการแรก เพื่อศึกษาพัฒนาการของบันเทิงคดีแนววิทยาศาสตร์กลุ่มไซเบอร์พังก์ ประการที่สอง เพื่อศึกษาความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างมนุษย์กับเทคโนโลยีใน บันเทิงคดีแนววิทยาศาสตร์ชุดสามเรื่องสปรอว์ล และเรื่อง แพทเทิน เรคอคนิชัน ของวิลเลียม กิบสัน และผลกระทบของเทคโนโลยีต่อสภาพร่างกายและจิตใจมนุษย์ ผลการวิจัยสรุปได้ว่าเทคโนโลยีในบันเทิงคดีแนววิทยาศาสตร์กลุ่มไซเบอร์พังก์สัมพันธ์กับการพัฒนาวิทยาศาสตร์และเทคโนโลยีในโลกภายนอก ความซับซ้อนของการใช้งานเทคโนโลยีในงานกลุ่มไซเบอร์พังก์มีมากกว่าผลงานในยุคก่อนหน้า เครือข่ายคอมพิวเตอร์ขนาดใหญ่เปิดโอกาสให้สร้างพื้นที่ใหม่คือไซเบอร์สเปซ ในชุดสามเรื่องสปรอว์ลเทคโนโลยีไซเบอร์เนติกส์เอื้ออำนวยให้เชื่อมต่อเครื่องจักรกับร่างกายมนุษย์และผนวกมนุษย์เข้ากับเครือข่ายคอมพิวเตอร์เพื่อการใช้งานไซเบอร์สเปซแบบใหม่ที่มีชื่อว่าเมทริกซ์ ความก้าวหน้าทางวิศวกรรมเปลี่ยนแปลงสภาพเมืองและสร้างเมืองใหม่ในอวกาศ การพึ่งพาเทคโนโลยีในหลากหลายรูปแบบทำให้มนุษย์เกิดอาการเสพติดและอาการแปลกแยกขึ้น ในบันเทิงคดีแนววิทยาศาสตร์ของวิลเลียม กิบสันมนุษย์ถูกละเมิดและลดทอนความเป็นส่วนตัวจากเทคโนโลยีโดยตรงหรือผู้อื่นใช้เทคโนโลยีเป็นเครื่องมือ เทคโนโลยีทางการแพทย์เปลี่ยนแปลงความคิดเรื่องอัตลักษณ์หนึ่งเดียวและเป็นสาเหตุหนึ่งของการหลอกลวงและแสวงหาผลประโยชน์จากอัตลักษณ์ผู้อื่น การศึกษาบันเทิงคดีแนววิทยาศาสตร์กลุ่มไซเบอร์พังก์จึงทำให้เข้าใจปฏิสัมพันธ์ระหว่างมนุษย์และเทคโนโลยีในสังคม รวมทั้งทำให้เกิดการตระหนักต่อการใช้งานเทคโนโลยีที่ล้ำหน้าและอิทธิพลที่เทคโนโลยีมีต่อมนุษย์ |
| Other Abstract: | This thesis has two main objectives: to investigate the development of cyberpunk as a science fiction genre and to study the relationship between man and technology in the Sprawl Trilogy and Pattern Recognition by William Gibson and the impact of technology on the human body and mind. The study shows that there are complex relationships between science and technology in cyberpunk fiction and scientific and technological advances in the outside world. The use of technology in cyberpunk fiction is more sophisticated than science fiction of former eras. The emergence of computer networks paves the way for the creation of cyberspace. In the Sprawl Trilogy cybernetic technology makes the combination of man/machine possible. Moreover, these inventions have played an important role in attaching man to the new enormous computer network called The Matrix. This futuristic engineering changes urban landscape and builds space colonies. Humans rely on technologies which have in turn made them addicted and alienated. In Gibson’s science fiction human privacy is invaded by technology either directly or indirectly. In addition, medical technology has destroyed the concept of fixed identity and is one of the causes of deception and exploitative use of other’s identities. The study of cyberpunk fiction enhances the understanding of interactions between man and technology in society and raises the level of awareness of how technology and man are deeply interrelated. |
