| Abstract: | การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อวิเคราะห์ความหมาย ลักษณะทางวากยสัมพันธ์ และการขยายความหมายของคำกริยา kàn “ดู” ในภาษาจีนกลาง ตลอดจนการเปรียบเทียบคำกริยา kàn “ดู” ในภาษาจีนกลางกับคำว่า “ดู” ในภาษาไทย การวิจัยในครั้งนี้ใช้ทฤษฎีคำหลายความหมายอย่างมีหลักการของไทเลอร์และอีแวนส์กับทฤษฎีสี่ประเภทของคำหลายความหมายของไรเมอร์ ผลการวิจัย พบว่า คำกริยา kàn “ดู” ในภาษาจีนกลางมีทั้งหมด 11 ความหมาย คือ ความหมายพื้นฐาน “ใช้สายตาสัมผัสรับรู้เป้าหมายโดยตรง” และความหมายที่ขยายจากความหมายพื้นฐานอีก 10 ความหมาย คือ ความหมาย “อ่าน” “ชม” “ดูแลเอาใจใส่” “เยี่ยมเยียน” “ตรวจรักษา” “สังเกตหรือตรวจสอบ” “คิดว่า” “อยู่ที่หรือขึ้นอยู่กับ” ทำนาย” และ “บอกหรือเตือน” โดยมี 5 ความหมาย คือ ความหมาย “อ่าน” “ชม” “ดูแลเอาใจใส่” “ตรวจรักษา” และ “ทำนาย” มีลักษณะทางวากยสัมพันธ์คล้ายคลึงกับลักษณะทางวากยสัมพันธ์ที่เป็นความหมายพื้นฐาน ส่วนอีก 5 ความหมาย คือ ความหมาย “เยี่ยมเยียน” “สังเกตหรือตรวจสอบ” “คิดว่า” “อยู่ที่หรือขึ้นอยู่กับ” และ “บอกหรือเตือน” มีลักษณะทางวากยสัมพันธ์แตกต่างจากลักษณะทางวากยสัมพันธ์ที่เป็นความหมายพื้นฐาน ทั้งนี้ความหมายที่ขยายจากความหมายพื้นฐานทั้ง 10 ความหมายนั้นเกิดจากกระบวนการอุปลักษณ์และกระบวนการนามนัย สำหรับการเปรียบเทียบคำกริยา kàn “ดู” ในภาษาจีนกลางกับคำว่า “ดู” ในภาษาไทยนั้น มีความหมายและลักษณะทางวากยสัมพันธ์เหมือนกัน 10 ความหมาย คือ ความหมาย “ใช้สายตาสัมผัสรับรู้เป้าหมายโดยตรง” “อ่าน” “ชม” “ดูแลเอาใจใส่” “เยี่ยมเยียน” “ตรวจรักษา” “สังเกตหรือตรวจสอบ” “คิดว่า” “อยู่ที่หรือขึ้นอยู่กับ” และ “ทำนาย” และแตกต่างกัน 3 ความหมาย คือ ความหมาย “บอกหรือเตือน” “เห็นจะ” และ “ศึกษา” ส่วนการขยายความหมายของคำว่า “ดู” ในภาษาไทยเกิดจากกระบวนการอุปลักษณ์และกระบวนการนามนัยเช่นเดียวกันกับคำกริยา kàn “ดู” ในภาษาจีนกลาง |
| Other Abstract: | The purposes of this research are to analyze the meaning, syntactic features and semantic extension of the verb “kan” in Mandarin Chinese and to compare it with /duu/ in Thai. The research is based on the theory of Principled Polysemy of Tyler and Evans and the theory of Four Category of Polysemy of Riemer. The results showed that the verb “kan” in Mandarin Chinese has altogether eleven meanings. The basic meaning is “using an eye directly to the target” and the other ten meanings are extended from the basic meaning; “to read”, “to view”, “to take care”, “to visit”, “to treat”, “to observe and verify”, “to think”, “depend on”, “to predict” and “to tell and warn”. As for the five meanings; “to read”, “to view”, “to take care”, “to treat” and “to predict”, their syntactic features are similar to the basic meaning. Whereas, the other five meanings; “to visit”, “to observe and verify”, “to think”, “depend on” and “to tell and warn”, have different syntactic features from its basic meaning. Also, the ten extended meanings are activated by metaphoric and metonymic process. Regarding the meanings and the syntactic features of the verb “kan” in Mandarin Chinese and /duu/ in Thai, there are ten meanings in common; which are “using an eye directly to the target”, “to read”, “to view”, “to take care”, “to visit”, “to treat”, “to observe and verify”, “to think”, “depend on” and “to predict”. However, there are also three more different meanings; which are “to tell and warn”, “to seem” and “to study”. The semantic extension /duu/ in Thai is activated by metaphoric and metonymic process that are the same as the verb “kan” in Mandarin Chinese. |
