| Abstract: | การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีจุดมุ่งหมายเพื่อศึกษาถึงหน้าที่ประโยชน์ของพิธีกรรมฟ้อนผีในจังหวัดลำปาง และบทบาทของพิธีกรรมที่มีผลต่อการจัดระเบียบสังคม ผลการวิจัยพบว่า พิธีกรรมฟ้อนผีมีหน้าที่ประโยชน์ที่สำคัญคือ เป็นสิ่งยึดเหนี่ยวจิตใจของคนในกลุ่มตระกูลที่ประกอบพิธีกรรมโดยมีผีบรรพบุรุษหรือที่เรียกว่าผีปู่ย่า เป็นศูนย์รวมจิตใจของคนในกลุ่มตระกูลช่วยเป็นกำลังใจในการแก้ปัญหาและเอาชนะอุปสรรคต่างๆ ในด้านการจัดระเบียบสังคม พิธีกรรมมีบทบาทในการควบคุมความประพฤติของคนในกลุ่มตระกูลให้ประพฤติปฎิบัติตนเป็นคนดี ยึดมั่นในหลักคำสอนของศาสนา โดยใช้อำนาจของสิ่งศักดิ์สิทธิ์และความเชื่อเรื่องผีปู่ย่ามาควบคุมคนในสังคม พิธีกรรมช่วยขจัดปัญหาความขัดแย้งของคนในกลุ่มตระกูล สร้างความร่วมมือและความสามัคคีให้เกิดขึ้นภายในกลุ่ม นอกจากนั้นพิธีกรรมยังเป็นการแสดงถึงอดีตของกลุ่มตระกูลที่ประกอบพิธีกรรมว่าได้สืบเชื้อสายมากจากชนชั้นเจ้าหรือนักรบในอดีต และพิธีกรรมยังได้เปิดโอกาสให้ผู้หญิงได้ปลดปล่อยอารมณ์ แสดงออกในสิ่งที่ตรงข้ามกับการปฏิบัติในชีวิตประจำวันของตน |
| Other Abstract: | This study is an attempt to make a study research into the ritual’s functional role over social organization among the ancestor worshipping group. It has been discovered that the "Fon Pee" rituals have two main functions. The first one is to serve as a mental binding force for members of the group sharing the same ancestral spirit of "Pee Pou Ya" which has become the spiritual center of all descendants. Secondly, they serve as a behavioural control over the lineage’s members making them well behaved socially and religiously having in their minds the sacred power and mysterious faith in the "Pee Pou Ya". The "Fon Pee" rituals help eliminate conflicts among kin members, create cooperation and unity within the group. Last but not least, they are reflections of the lineage’s past : a noble line of succession from the warriors or the ruling class. Also, they are opportunities for the female to release emotion, an act of relief quite opposite to the practice in their daily lives. |
