| Abstract: | วิทยานิพนธ์ฉบับนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาการสืบทอดเนื้อหาและแนวคิด กลวิธีการเล่าเรื่องและรูปแบบการนำเสนอ รวมถึงความสำคัญของเรื่องเล่าทศชาติชาดกในสังคมไทยร่วมสมัย ผู้วิจัยเลือกศึกษาจากเรื่องเล่าทศชาติชาดกที่สร้างสรรค์ขึ้นระหว่างพ.ศ. 2500-พ.ศ. 2556 ผลการศึกษาพบว่า เรื่องเล่าทศชาติชาดกเป็นวรรณคดีชาดกสมัยใหม่มีทั้งที่เล่าชาดกเพียงหนึ่งเรื่องหรือเล่าเป็นชุดชาดกทั้งสิบเรื่อง โดยใช้รูปแบบการนำเสนอและกลวิธีเล่าเรื่องหลากหลาย ได้แก่ 1) รูปแบบร้อยกรองขนาดยาว และ 2) รูปแบบร้อยแก้ว ใช้บทพรรณนากับภาษาจินตภาพสร้างอารมณ์สะเทือนใจและสร้างรสทางวรรณคดี 3) รูปแบบหนังสือภาพประกอบเรื่อง มีการดัดแปลงเนื้อหาและการสร้างสรรค์ภาพประกอบ ทำให้เห็นความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างภาพจิตรกรรมกับการเล่า ทศชาติชาดก และ 4) รูปแบบการ์ตูนกับการ์ตูนแอนิเมชัน มีการดัดแปลงเนื้อหาและลดรายละเอียดต่าง ๆ มีการปรับเปลี่ยนบุคลิกลักษณะและการเพิ่มลดตัวละคร เรื่องเล่าทศชาติชาดกทุกรูปแบบแสดงการสืบทอดเรื่องทศชาติชาดก และแนวคิดทศบารมีในสังคมไทย ทั้งในความหมายที่เป็นบารมีของพระโพธิสัตว์และคุณธรรมที่บุคคลทั่วไปสามารถปฏิบัติตามได้ นอกจากนี้ ยังแสดงการสืบทอด ขนบวรรณคดีที่สัมพันธ์กับชาดก ได้แก่ การสืบทอดขนบการสร้างงานเพื่อสร้างกุศล การสืบทอดขนบการบูชาครู ขนบการเฉลิมพระเกียรติ ขนบวรรณคดีคำสอน การคงปัจจุบันวัตถุและสโมธานตาม อรรถกถาชาดก การใช้ฉันทลักษณ์ และการใช้กลวิธีทางวรรณศิลป์ต่าง ๆ ขณะเดียวกันก็มีการสร้างสรรค์ใหม่เพื่อตอบสนองวัตถุประสงค์และกลุ่มผู้อ่านที่หลากหลายมากขึ้น เรื่องเล่าทศชาติชาดกบางเรื่องมีการตีความใหม่ที่ต่างไปจากเดิม แต่ยังคงอยู่ในกรอบของการสร้างอุดมคติหรือการใช้ชาดกเพื่อถ่ายทอดแนวคิดคำสอนทางพระพุทธศาสนา เรื่องเล่าทศชาติชาดกเหล่านี้จึงแสดงให้เห็นว่า ทศชาติชาดกเป็นที่มาสำคัญที่ทำให้เกิดการสร้างสรรค์วรรณคดีพระพุทธศาสนาสมัยใหม่ที่มีบทบาทในการปลูกฝังแนวคิดและคำสอน พลวัตของการสืบทอดขนบและการสร้างสรรค์สิ่งใหม่เพื่อให้วรรณคดีชาดกยังคงดำรงคุณค่าอยู่ท่ามกลางความเปลี่ยนแปลงของยุคสมัยในฐานะเครื่องอบรมปัญญาอันเป็นอุดมคติสูงสุดของพระพุทธศาสนา |
| Other Abstract: | This dissertation aims at studying content, concept, narrating techniques, forms, and significance of the Thosachat Jatakas narratives (the Ten Jatakas) in contemporary Thai society. The data chosen are such narratives written during 1957-2013. The study finds that the Thosachat Jatakas narratives are modern jataka literature which are composed both as a separate single story or as a whole set of ten story in various forms with many narrating techniques: 1) long verse and 2) prose in which they use the delineation and imagery to create literary emotions and rasas; 3) picture book in which content of the stories is adapted and pictures are combined to narrate the jataka stories, and reflects the relation between murals or paintings and the Thosachat Jatakas narration; 4) cartoon and animation in which content and some details including characters are adapted, added and removed. The Thosachat Jatakas narratives, in any forms, demonstrate the transmission of stories of the Ten Jatakas from the Jataka-atthakatha and the concept of the Ten Paramis, both as the bodhisatta path and as virtues for common people to emulate and practice, in Thai society. Also, the narratives reflect Thai literary convention concerning jataka literature, namely composing literature as meritorious act, venerating classical literature and poets as teachers or khru, eulogizing and paying tribute to the monarch, writing didactic literature, using the narrative structure of the Jataka-atthakatha, and using verse forms and literary techniques. Meanwhile, the Thosachat Jatakas narratives also reflect some creativities in order to serve more purposes and various groups of audience. Some narratives maybe re-reinterpreted but not beyond the border of conveying ideal Buddhist concept and teaching. The Thosachat Jatakas narratives, therefore, demonstrate that the Ten Jatakas are significant source of modern Buddhist literature. They not only has an important didactic function, but also show dynamic process of inheriting traditional literary convention and creating novelties in order to maintain the value of jataka literature as a great ship bringing people in the contemporary society to reach the shore of ultimate wisdom. |
