| Abstract: | การวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ (1) เปรียบเทียบความเร้าใจในการอ่านเนื้อเรื่องภาษาอังกฤษที่เหมาะกับเพศ ระหว่างนักศึกษาชายและนักศึกษาหญิงชั้นปีที่ 1 และ (2) เปรียบเทียบความเร้าใจในการอ่านเนื้อเรื่องภาษาอังกฤษที่เหมาะกับเพศ ระหว่างนักศึกษาชายและนักศึกษาหญิงชั้นปีที่ 1 ที่มีผลสัมฤทธิ์ทางการเรียนภาษาอังกฤษในระดับสูงและตํ่า ตัวอย่างประชากรคือนักศึกษาชั้นปีที่ 1 ปีการศึกษา 2544 มหาวิทยาลัยธรรมศาสตร์ ที่ลงทะเบียนเรียนรายวิชา EL 172 ENGLISH COURSE 3 เป็นนักศึกษาชาย 99 คน นักศึกษาหญิง 102 คน รวมตัวอย่างประชากร 201 คน เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัยได้แก่ แบบสอบความเร้าใจในการอ่านเนื้อเรื่องภาษาอังกฤษที่เหมาะกับเพศ และแบบสัมภาษณ์ข้อมูลเกี่ยวกับความเร้าใจในการอ่านเนื้อเรื่องภาษาอังกฤษที่ เหมาะกับเพศที่ผู้วิจัยสร้างขึ้น ซึ่งได้รับการตรวจรอบความตรงเชิงเนื้อหาจากผู้ทรงคุณวุฒิ 3 ท่าน หลังจากนั้นจึงนำใปทดลองใช้ 2 ครั้งกับนักศึกษาชั้นปีที่ 1 ที่ไม่ใช่ตัวอย่างประชากร ผู้วิจัยวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลโดยใช้คอมพิวเตอร์โปรแกรมสำเร็จรูปทางสังคมศาสตร์ (SPSS) หาค่ามัชฌิมเลขคณิต ค่าส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน และเปรียบเทียบค่ามัชฌิมเลขคณิต ที่ได้โดยการทดสอบค่าที (t-test) ผลการวิจัยสรุปได้ดังนี้ 1. นักศึกษาชาย มีความเร้าใจในการอ่านเนื้อเรื่องภาษาอังกฤษที่เหมาะกับเพศชาย มากกว่านักศึกษาหญิง อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05 2. นักศึกษาหญิง มีความเข้าใจในการอ่านเนื้อเรื่องภาษาอังกฤษที่เหมาะกับเพศหญิง มากกว่านักศึกษาชาย อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05 3. นักศึกษาชายที่มีผลสัมฤทธิ์ทางการเรียนภาษาอังกฤษในระดับสูง มีความเข้าใจในการอ่านเนื้อเรื่องภาษาอังกฤษที่เหมาะกับเพศชายมากกว่านักศึกษาหญิงที่มีผลสัมฤทธิ์ทางการเรียนภาษาอังกฤษในระดับสูงอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05 4. นักศึกษาชายที่มีผลสัมฤทธิ์ทางการเรียนภาษาอังกฤษในระดับตํ่า มีความเข้าใจในการอ่านเนื้อเรื่องภาษาอังกฤษที่เหมาะกับเพศชายมากกว่านักศึกษาหญิงที่มีผลสัมฤทธิ์ทางการเรียนภาษาอังกฤษในระดับตํ่าอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05 5. นักศึกษาหญิงที่มีผลสัมฤทธิ์ทางการเรียนภาษาอังกฤษในระดับสูง มีดวามเข้าใจในการอ่านเนื้อเรื่องภาษาอังกฤษที่เหมาะกับเพศหญิงมากกว่านักศึกษาชายที่มีผลสัมฤทธิ์ทางการเรียนภาษาอังกฤษในระดับสูงอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05 6. นักศึกษาหญิงที่มีผลสัมฤทธิ์ทางการเรียนภาษาอังกฤษในระดับตํ่า มีความเข้าใจในการอ่านเนื้อเรื่องภาษาอังกฤษที่เหมาะกับเพศหญิงมากกว่านักศึกษาชายที่มีผลสัมฤทธิ์ทางการเรียนภาษาอังกฤษในระดับตํ่าอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05 |
| Other Abstract: | The purposes of this study were (1) to compare the English reading comprehension in gender-oriented content between male and female first-year college students and (2) to compare the English reading comprehension in gender-oriented content between male and female first-year college students at high and low levels of English learning achievement. The sample of the study was two - hundred and one first-year college students who enrolled ENGLISH COURSE 3 at Thammasat University. The instruments used in this study were the test of English reading comprehension in gender-oriented content and a structured interview. The test was constructed by the researcher. Its content validity had been approved by three specialists and tried out twice with the first year college students who were not the samples. The data were analyzed by the SPSS programme using arithmetic mean, standard deviation and t-test. The results of the study were as follows : 1. Male students had higher scores on the English reading comprehension test in male-oriented content than female students at .05 level of significance. 2. Female students had higher scores on the English reading comprehension test in female-oriented content than male students at .05 level of significance. 3. Male students at the high levels of English learning achievement had higher scores on the English reading comprehension test in male-oriented content than female students at the high levels of English learning achievement at .05 level of significance. 4. Male students at the low levels of English learning achievement had higher scores on the English reading comprehension test in male-oriented content than female students at the low levels of English learning achievement at .05 level of significance. 5. Female students at the high levels of English learning achievement had higher scores on the English reading comprehension test in female-oriented content than male students at the high levels of English learning achievement at .05 level of significance. 6. Female students at the low levels of English learning achievement had higher scores on the English reading comprehension test in female-oriented content than male students at the low levels of English learning achievement at .05 level of significance. |
