| Abstract: | การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์ 3 ประการคือ 1) เพื่อศึกษาการคัดเลือกข่าวสิ่งแวดล้อมจากแหล่งข่าวต่างประเทศทางสถานีโทรทัศน์ไทย 2) เพื่อศึกษาประเด็นและลักษณะเนื้อหาข่าวสิ่งแวดล้อมต่างประเทศของสถานีโทรทัศน์แต่ละช่อง 3) เพื่อศึกษาปัจจัยที่มีอิทธิพลต่อการคัดเลือกและนำเสนอข่าวสิ่งแวดล้อมต่างประเทศ เก็บรวบรวมข้อมูลโดยวิธีการวิเคราะห์เนื้อหาจากสถานีโทรทัศน์ไทย 6 ช่อง ได้แก่ ช่อง 3, 5, 7, 9, 11 และช่องไอทีวี ที่นำเสนอในช่วงเดือนมีนาคม-กรกฎาคม 2542 และจากการสำรวจปริมาณข่าวที่แหล่งข่าวส่งเข้ามาตลอดระยะเวลา 1 ปี โดยศึกษาช่อง 5 และสำนักข่าวรอยเตอร์ ระหว่างวันที่ 1 มกราคม - 31 ธันวาคม 2541 รวมทั้งการสัมภาษณ์เจาะลึกบรรณาธิการข่าวต่างประเทศ และเจ้าหน้าที่แปล การวิเคราะห์ใช้การระบุความถี่ ร้อยละและใช้การวิเคราะห์ความแปรปรวนสมมติฐาน ผลการวิจัยพบว่า 1. สถานีโทรทัศน์ไทยทั้ง 6 ช่อง คัดเลือกข่าวสิ่งแวดล้อมต่างประเทศออกอากาศในปริมาณมากเป็นอันดับ 3-4 จากประเด็นข่าวต่างประเทศที่แบ่งออกเป็น 6 ประเด็น และเมื่อเทียบกับงานวิจัยเรื่องข่าวต่างประเทศในปี 2534 จะพบว่าปัจจุบันโทรทัศน์ไทยให้ความสำคัญกับประเด็นข่าวสิ่งแวดล้อมต่างประเทศใกล้เคียงกับประเด็นข่าวอื่น และมีความหลากหลายของข่าวมากขึ้นกว่าอดีต 2. จากประเด็นเนื้อหาข่าวสิ่งแวดล้อมต่างประเทศ 5 ประเภทคือ ภัยพิบัติจากธรรมชาติภัยพิบัติที่มีปฏิกิริยาทางเคมี การทำลายทรัพยากรธรรมชาติ เรื่องราวเกี่ยวกับสัตว์และการเคลื่อนไหวขององค์กรสิ่งแวดล้อม ซึ่งรวมถึงการประชุมและรายงานสภาพสิ่งแวดล้อมพบว่าอันดับแรกเป็นข่าวภัยพิบัติจากธรรมชาติ อันดับสองคือเรื่องราวเกี่ยวกับสัตว์ ตามด้วยภัยพิบัติที่มีปฏิกิริยาทางเคมี การเคลื่อนไหวขององค์กรสิ่งแวดล้อมและการทำลายทรัพยากรธรรมชาติตามลำดับ อย่างไรก็ตาม ปริมาณข่าวเกี่ยวกับความเคลื่อนไหวด้านสิ่งแวดล้อมและภัยพิบัติจากน้ำมือมนุษย์ที่ออกอากาศเพิ่มจำนวนขึ้น แสดงว่าประเด็นการนำเสนอข่าวสิ่งแวดล้อมต่างประเทศของโทรทัศน์ไทยเริ่มให้ความสนใจประเด็นการเตือนภัยมากขึ้น เช่น การเคลื่อนไหวต่อต้านขององค์กรอนุรักษ์ผลรายงานสภาพแวดล้อม เป็นต้น 3. ปัจจัยที่ส่งผลต่อการคัดเลือกและกำหนดประเด็นข่าวสิ่งแวดล้อมต่างประเทศ แบ่งเป็นปัจจัยภายในองค์กร ได้แก่ นโยบายของสถานี ช่วงเวลานำเสนอ บรรณาธิการประจำวัน บรรณาธิการอาวุโสและเจ้าหน้าที่แปล ปัจจัยภายนอกองค์กรได้แก่ แหล่งข่าว คุณค่าข่าว สถานการณ์ด้านสิ่งแวดล้อมโลกและการนำเสนอข่าวของโทรทัศน์คู่แข่ง |
| Other Abstract: | This study has concentrated on Thai TV coverage of international environmental news stories. Television channels 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, and ITV environmental subject coverage ,content of story characteristics and factors influencing the process are addressed. Content analysis, the technique of the study, aims at a quantitative classification of subjects covered by the Thai television. The period for the study covers May through August of 1999. The study also surveys international environmental news coverage, by frequency of stories, during 1998 by sampling Channel 5and international agency Reuters. Influencial factors were determined through in-depth interviews of TV editors and news translator Data analysis was determined by frequency and percentage. Results of the study shows that 1. Out of 6 categories of selected broadcasting international news, environment. coverage was 3rd and 4 th on the list in terms of quantity of stories. Research comparisons of international news coverage of 1991 show an increase and wider variety of coverage by Thai television. 2. Of 5 categories selected for broadcasting of international environmental news natural disasters was tops with wildlife issues coming in second followed by chemical accidents, environmental activities and spoiling of natural resources respectively. The increased coverage of environmental organization activities and chemical disasters show the direct of Thai TV. 3. Two potential factors affecting the selection and presentation process of international environmental news are internal TV channel choices and external forces. Internal factors are the stations ideals and policies, time of story presentation, daily editor inputs, senior editors, and translation of the news. External factors include international new agency coverage, decisions, and stance on issues. Situational awareness of national issues compared with world problems and coverage by other competing channel influence the selection process. |
