| Abstract: | การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อวิเคราะห์เนื้อหาที่แสดง ลักษณะไทย และ ลักษณะตะวันตก ที่ปรากฎในสื่อนวนิยายเรื่อง กาเหว่าที่บางเพลง และ The Midwich Cuckoos วิเคราะห์เนื้อหาที่แสดงลักษณะไทย และ ลักษณะตะวันตกในสื่อภาพยนตร์เรื่อง กาเหว่าที่บางเพลง และ Village of the Damned โดยใช้แนวการวิเคราะห์การเล่าเรื่อง (Narration) จากรูปแบบ (genre) ที่เป็นแนววิทยาศาสตร์ รวมถึงการใช้แนวคิดเรื่องเอกลักษณ์ทางวัฒนธรรมในการวิเคราะห์ และศึกษาการรับรู้ ลักษณะไทย ในกาพยนตร์เรื่อง กาเหว่าที่บางเพลง จากทัศนะของผู้รับสารโดยศึกษาจากการทำสนทนากลุ่ม (Focus Group Interview) ผลการวิจัยพบว่า ในสื่อนวนิยายทั้งสองเรื่องมีลักษณะทางวัฒนธรรมในด้านความคิดที่คล้ายคลึงก้นอยู่ 3 ประการ คือ (ก) อธิบายปรากฏการณ์ที่เกิดขึ้นโดยการเชื่อมโยงกับธรรมชาติ (ข) ความรักของแม่ (ค) แนวคิดเรื่องผลการกระทำ ซึ่งหมายถึงผลที่ตามมาจากการกระทำของตน กรรม และ Judgement แต่ยังคงมีความแตกต่างกันในเรื่องของลักษณะทางการกระทำและความคิดที่ลักษณะไทยจะสะท้อนความคิดที่เกี่ยวข้องกับหลักพุทธศาสนาในเรื่องความไม่มีตัวตนที่แท้จริง และหลักความจริงของศาสนาอยู่เหนือความจริงทางวิทยาศาสตร์ในขณะที่ลักษณะตะวันตกการแสดงออกและการกระทำสะท้อนความคิดที่ยึดถือตัวตนเป็นหลัก เมื่อดัดแปลงนวนิยายทั้งสองเรื่องในรูปแบบของสื่อภาพยนตร์ผลการวิจัยพบว่า ภาพยนตร์ไทยคงรูปแบบและเนื้อหาทางวัฒนธรรม ในขณะที่ภาพยนตร์อเมริกันเปลี่ยนแปลงรูปแบบและเนื้อหาจากสื่อเดิมในเรื่อง ของการเล่าเรื่อง (Narration) และชื่อเรื่อง แต่ยังคงเรื่องของการเสียสละไว้อยู่ และสุดท้ายเมื่อศึกษาทัศนะกลุ่ม ผู้รับสารวัยรุ่นทั้งในกรุงเทพมหานครและต่างจังหวัดพบว่า ความแตกต่างในถิ่นที่อยู่อาศัยไม่ทำให้ผู้รับสารรับรู้ ถึงลักษณะไทยแตกต่างกัน และไม่ได้ขัดขวางการเปรียบเทียบลักษณะไทยกับลักษณะทางวัฒนธรรมอื่นได้แต่ระดับอายุ และการศึกษาจะทำให้ผู้รับสารตีความภาพยนตร์ที่ชมแตกต่างกันออกไป กลุ่มผู้รับสารในกรุงเทพมหานครตีความลักษณะของมนุษย์ต่างดาวในแง่ดี ส่วนผู้รับสารในต่างจังหวัดรับรู้สภาพความเปลี่ยนแปลงทางวัฒนธรรมไทยได้มากกว่าผู้รับสารในกรุงเทพมหานคร |
| Other Abstract: | The objectives of the research were to study Thai and Western Culture through Thai novel : Kawao Tee Bang Pleng , English novel : The Midwich Cuckoos, through Thai movie : Kawao Tee Bang Pleng, American movie : Village of the Damned with an analyzed and comparative study. The concept and theoretical framework based on Genre Studies, Narrative Analysis and Cultural Identity. Moreover, this research also included the study of audience’s perception about Thai culture when viewing Thai movie by using Focus Group Interview. The scope of the study was focused on two med um : novel and movie in form of video tape in Thai and English. Findings and Conclusions : The research found that Thai and Western culture share three similarity in cultural aspects : Situation Definition, Mothernity love and Judgment of the deeds. However, these two cultures through novels are different in thought and action. In Kawao Tee Bang Pleng, Thai culture was revealed in the form of the belief in transience of life and grace deed which assist people to cope with problems while Western culture through The Midwich Cuckoos was the belief in oneself ability based on scientific thinking and sacrifice is the deed a man should be. When adapted to movies, Thai culture in novels is still maintained. Contrary to Thai movie, American movie is different from the originality about the narration and name, but still maintained the notion of the sacrifice. Finally, the study of audience’s perception at adolescent age in Bangkok and Rural reveals that the different in location does not bring Thai audience to differently perceive Thai culture and does not obstacle to differentiate its culture to others’. The audience in Bangkok has optimistic viewpoint towards aliens while the audience in rural perceived the change of Thai culture in the real world and on the screen. |
