| Abstract: | ละครซ้อนละคร (play-within-a-play) เป็นกลวิธีการประพันธ์ที่ปรากฎในบทละครสันสกฤตเรื่องปริยทรรศิกา (Priyadrska) และพาลรามายณะ (Balaramayana) นักวรรณคดีสันสกฤตจำกัดความละครซ้อนในละครสันสกฤตแตกต่างกัน วิทยานิพนธ์เรื่องนี้มุ่งศึกษาลักษณะเฉพาะของละครซ้อนละคนในละครสันสกฤตทั้งสองเรื่อง พร้อมทั้งศึกษาบทบาทและความสำคัญที่ละครซ้อนแต่ละเรื่องมีต่อละครเรื่องหลัก ผลการศึกษาพบว่า มีคำอธิบาย "ละครซ้อนละคร" ในทฤษฎีการละครสันสกฤตเรื่อง สาหิตยทรรปณะ (Sahityadarpana) เรียกว่า ครรภางกะ (garbhanka) คือ ละครเล็กที่แทรกอยู่ในละครใหญ่อีกเรื่องหนึ่ง มีบทเกริ่นนำ เนื่อเรื่อง และตอนจบของตนเอง จากนิยายดังกล่าวนำมาวิเคราะห์ละครซ้อนละครในปริยทรรศิกาและพาลรามายณะ ได้ผลว่า ละครทั้งสองเรื่องมีบทเกริ่นนำของตนเอง เรื่องปริทรรศิกามีนายโรงแนะนำละครซ้อนชื่อ "อุทัยนจริต" (Udayanacarita) เนื้อเรื่องแสดงความรักระหว่างพระเจ้าอุทัยน์ (วัตสราช) กับเทวีวาสวทัตตา แต่พระเจ้าอุทัยน์ที่ปลอมตนมาเล่นละครเป็นตนเองพลอดรักกับนางเอกจนเทวีวาสวทัตตาไม่อาจทนดูละครต่อได้จึ่งสั่งให้หยุดเล่น ละคนซ้อนเรื่องนี้จึ่งไม่มีตอนจบ ส่วนละครซ้อนละครในพาลรามายณะ ชื่อว่า "สีตาสวยัมวระ" (Sitasvayamvara) การเลือกคู่ของนางสีดา มีบทเกริ่นนำ เนื้อเรื่องเป็นการประลองยกธนูพระศิวะ พระรามสามารถยกได้พร้อมหักธนูและจัดพิธีอภิเษกสมรส ในเรื่องนี้มีบทอวยพรตอนจบเรื่อง ซึ่งสอดคล้องตามคำอธิบายในสาหิตยทรรปณะ บทบาทและความสำคัญของละครซ้อนต่อละครเรื่องหลัก ในบริบทของการพัฒนาปมเรื่อง ทำให้เรื่องเข้มข้นขึ้น ส่วนในบริบทการพัฒนารสและภาวะ ละครซ้อนเสริมให้ผู้ชมรับรู้รสซ้อนกัน แบ่งเป็นสองขั้น คือ รสของผู้ชมในละคร (ตัวละครที่เล่นเป็นผู้ชม) และรสของผู้ชมภายนอก (ผู้ชมจริง) |
| Other Abstract: | The play-within-a-play is a literary device in Sanskrit dramas: Priyadarsika and Balaramayana. Its terms and definitions have been variously defined by Sanskrit literature scholars. This thesis aimed at studying the characteristics of play-within-a-play in both aforementioned dramas and finding out the influences of play-within-a-play on the principal plays. The findings showed that play-within-a-play call "garbhanka" was stated in Sahityadarpana (6.20), a Sanskrit drama treaty, as a small play inside another play with its own prologue, eqisode, and eding Due to the definition above, the researcher analyzed the play-within-a-play in Priyadarsika and balaramayana. It was found that both plays had their own prologues. In Priyadarsika, a chamberlain introduced "Udayanacarita" reqresenting the courtship of Udayana (Vatsaraja) and vasavadatta, but the king disguised as himself in the play expressing his love to priyadarsika so exaggeratedly that Vasavadatta felt undearable to see and broke up the play. Thus, this play-within-a-play has no ending. Similarly, Balaramayana's play-within-a-play called "Sitasvayamvara", Sita's own choice, also had a prologue. The eqisode was about lifting Siva's bow challenge. Rama won and broke the bow. Then the wedding had been held. This play-within-a-play had its own ending as stated in Sahityadarpana. The influence of play-within-a-play upon the principal plays was to emphasize dramatic action in context of plot development. On the other hand, in the context of rasa and bhava development the play-within-a-play incited the audience to experience mixed sentiment (rasa) divided into 2 levels: sentiment of internal audience (the character as an audience) and sentiment of external audience (actual audience) |
