| Abstract: | งานวิจัยนี้ศึกษาการแปรของ (kh) ในภาษาไทยกรุงเทพฯ ตามตัวแปรสัทบริบทและตัวแปรสังคม ตัวแปรสัทบริบทที่ศึกษา ได้แก่ การลงเสียงหนักเบา และเสียงที่ตามมา ซึ่งแบ่งเป็น 3 ชุด ได้แก่ พยัญชนะกับสระ สระหน้ากับสระหลัง และสระสูงกับสระต่ำ ส่วนตัวแปรสังคมที่ศึกษาในงานวิจัยนี้ ได้แก่ อายุ คือ กลุ่มอายุน้อย (อายุ 15-25 ปี) และกลุ่มอายุมาก (อายุ 40 ปี ขึ้นไป) การศึกษานี้มีสมมติฐาน 5 ข้อ คือ 1) (kh) ในภาษาไทยกรุงเทพฯ มี 2 รูปแปร คือ [kh] และ [kxh] 2) มีการใช้รูปแปร [kxh] ในพยางค์ที่ลงเสียงหนักมากกว่าพยางค์ที่ไม่ลงเสียงหนัก 3) มีการใช้รูปแปร [kxh] เมื่อตามด้วยสระมากกว่าพยัญชนะ 4) มีการใช้รูปแปร [kxh] เมื่อตามด้วยสระหลังมากกว่าสระหน้า และเมื่อตามด้วยสระสูงมากกว่าสระต่ำ 5) มีการใช้รูปแปร [kxh] ในกลุ่มอายุน้อยมากกว่ากลุ่มอายุมาก ผู้วิจัยกำหนดเสียง /i/ แทนสระหน้า /u/ แทนสระหลังกับสระสูง และ /c/ แทนสระต่ำ ข้อมูลที่ใช้ในงานวิจัยนี้มาจากละครโทรทัศน์ โดยผู้วิจัยวิเคราะห์เสียงของนักแสดงทั้งชายและหญิง จำนวน 40 คน ที่มีคุณสมบัติตรงตามเกณฑ์ที่กำหนดไว้ ผลการศึกษา พบว่า (kh) ในภาษาไทยกรุงเทพฯ มีรูปแปร 2 รูป คือ [kh] และ [kxh] โดยรูปแปร [kh] ซึ่งเป็นรูปแปรมาตรฐาน มีอัตราการปรากฏมากกว่า [kxh] ในเกือบทุกบริบทอย่างชัดเจน เมื่อพิจารณาการปรากฏของ [kxh] พบว่า สระหน้าเป็นตัวแปรที่สำคัญที่สุดที่ทำให้เกิดรูปแปร [kxh] ตามด้วยตัวแปรการลงเสียงหนัก และอายุ ผู้วิจัยพบว่า เสียง [kxh] ปรากฏมากพอๆ กับเสียง [kh] เมื่อปรากฏหน้าสระหน้าในการพูดของกลุ่มอายุน้อย งานวิจัยนี้แสดงให้เห็นว่าสัทบริบทเป็นตัวแปรที่น่าจะศึกษาควบคู่ไปกับตัวแปรทางสังคมและการแปรของ (kh) ที่พบในงานวิจัยนี้ จัดเป็นการแปรระยะเริ่มต้น |
| Other Abstract: | This study investigates variation of (kh) in Bangkok Thai by some linguistic variables and a social variables. The linguistic variables studied are stress and three sets of following segments: consonant and vowel, front vowel and back vowel, and high vowel and low vowel. The social variable studied is age: the young group (15-25 years old) and the old group (40 years old and over). There are 5 hypotheses: 1) (kh) in Bangkok Thai has 2 variants - [kh] and [kxh]; 2) [kxh] occurs in strong syllables more frequently than in weak syllables; 3) [kxh] occurs when followed by vowels more frequently than when followed by consonants; 4) [kxh] occurs when followed by the back vowel more frequently than when followed by the front vowel, and when followed by the high vowel than when followed by the low vowel; and 5) [kxh] occurs in the speech of the young group more frequently than in the old group. The front vowel is represented by /i/, the back vowel and the high vowel by /u/, and the low vowel by /c/. The data of this research came from television mini series in the speech of 40 actors and actresses selected according to the set criteria. The results of the analysis show that there are 2 variants of (kh) in Bangkok Thai: [kh] and [kxh]. The standard variant [kh] is used more often than [kxh] in almost all contexts. It is found that the front vowel is the most important variable that influences the occurrence of [kxh], followed by the variables stress and age. The occurrence of [kxh] equals [kh] when followed by the front vowel in the speech of the young group. This research shows that linguistic context is the variable that should be investigated together with the social variables. Variation of (kh) as found in this study is at the indicator phase. |
