dc.description.abstract	สถาบันประชากรศาสตร์ได้ทำการวิจัยเพื่อปรับปรุงมาตรฐานข้อมูลประชากรในภูมิภาคเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ ให้ทันสมัยและเป็นประโยชน์ต่อวงการวิชาการและวงการธุรกิจมากขึ้น โดยศึกษาขอบข่ายธุรกิจประเภทต่างๆ ลำดับความสำคัญของภูมิภาคในการประกอบธุรกิจ ความจำเป็นในการใช้ข้อมูลประเภทต่างๆ แหล่งข้อมูลที่ใช้ในการศึกษาเพื่อวางแผนงาน ความคิดและความเห็นของนักธุรกิจเกี่ยวกับประโยชน์ของข้อมูลประเภทต่างๆ ตลอดจนข้อมูลลักษณะที่นักธุรกิจคาดว่าจะเป็นประโยชน์และควรเพิ่มเติมในฐานข้อมูล ผลการศึกษา พบว่า องค์การธุรกิจส่วนใหญ่มีขอบข่ายการดำเนินงานธุรกิจทั้งในประเทศและระหว่างประเทศ ประเทศไทยเป็นเป้าหมายอันดับหนึ่งในการประกอบธุรกิจ ประเทศในภูมิภาคอินโดจีนได้รับความสำคัญเป็นอันดับสอง แหล่งข้อมูลอันดับหนึ่งที่ผู้ตอบแบบสอบถามใช้ประโยชน์ของข้อมูลในการประกอบธุรกิจได้แก่ แหล่งข้อมูลที่เป็นหน่วยราชการ บุคคลในวงการธุรกิจและหน่วยงานธุรกิจ ส่วนข้อมูลที่มีประโยชน์ต่อการประกอบธุรกิจได้แก่ข้อมูลประเภทความหนาแน่นของประชากร อัตรา เพิ่มของประชากร จำนวนและร้อยละของประชากรในเขตเมืองและเขตชนบท แต่ระดับการเคยใช้ข้อมูลของนักธุรกิจ ยังต่ำกว่าการเห็นประโยชน์ของข้อมูลอยู่มากดังจะเห็นได้ว่าผู้ใช้ประโยชน์จากข้อมูลยังมีอยู่เป็นจำนวนน้อยมาก เมื่อเทียบกับปริมาณของข้อมูลและประโยชน์ที่จะได้รับจากข้อมูลต่างๆที่มีอยู่	en
dc.description.abstractalternative	The research was conducted by the Institute of Population Studies, Chulalongkorn University, to revise and update the information concerning populations of the countries in the Southeast Asian region of which data were collected in the form of population data base. The main purpose is to provide up-to-date data base that could be served as an advantageous and beneficial source of information for both scholars and businessmen. The study investigates the requirement of data for business planning and examines closely the scope of various kinds of businesses and regions where the business is done ranked according to areas of importance. It focuses on the various categories of data and sources of information required and used by businessmen is planning their work. The ideas and opinions of businessmen as to the usefulness of various sorts of data are taken into consideration. The businessmen were also asked to indicate the sorts of data they thought might be useful for them and should be put in the data base. The findings show that the scope of most of the business organizations in Thailand are both national and international. Thailand is the first target country in doing business. The countries is Indochina region rank second to Thailand. The major sources of information which are used by the businessmen in doing their businesses are derived from governmental organizations, persons working in business firms, and business agencies. The study reveals that the data which are useful in doing business are population density growth rate, number and percentage of population in urban and rural areas. The level of ever used of data among businessmen are relatively low compared with the level of considering the data to be useful. It is even clearly seen that the data are beneficial only for people in small number compared with the quantity and the usefulness of the data.	en
