Abstract:
อินเดียเป็นประเทศกำลังพัฒนาที่สำคัญมีการเจริญเติบโตทางเศรษฐกิจอย่างรวดเร็ว เป็นผลมาจากการใช้นโยบายเศรษฐกิจใหม่ (New Economy Policy) และนโยบายมองหาพันธมิตรทางตะวันออก (Look East Policy) ทำให้บริษัทอินเดียไปลงทุนในประเทศต่างๆมากขึ้น ประกอบกับในช่วงนั้น ไทยได้มีนโยบายมองหาพันธมิตรทางตะวันตก (Look West Policy) เช่นกันและต่อมายังได้มีการทำข้อตกลงเขตการค้าเสรีไทย-อินเดีย โดยเร่งลดภาษีในสินค้าบางส่วนทันที ส่งผลให้เกิดการลงทุนและการค้าระหว่างทั้งสองประเทศมากขึ้น การศึกษาในครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ ศึกษาถึงปัจจัยผลักดันการลงทุนของอินเดียในต่างประเทศ โดยพิจารณาว่าปัจจัยใดบ้างที่มีผลต่อการลงทุนโดยตรงของอินเดียในไทย ซึ่งวิธีการศึกษาจะใช้แบบจำลองทางเศรษฐมิติ ข้อมูลที่ใช้เป็นข้อมูลทุติยภูมิในช่วงปี 1985-2005 และได้เก็บแบบสอบถามจากบริษัทอินเดียที่มาลงทุนในไทย เพื่อนำผลการวิเคราะห์ของที่ได้ไปสนับสนุนผลที่ได้จากแบบจำลอง ผลการวิเคราะห์จากการศึกษาในครั้งนี้พบว่า ปัจจัยที่ผลักดันให้เกิดการลงทุนของอินเดียในต่างประเทศที่มีความสำคัญมากที่สุด ได้แก่ มูลค่าการส่งออกของบริษัทอินเดีย และอัตราการเปิดประเทศของอินเดีย ส่วนปัจจัยที่ดึงดูดการลงทุนของอินเดียโดยตรงในไทยที่มีความสำคัญมากที่สุด ได้แก่ อัตราการเปิดประเทศและการมีข้อตกลงเขตการค้าเสรี นอกจากนี้จากการศึกษาโดยใช้แบบสอบถามยังพบว่ามีปัจจัยอื่นๆ ที่มีผลต่อการลงทุนโดยตรงของอินเดียในไทยได้แก่ โครงสร้างพื้นฐานโดยเปรียบเทียบของทั้งสองประเทศ และการสนับสนุนจากรัฐของอินเดีย
