Abstract:
L'amour constitue l'éleraent principal dans ce récit de Proust. Le romancier analyse en détail l’état d'âme de Swann, le héros, qui tombe amoureux à Odette, une jeune femme qui fréquente le salon de Mme.Verdurin, une riche bourgeoise. Cet homme mondain est ensuite tourmenté par la jalousie, par la peur de perdre la femme aimée, et par le chagrin d'amour. Enfin il se rend bien compte que cet amour est mort pour lui et que cette "pure création de l'esprit" n'est qu’un mirage. Pendant la souffrance causée par 1 'amour et par la réalité sordide, Swann cherche un moyen de salut : il essaie de retrouver le Temps perdu, d'évoquer le souvenir du bonheur qu'il a eu dans le passé. Ainsi; à la résurrection de la ‘'mémoire involontaire", déclenchée par la musique, Swann éprouve une sorte de joie, de bonheur supra - terrestre. Par là, pendant un moment, il peut échapper aux servitudes de la durée du Temps. D'autre part, en décrivant le cadre ou le décor du récit, Proust peint et critique implicitement la société française avant la Guerre de 1914. Ce monde des salons, si longtemps cherché par l'écrivain, est jugé avec une sévérité qui, du reste, n'exclut pas l'humour. L'écrivain dépeint une galerie de types sociaux, nobles et bourgeois, en suggérant leur orgueil, leur snobisme, leur hypocrisie et même leur méchanceté. En somme, ce qui compte dans Un amour de Swann qui est "le roman dans le roman" est la présentation de l'émotion du romancier à travers le personnage principal. La phrase de Proust, "tantôt longue et sinueuse, tantôt fleurissant en rosace" crée des correspondances et parfois une sorte de pénétration en différent domaines. Les pages de Proust, marquées par le style prismatique, par la profusion des images, éclairent simultanément les aspects du monde et les profondeurs de l’âme. Chez Proust, la forme et le fond sont une unité inséparable.
