Picture is by itself universal in that it is understandable and communicable. This article attempts to point out that apart from being the media in itself, picture sometimes explicated better than alphabets. The nature of good pictures is classified into good composition, clear communication, good contrast and sharpness, and effective color. Various types of pictures are considered, noting photographs, paintings, and news photographs. Process of how to produce news photographs along with the standard for enlarging and reducing pictures are also presented. Finally, this article also looks at the cutline or caption of the pictures with special emphasis given to the significance of, and considerations for producing the cutline. |
