| Abstract: | ระบบวรรณะเป็นการแบ่งชนชั้นทางสังคมอินเดียตั้งแต่ครั้งที่ชนเผ่าอารยันเดินทางเข้ามาในอินเดีย เมื่อราว 3,500 ปีผ่านมาแล้ว ระบบวรรณะเป็นระบบที่มีขึ้นเพื่อแบ่งคนอารยันกับคนพื้นเมือง ต่อมาระบบวรรณะเข้มงวดมากขึ้นกลายเป็นระบบซึ่งกำจัดสิทธิมนุษยชน เมื่อถึงสมัยพุทธกาลพระพุทธเจ้าทรงพยายามเสนอทัศนะใหม่ ซึ่งตรงข้ามกับทัศนะเดิม ในปัจจุบันนี้ทัศนะของพระพุทธเจ้ายังใหม่อยู่เสมอ และยังคงอยู่ในกระแสวัฒนธรรมอินเดีย ถึงแม้พระพพุทธศาสนาจะเสื่อมสลายจากอินเดียแล้วก็ตาม |
| Other Abstract: | Varna or caste system is the social stratification of Indian society from the time the Aryans immigrated into India about 3,500 years ago. Caste system was systemized to distinguish the Aryans from the aborigines. Later, caste system had become more rigid and seemed to violate human rights. In the Buddha’s time, the Buddha tried to shoe the new attitude different from the accepted of varna. At present, the Buddha’s attitude is still new and can be seen in the Indian thought although Buddhism disappeared from India. |
