dc.description.abstract	วัตถุประสงค์ในการศึกษาวาทกรรมว่าด้วยกองทัพญี่ปุ่น สมัยสงครามมหาเอเชียบูรพา เน้นการศึกษาความทรงจำที่ถูกสร้างขึ้นเป็นตัวแทนทางประวัติศาสตร์ผ่านทางรถไฟสายมรณะ ซึ่งเป็นสัญลักษณ์แห่งอดีตที่ปรากฏขึ้นจริงในรูปของสุสานสงครามกาญจนบุรี สุสานสงครามช่องไก่ พิพิธภัณฑ์สถานแห่งความทรงจำช่องเขาขาด อันเป็นความทรงจำร่วมทางสังคมที่เกิดขึ้นเป็นวาทกรรมว่าด้วยกองทัพญี่ปุ่นสมัยสงครามมหาเอเชียบูรพาที่สำคัญ 2 ชุดคือ วาทกรรมจากมุมมองของฝ่ายสัมพันธมิตรในฐานะผู้ถูกกระทำ และวาทกรรมจากมุมมองของฝ่ายญี่ปุ่นในฐานะผู้กระทำ การศึกษาในประเด็นดังกล่าวจะช่วยขยายภาพเรื่องราวของกองทัพญี่ปุ่นในสมัยสงครามมหาเอเชียให้ชัดเจนมากยิ่งขึ้น อีกทั้งยังจะทำให้เข้าใจถึงเหตุผลว่าทำไมทางรถไฟสายมรณะ จึงได้รับความสนใจในการนำเสนอเป็นงานเขียนทั้งในรูปของบันทึกความทรงจำ และงานเขียนทางวิชาการอย่างแพร่หลาย	en
dc.description.abstractalternative	This research analyses the discourses and memorials of the Great East-Asian War which represent the Japanese view of their role and deeds during and after the war, and the allied view as victims of the Japanese Army. This analysis clarifies the view of both sides during the war and in retrospect. The interest of war veterans and victims and of people from later generations in war memorials in Thailand which is expressed in many forms as collective memory are thoroughly studied and included in this research.	en
