dc.description.abstract	การวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาปริมาณความซ้ำซ้อนของหนังสือภาษาต่างประเทศในห้องสมุดสาขาการแพทย์และวิทยาศาสตร์สุขภาพ มหาวิทยาลัยมหิดล รวมทั้งศึกษาว่าปัจจัยต่าง ๆ คือ ปริมาณทรัพยากรห้องสมุด วิธีการจัดหาหนังสือ ปีพิมพ์ สำนักพิมพ์ และสาขาวิชาของหนังสือ จะมีอิทธิพลต่อปริมาณความซ้ำซ้อนของหนังสือภาษาต่างประเทศในระหว่างห้องสมุดเหล่านี้อย่างไร ผลการวิจัยสรุปได้ดังนี้คือ ปริมาณความซ้ำซ้อนในกลุ่มห้องสมุดอยู่ในระหว่างร้อยละ 0.0 – 34.7 และในการศึกษาปัจจัยต่าง ๆ ได้แก่ ปริมาณทรัพยากรของห้องสมุดเจ้าของกลุ่มตัวอย่าง วิธีการจัดหาหนังสือ ปีพิมพ์ และสำนักพิมพ์พบว่าปัจจัยเหล่านี้ไม่มีความสัมพันธ์กับปริมาณความซ้ำซ้อนของหนังสือที่พบในห้องสมุด (P > .05) อย่างไรก็ตาม โดยส่วนใหญ่หนังสือของห้องสมุดที่มีปริมาณทรัพยากรไม่เกิน 10,000 เล่ม หนังสือที่จัดหาโดยการได้รับบริจาค หนังสือที่มีปีพิมพ์ระหว่างปี ค.ศ. 1980 – 1984 หนังสือที่จัดพิมพ์โดยสถาบันวิชาการและหน่วยราชการ และหนังสือในสาขาวิชามนุษยศาสตร์และทั่วไปจะมีซ้ำซ้อนกันค่อนข้างกว้างขวางในระหว่างกลุ่มห้องสมุด ส่วนในเรื่องปริมาณทรัพยากรของห้องสมุดที่นำกลุ่มตัวอย่างไปตรวจสอบ พบว่าโดยทั่วไปปริมาณความซ้ำซ้อนของหนังสือจะเพิ่มสูงขึ้นเมื่อนำไปตรวจสอบในห้องสมุดที่มีปริมาณทรัพยากรมากขึ้น	-
dc.description.abstractalternative	The purposes of this research are to study the overlap of foreign language books in the medical and health science libraries of Mahidol University and to investigate how the extent of overlap is influenced by various factors: collection size of library, acquisition method, publication date. type of publishers, and subject of materials. The summarized findings are as follows: The total overlap among libraries is between 0.0 – 34.7 percent. Various factors such as collection size of source library, acquisition method, publication date, and type of publishers were found not related to the extent of overlap (P > .05). However, books in small collections (not more than 10,000 volumes). Donated books, books published between 1980 – 1984, books published by academic and government publishers and books in humanities and general fields are more widely held among the libraries. In general, in the case of target library’s collection size, the percentage of overlap will increase when the books are searched for the libraries having larger collections.	-
