| Abstract: | การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์ที่จะศึกษาเปรียบเทียบสถิติทดสอบที่ใช้ทดสอบความเท่ากันของความแปรปรวนระหว่างประชากรสองชุดของการทดสอบ 7 วิธีคือ การทดสอบเอฟ การทดสอบแจคไนฟ์ การทดสอบไคสแควร์ที่เสนอโดยเลยาร์ด การทดสอบเลเวนเน (WO) การทดสอบที่ปรับปรุงจากการทอสอบเลเวนเน 3 วิธี คือ W50 , W10, และ W20 โดยจะศึกษาถึงความน่าจะเป็นของความคลาดเคลื่อนประเภทที่ 1 และอำนาจของการทดสอบทั้ง 7 วิธี เมื่อประชากรทั้ง 2 ชุดมีการแจกแจงเหมือนกัน และเมื่อประชากรทั้ง 2 ชุด มีการแจกแจงที่ต่างกัน แต่มีลักษณะคล้ายกัน ขนาดของตัวอย่างที่ใช้ในการศึกษาแบ่งเป็น 2 กรณีคือ ขนาดตัวอย่างเท่ากันและไม่เท่ากัน สำหรับข้อมูลที่ใช้ในการทดลองครั้งนี้จำลองด้วยโปรแกรมคอมพิวเตอร์ โดยใช้เทคนิคมอนติคาร์โล ซึ่งกระทำซ้ำกัน 1,000 ครั้งในแต่ละกรณี ผลการศึกษาสรุปได้ดังนี้ 1. ความแกร่งของการทดสอบ พิจารณาความน่าจะเป็นของความคลาดเคลื่อนประเภทที่ 1 เมื่อประชากรมีการแจกแจงแบบต่าง ๆ ขนาดตัวอย่าง สัดส่วนของความแปรปรวน และระดับนัยสำคัญในระดับต่าง ๆ ปรากฏว่า การแจกแจงของประชากรและขนาดของตัวอย่างมีผลต่อความแกร่งของการทดสอบ 2. อำนาจของการทดสอบ เมื่อประชากรมีการแจกแจงเป็นแบบปกติ การทดสอบเอฟเป็นการทดสอบที่มีอำนาจของการทดสอบสูงที่สุด เมื่อเทียบกับการทดสอบอื่น ๆ เมื่อประชากรมีการแจกแจงแบบที (สมมาตรหางยาว) การทดสอบเลเวนเนมีอำนาจของการทดสอบสูงที่สุด เมื่อตัวอย่างมีขนาดเท่ากัน แต่เมื่อตัวอย่างมีขนาดใหญ่ขึ้น ไม่ว่าขนาดของตัวอย่างจะเท่ากันหรือไม่เท่ากัน การทดสอบที่ปรับปรุงจากการทดสอบเลเวนเนโดยใช้ค่าเฉลี่ยที่เกิดจากการตัดค่าสังเกตที่ปลายทั้งสองข้างของชุดตัวอย่างออกเป็นขนาด 10% และ 20% มีอำนาจของการทดสอบสูงที่สุด และเมื่อประชากรมีการแจกแจงแบบไคสแควร์และแบบไวบูลล์ (เบ้ขวา) การทดสอบ W50 มีอำนาจของการทดสอบสูงที่สุดเมื่อตัวอย่างมีขนาดเล็ก แต่เมื่อขนาดตัวอย่างใหญ่ขึ้น การทดสอบในกลุ่มที่ปรับปรุงจากการทดสอบเลเวนเนทั้ง 3 วิธีคือ W50 , W10 และ W20 มีอำนาจสูงกว่าการทดสอบอื่นในระดับเท่า ๆ กัน |
| Other Abstract: | The purpose of this research is to investigate the probability of type I error and the power of tests for equality of variances between two populations by using F-test, Jackknife test, Layard X2test, Levene test and Modified Levene test : W50, W10, and W20, for the case of the same populations and the case of the different populations. Both equal and unequal sample sizes were used. The data of this experiment were generated through simulation, using the Monte Carlo technique. For each case of the experiment was repeated 1,000 times. Results of the study are as follows: 1. Robustness of the test: By considering the probability of type I error for each population, sample sizes, proportion of variances, and level of significance, it was found that the distribution and sample sizes affected the robustness of the test 2. The power of tests: The power of F-test was found to be generally high in comparison with other tests for the case of normal distribution. For t distribution (Symmetric long-tailed), Levene test was found to be the highest power for equal sample sizes but for the larger sample sizes (equal and unequal sample sizes), Modified Levene test : W10and W20were found to be the highest power. For the Chi – square distribution and the Weibull distribution (right Skew), Modified Levene test : W50 was found to be the hightest power for small sample sizes, but when the samples were large the test in group of Modified Levene test (W10, W20, W50) were found to be higher than other tests. |
