dc.description.abstract	วิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาความตรงร่วมสมัยของแบบทดสอบสมิทธิภาพทั่วไปทางภาษาอังกฤษของจุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย (CU-TEP) และแบบทดสอบ Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) โดยศึกษาความสัมพันธ์ของคะแนนที่ได้จากการสอบ CU-TEP กับคะแนนที่ได้จากการสอบ TOEFL และศึกษาความตรงเชิงทำนายของคะแนนจากแบบทดสอบ CU-TEP ในการทำนายผลการสอบ TOEFL พลวิจัยได้แก่ผู้สมัครสอบ CU-TEP ที่ได้รับการสุ่มอย่างเจาะจงให้ไปสอบ TOEFL จำนวน 155 คน เครื่องมือที่ใช้ได้แก่แบบทดสอบ CU-TEP 3 ฉบับ และแบบทดสอบ TOEFL ที่จัดสอบในวันที่ 18 ธันวาคม 2541 การวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลใช้โปรแกรมสำเร็จรูป SPSS/PC โปรแกรมCTIA/GRADING (Version 6.3) และโปรแกรม Excel ผลการศึกษาปรากฏว่าคะแนนผลการสอบ CU-TEP มีความสัมพันธ์กับคะแนนผลการสอบ TOEFL ในระดับสูงมากทุกฉบับ (r[subscript xy] = 0.94, 0.91 และ 0.91) แต่เมื่อพิจารณาแยกทักษะพบว่าความสัมพันธ์ของคะแนนการอ่าน และการเขียนแบบปรนัยของแบบทดสอบทั้งสองอยู่ในระดับสูง การฟังอยู่ในระดับปานกลาง-สูง และคะแนนการเขียนแบบอัตนัยอยู่ในระดับปานกลาง ยกเว้นฉบับที่ 3 ที่มีความสัมพันธ์ในระดับต่ำ สำหรับประสิทธิภาพในการทำนายนั้นแบบทดสอบ CU-TEP ฉบับที่ 2 มีความคลาดเคลื่อนในการทำนายน้อยที่สุดในจำนวน 3 ฉบับ	en
dc.description.abstractalternative	The aim of this research was to study the concurrent validity of the Chulalongkorn University Test of English Proficiency (CU-TEP) and the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). The study was conducted by examining the correlation coefficients of CU-TEP scores and TOEFL scores and studying the predictive validity of CU-TEP scores to estimate the TOEFL scores. Subjects were 155 CU-TEP test takers selected to take the TOEFL test using the sampling technique. The instruments used were the 3 forms of CU-TEP and the TOEFL test administered on December 18th, 1998. The data was analyzed with the SPSS/PC, CTIA/GRADING (Version 6.3), and Excel programs. The study showed that the CU-TEP scores on all 3 forms highly correlated with the TOEFL scores, statistically significant at the level of 0.01 (r[subscript xy = 0.94, and 0.91). When considering each skill separately, the correlation coefficients of the listening components were moderate to high, and those of the reading and (objective) writing components were very high, while the correlation coefficients of the (essay) writing components were moderate except for those of CU-TEP FORM2, which were low. As for the predictive validity study, the CU-TEP scores obtained from FORM 2 had relatively the lowest error of estimation values.	en
