| Abstract: | การวิจัยครั้งนี้ มีจุดมุ่งหมายเพื่อศึกษาการใช้หอสมุดกลางของคณาจารย์มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น และศึกษางานบริการของหอสมุดกลางที่ให้แก่อาจารย์ ตลอดจนศึกษาปัญหาและความต้องการใช้วัสดุการสอนในหอสมุดกลางของอาจารย์มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่นโดยคาดว่าผลจากการวิจัยนี้ จะเป็นแนวทางให้ผู้บริหารและบรรณารักษ์ นำไปแก้ไขปรับปรุงหอสมุดกลางและจัดหาวัสดุการสอน ตลอดจนปรับปรุงงานบริการเพื่อสนองความต้องการของคณาจารย์ ตัวอย่างประชากรที่ใช้ในการวิจัย ได้แก่ คณาจารย์ซึ่งได้รับเลือกให้เป็นกลุ่มตัวอย่าง จากคณาจารย์ประจำ 7 คณะ จำนวน 236 คน โดยจำแนกเป็นคณาจารย์ที่เป็นสมาชิกหอสมุดกลาง จำนวน 130 คน และคณาจารย์ที่ไม่เป็นสมาชิกหอสมุดกลาง จำนวน 106 คน ให้เป็นผู้ตอบแบบสอบถาม โดยได้รับแบบสอบถามคืนจำนวนทั้งสิ้น 209 ชุด หรือร้อยละ 88.55 ของจำนวนที่แจกแบบสอบถาม ผลของการวิจัยสรุปได้ว่า คณาจารย์ส่วนใหญ่นิยมใช้ตำราภาษาต่างประเทศเพื่อการค้นคว้าประกอบการสอน รองลงมาใช้ตำราภาษาไทย ในด้านการเข้าใช้หอสมุดกลาง คณาจารย์ใช้หอสมุดกลางน้อยมาก คือหลายเดือนครั้ง จุดมุ่งหมายสำคัญที่ไปใช้คือ เพื่อการค้นคว้าประกอบการสอน ส่วนจำนวนวัสดุการสอนในหอสมุดกลาง คณาจารย์เห็นว่า วัสดุการสอนเกือบทุกหมวดมีจำนวนน้อย สาเหตุที่คณาจารย์ไม่อยากไปใช้หอสมุดกลาง เพราะหอสมุดกลางอยู่ไกล คณาจารย์ไปใช้ไม่สะดวก และวัสดุการสอนมีไม่ตรงกับความต้องการ ทั้งยังเก่าล้าสมัย ส่วนในด้านบริการนั้น คณาจารย์นิยมใช้บริการยืมหนังสือและวัสดุการสอนอื่น ๆ มากที่สุด สำหรับบริการที่คณาจารย์ต้องการให้หอสมุดกลางจัดมากที่สุดคือ จัดทำคู่มือช่วยค้นคว้าหนังสือที่มีวิธีใช้ยุ่งยาก จัดทำรายชื่อหนังสือใหม่แจกตามสาขาวิชาที่อาจารย์สนใจ หมุนเวียนวารสารทางวิชาการฉบับใหม่สุดแก่อาจารย์ และบริการถ่ายเอกสารจากต่างประเทศ ส่วนข้อคิดเห็นและข้อเสนอแนะอื่นๆนั้น คณาจารย์ต้องการให้หอสมุดกลางปรับปรุงกฎเกณฑ์ระเบียบการเข้าใช้ห้องสมุดให้เหมาะสมยิ่งขึ้น ตลอดจนต้องการให้ปรับปรุงวัสดุการสอนทุกหมวดให้ทันสมัย และมีจำนวนเพียงพอกับความต้องการของคณาจารย์ รวมทั้งปรับปรุงกริยามารยาทของบรรณารักษ์และเจ้าหน้าที่ฝ่ายบริการให้ดียิ่งขึ้น นอกจากนี้ควรมีการประชาสัมพันธ์ห้องสมุดในด้านต่าง ๆ ด้วย ข้อเสนอแนะของผู้วิจัยต่อผู้บริหารมหาวิทยาลัยคือ ควรพิจารณาจัดสรรงบประมาณให้แก่หอสมุดกลางอย่างเพียงพอ เพื่อการดำเนินงานและจัดซื้อวัสดุการสอนที่จำเป็นต่อการสอน และความต้องการของคณาจารย์ในแต่ละสาขาวิชา ส่วนข้อเสนอแนะสำหรับห้องสมุดคือ ควรจัดหาบุคลากรที่มีคุณวุฒิและคุณสมบัติให้เพียงพอกับการดำเนินงานอันมีประสิทธิภาพ และควรมีการประชาสัมพันธ์ของห้องสมุดให้ดีขึ้นกว่าปัจจุบันด้วย |
| Other Abstract: | This research aimed to study the faculty use of Khon Kaen University Central Library, the services that rendered to them and also to study the problems and needs to use the instructional materials in the Library. It was expected that the result would be used as guidelines for future improvement of the library, the acquisition and service promotion. 236 full-time instructors of 7 faculties –130 library members and 106 non-members were sampled to answer the questionnaire of which 209 or 88.55% were returned. The research can be concluded that for teaching preparation the majority of the respondents selected foreign language textbooks in preference to others. The next higher number used Thai language textbooks. The frequency of using Central Library was very low – once in several months. Their main purpose of using the library was for teaching. The faculty pointed out that the inadequacy and irrelevance of the instructional materials to the curriculum and also the location of the library discourage them to go. Of all library services, lending service was used more than any others. The suggested services were producing the handbook for using difficult references, selected dissemination of information (SDI), circulation of current periodicals and photo-duplication of publication from abroad. The faculty recommended that the library regulations should be developed, the library collection should be increased both quantitatively and qualitatively. Library staff who rendered services should have better human relationship. Furthermore library publicity should be emphasized. The researcher’s recommendation to the university administrators is that budget should be provided adequately for the library management and acquisition. Recommendations to the library are to employ enough qualified librarians to manage efficiently and also the public relation of the library should be improved. |
