dc.description.abstract	การวิจัยในครั้งนี้มีจุดมุ่งหมายเพื่อศึกษาถึงสถานภาพของอุตสาหกรรมอุปกรณ์รับสัญญาณดาวเทียม โดยเน้นทางการวิจัยและพัฒนาพร้อมทั้งศึกษาถึงศักยภาพและแนวโน้มของการทำวิจัยและพัฒนารวมถึงเสนอแนะแนวทางการส่งเสริมการวิจัยและพัฒนาในอุตสาหกรรมด้วย ผลการวิจัยพบว่า ในอุตสาหกรรมการผลิตอุปกรณ์รับสัญญาณดาวเทียมมีการวิจัยและพัฒนาในอัตราที่ต่ำคือมีบริษัทที่มีการวิจัยและพัฒนาเพียงร้อยละ 25 โดยมีปัจจัยที่มีผลการวิจัยและพัฒนาคือยอดขายสินค้า และส่วนแบ่งทางการตลาด นั่นคือ บริษัทที่มียอดขายสูง และมีส่วนแบ่งทางการตลาดมากมีแนวโน้มที่จะมีการวิจัยและพัฒนาในหน่วยงาน การวิจัยและพัฒนาที่พบนั้น จะเป็นการวิจัยและพัฒนาในระดับของการวิจัยประยุกต์ และพบว่า ไม่ได้ทำการวิจัยและพัฒนาในอุปกรณ์รับสัญญาณทุกประเภท การวิจัยและพัฒนาทั้งหมดจะเน้นไปที่จานรับสัญญาณเพียงอย่างเดียว เนื่องจากมีเทคโนโลยีและขั้นตอนในการผลิตไม่ซับซ้อน ในขณะที่อุปกรณ์รับสัญญาณชนิดอื่น จำเป็นต้องอาศัยเทคโนโลยีทางการผลิตในระดับสูง นอกจากนี้ ผู้ประกอบการส่วนใหญ่จะพบปัญหาและอุปสรรคของการทำวิจัยและพัฒนา คือ ในองค์กรขนาดใหญ่ ปัญหาการขาดแคลนบุคลากรทางด้านการวิจัยและพัฒนา ถือเป็นปัญหาที่สำคัญในอันดับต้นๆ ในขณะที่ผู้ประกอบการขนาดกลางและขนาดเล็ก ประสบกับปัญหาการขาดแคลนเงินทุนในการทำวิจัยและพัฒนา ผู้ประกอบการทั้งรายเล็กและรายใหญ่ยังคงต้องการการสนับสนุนจากภาครัฐบาล เช่น การพัฒนาบุคลากรทางด้านการวิจัย การให้ความช่วยเหลือทางด้านวิชาการ และด้านอื่นๆ เพื่อเป็นการส่งเสริมให้เกิดการวิจัยและพัฒนาในอุตสาหกรรมการผลิตอุปกรณ์รับสัญญาณดาวเทียมในอนาคต
dc.description.abstractalternative	The main objective of the study is to investigate the research and development activities in the satellite receiver equipment industry. Areas of interest include current situation, factors determining R&D activities, potential and trend as well as recommendations for improving R&D activities in the industry. It has been found that 25 percent of the firms in the industry has done R&D. Major factors affecting R&D activities are sales, market share and export. It has been found the level of R&D most firms engage in is applied research with special emphasis on satellite dish due to less sophisticated technology involved. In terms of current obstacles in R&D activities, manpower is the biggest concern for large firms while those smaller firms indicate the lack of adequate funding. Major government asistances to improve R&D activities and comparative advantage of these firms in the near future are technical human resource development and technical support.
