dc.description.abstract	วัดพระเชตุพนฯ เป็นวัดที่มีความสำคัญต่อประวัติการศึกษาไทย โดยเฉพาะในสมัยรัชกาลที่ 3 ซึ่งพระองค์ได้ทรงสถาปนาให้วัดพระเชตุพนฯ เป็นแหล่งความรู้ที่ประชาชนทั่วไป สามารถเข้าไปศึกษาหาความรู้ได้ โดยอาศัยสื่อการสอนประเภทต่างๆ ซึ่งสามารถช่วยในการเรียนรู้ให้มีประสิทธิภาพมากขึ้น จากการค้นคว้าครั้งนี้พบว่า จุดมุ่งหมายทางการศึกษาของวัดพระเชตุพนฯในสมัยกรุงรัตนโกสินทร์ตอนต้น มี 4 ประการ คือ 1. ต้องการให้เป็นแหล่งอนุรักษ์ความรู้ 2. เพื่อให้ความรู้และปลูกฝังจริยธรรมตามแนวพุทธศาสนา 3. เพื่อให้ความรู้ด้านการงานและอาชีพ 4. เพื่อให้ความรู้ด้านอักษรศาสตร์ชั้นสูง ในส่วนบทบาททางการศึกษา ความรู้ที่มีอยู่นั้นสามารถจะช่วยพัฒนาคุณภาพชีวิตในด้านความรู้ความสามารถ และคุณลักษณะที่ดีในการดำรงตนอยู่ในสังคมได้เป็นอย่างดี อีกทั้งรูปแบบของการศึกษา ความรู้การเรียนการสอน นั้น มีลักษณะที่แตกต่างไปบ้าง จากการศึกษาที่จัดอยู่เดิม ถ้านำมาเปรียบเทียบกับการศึกษาภาษาไทยในปัจจุบัน สามารถกล่าวได้ว่าเป็นจุดเริ่มต้นของการศึกษาไทยในระดับอุดมศึกษาการศึกษานอกระบบและการศึกษาด้านอาชีพ ในปัจจุบันนี้ ความรู้เหล่านั้นก็ยังมีประโยชน์ต่อผู้สนใจที่จะศึกษาและนำไปใช้ให้เป็นประโยชน์ต่อชีวิตประจำวันได้
dc.description.abstractalternative	Wat Phra Chetuphon is regarded to be a temple of the Thai educational. In the reign of King Rama III, in particular, His Majesty the King inaugurated Wat Phra Chetuphon to be an institution whereby the general public could seek to gain their knowledge and education in diverse fields through various types of instructional media, varied from its contemporary education. This was derived with the promotion of more efficient education. This research found that the educational objectives of Wat Phra Chetuphon in the early Rattanakosin period could be distinguished into 4 major aspects: firstly, for being the place of knowledge preservation; secondly, for providing the knowledge and implanting the ethics; thirdly, for occupational and vocational purposes; and finally, for offering the advanced knowledge of arts. As regards the educational role of Wat, it could be seen that the knowledge offered could help develop quality of life in terms of knowledge, capability, and good quality for upholding oneself preferable in the society. The changing pattern of education knowledge and teaching-learning process differed from the traditional one. In comparison with the present Thai educational system it could be considered to be the starting point of the Thai higher education, non-formal education, and vocational education. The knowledge gained from the temple renders much benefit to those who are interested and use it in their daily life.
