dc.description.abstract	ความขัดแย้งระหว่างไทยกับฝรั่งเศสในรัชสมัยพระบาทสมเด็จพระจุลจอมเกล้าเจ้าอยู่หัว เป็นเรื่องที่มีความสำคัญควรค่าแก่การศึกษาค้นคว้าเป็นอย่างยิ่ง เพราะสะท้อนให้เราเห็นถึงนโยบายการแผ่ขยายลัทธิอาณานิคมของฝรั่งเศสในสมัยนั้นได้อย่างดี โดยเฉพาะคดีพระยอดเมืองขวาง เจ้าเมืองคำมวนนี้เป็นเรื่องที่ฝรั่งเศสใช้เป็นข้ออ้างในการแผ่ขยายลัทธิอาณานิคมเข้ามาสู่ประเทศไทย จากการวิเคราะห์เรื่องคดีพระยอดเมืองขวางนี้ วิทยานิพนธ์ฉบับนี้มุ่งศึกษาถึงสาเหตุความขัดแย้งที่เป็นชนวนทำให้เกิดคดี รวมทั้งผลกระทบที่จะเกิดขึ้นในภายหลัง ผลของการศึกษาพบว่าคดีพระยอดเมืองขวางนี้เป็นคดีพิพาทการเมืองระหว่างประเทศที่มีความสำคัญอย่างยิ่งต่อประวัติศาสตร์ของไทย เพราะมีผลกระทบต่อการเมืองระหว่างประเทศ ระหว่างไทยกับฝรั่งเศสอย่างมากทีเดียว คือ สำหรับไทยแล้วคือการสูญเสียดินแดนให้กับฝรั่งเศส แต่สำหรับฝรั่งเศสแล้วคือการได้ดินแดนเพิ่มเติม นอกจากนี้ยังมีผลกระทบทางด้านอื่น ๆ อีก เช่น ผลกระทบทางด้านอื่น ๆ อีก เช่น ผลกระทบทางด้านขบวนการยุติธรรมของไทยอีกด้วย ด้วยเหตุนี้คดีพระยอดเมืองขวางจึงเป็นเรื่องหนึ่งในนโยบายการขยายลัทธิอาณานิคมของฝรั่งเศส เช่นที่ฝรั่งเศสเคยใช้ทำมาในหลาย ๆ ประเทศ	en
dc.description.abstractalternative	The conflict between Thailand and France in the reign of King Rama V is worth studying because it has reflected the French policy of colonial expansion in that period of time, especially the case of Phra Yod Muang Kwang, known as Chao Muang Kum Muan, which happened to be the excuse used by France in expansion of her colonialism in Thailand. This thesis analyses the causes of conflict that led to the case and the results following later. According to the analyses, the case of Phra Yod Muang Kwang was in fact the political dispute which became very significant to history of Thailand. For this country, it meant the loss of some territory while, on the cantrary, France succeeded in extending her imperialism. A part from this, the case also affected the justice movement of Thailand because France demanded exterritorial provileges and rights. The case of Phra Yod Muang Kwang, consequentily, because are part of the French policy-the same policy France used in extending her imprerialism in many countries.	en
