dc.description.abstract	ในผลงานประพันธ์ประเภทนวนิยายของมาร์เกอริต ยูร์เซอนาร์ แก่นเรื่อง “กาย” เป็นแนวทางสำคัญในการถ่ายทอดแนวคิดเรื่องสกลภาะว (I’universalite) ตัวละครมีลักษณะเป็นปัจเจกบุคคล แต่มีขั้นตอนและประสบการณ์ชีวิตร่วมกัน ต่างมุ่งมั่นที่จะแสวงหาแก่นแท้ของตนในตอนต้นโดยอาศัยการเดินทางท่องไปในโลกกว้าง พร้อมกับสร้างสัมพันธภาพกับผู้อื่นผ่านอินทรียสัมผัส ได้ เรียนรู้ประสบการณ์ชีวิตอันหลากหลายก่อนที่จะยุติการแสวงหาจากภายนอก แล้วหันมาแสวงหาลึกลงไปภายในตนเองด้วยการพิจารณาอินทรียสังขาร ทำให้เกิดความเข้าใจในสัมพันธภาพระหว่างมนุษย์กับจักรวาลซึ่งกลมเกลียวเป็นหนึ่งเดียว ปราศจากการแบ่งแยกระหว่างคน สัตว์ พืช ตลอดจนสรรพสิ่งทั้งมวลในธรรมชาติ ตัวละครประจักษ์ชัดว่าเรือนกายของตนประกอบด้วย ดิน น้ำ ลม ไฟ ซึ่งเป็นธาตุของจักรวาล มีการสูญสลายแล้วเกิดขึ้นใหม่ หมุนเวียนเป็นวัฏจักรอย่างไม่มีที่สิ้นสุด และมีความตายเป็นตัวกำหนดขีดจำกัดของสภาวะมนุษย์ ตัวละครตระหนักได้ว่าความแปลกแยกของบุคคล ความขัดแย้งระหว่างมนุษย์ด้วยกันเป็นเพียงสภาวะผิวเผิน เมื่อพิจารณาอย่างถ่องแท้แล้วก็จะพบเอกภาวะที่โยงใยสรรพสิ่งทั้งปวงของจักรวาลไว้ด้วยกัน ด้วยเหตุนี้ตัวละครจึงสามารถละทิ้งวิถีชีวิตที่เคยมี เคยเป็น แล้วยอมรับครรลองชีวิตและความตายตามกฎแห่งธรรมชาติได้ในที่สุด จึงอาจกล่าวได้ว่ามาร์เกอริต ยูร์เซอนาร์ อาศัยแก่นเรื่อง “กาย” เป็นแนวทางในการสร้างตัวละครที่แสดงพัฒนาการของมนุษย์ด้วยการเริ่มต้นจากภาวะปัจเจกบุคคล (I’individuel) แล้วผ่านขั้นตอนการเรียนรู้โลกและชิวิต จนบรรลุถึงสภาวะสากล (I’universel)	en
dc.description.abstractalternative	In Marguerite Yourcenar’s novels, the theme of the body is an important medium for conveying the concept of universality (l’univerrsalite). Distinctly individualized, her characters are; nevertheless, subject to a common pattern of human experiences and ordeals. Determined to discover their true selves, they often begin by travelling the world at the beginning of the story gaining various kinds of experience through physical contacts with other characters along the way. After that, they abandon their quests in the outside world and turn instead to inward searches, deep inside their bodies. In contemplating their inner selves, Yourcenarian characters come to understand the relationship between Man and the Universe in which human beings, animals, plants and other kinds of beings exist in harmony as components of a unified whole. They realize that the elementary constituents of their bodies are identical with the four elements of the cosmos, namely earth, air, fire, and water, all of which are subject to the cycle of life, death and rebirth. Thus, death, normally perceivied as the terminating point of human existence, is rather a transitional phase according to the laws of nature. In this light, the sense of alienation or conflicts among individuals become simply illusory conditions. This universal truth, discovered by the characters, allows them to consider their own selves without any illusion and, finally, to live as their lives as they are, according to the nature of things. It can be concluded, then, that the theme of the body is employed in Marguerite Yourcenar’s novels to convey the concept of universality, as seen in her characters evolution from initial individualization to final universalization.	en
