The purposes of this research are to propose dancing project and to explore the concepts of dancing creativity. Interdisciplinary fields of studies: literature creation, human behavior, semiology, and fine arts, have been applied through various sources of information – literature reviews, information technology context, interview with the experts and specialists, observation of the performances, seminar attendances, and standard criteria of artists. Those assorted kinds of content have been analyzed in order to find out the patterns and to conduct series of creative experiments. After several experiments had been tried out and developed, this dancing project has been publicly presented and has been concluded as a research study. According to performance creativity, this can be generated into 8 elements: 1) Script writing which has been adapted from original literatures. 2) Skillful performers who were able to deliver the intended content. 3) Choreograph which has been exhibited in the form of post-modern dance. 4) Sound which was played by live musical band. 5) Stage prop which has been created upon the realism and symbolism concepts. 6) Stage area which has been altered from the actual space consisting of leveled steps of stairs and poles of the buildings. 7) Light design which has been arranged underlying with the theories of colors and light direction. 8) Costume design which has been integrated with the concepts of symbolism and surrealism. After carrying out this performance, there have been seven profitable points which are worthwhile to be learned. 1) Firstly, the structure of the plots has been creatively generated from the traditional literatures without distortion. 2) Next, this dance has illustrated the current social situation. 3) As well as this, the symbolism concepts portrayed in the dance have encouraged the audiences to imply the hidden message through the performers’ movement. 4) Additionally, simplicity in dance has been explored. 5) Notably, this project has aroused the interests in traditional literatures among the young adult audiences. 6) In terms of creativity, this dancing project has exposed the characters in the traditional tales in comparable to the daily lives in the society. 7) Last but not least, three areas of study: visual arts, music and dance theories, have been utilized to perform the show deliberately. Moreover, the ideas of unity have been constructed upon different elements: stage-space application, costumes, music and four characters derived from traditional literatures: Kali (the Hindus Goddess from India), Venus (The Roman Goddess from Greece), Cinca Manavika (a young lady who plotted the sexual scandal towards the Lord of Buddha from Buddhist Jataka Tales) and Phra Phuean Phra Phang (the twin sisters from Lilit Phra Lor, Thailand). |
