dc.description.abstract	งานวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาเจตคติของชายไทยต่อการถือครองพรหมจรรย์ของเพศหญิง ผ่านทางปัจจัยต่างๆ ของเพศชาย อาทิ การเหยียดเพศแบบให้คุณ การเหยียดเพศแบบปฏิปักษ์ บุคลิกภาพแบบเปิดตัว บุคลิกภาพแบบเปิดรับประสบการณ์ และปัจจัยอื่นๆ ได้แก่ ความเคร่งศาสนา และการเปิดรับสื่อต่างประเทศ รวมถึงการศึกษาความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างเจตคติต่อการถือครองพรหมจรรย์กับพฤติกรรมการเลือกคู่ครอง เพื่อศึกษาว่าสามารถนำเจตคติต่อการถือครองพรหมจรรย์มาทำนายพฤติกรรมการเลือกคู่ครองได้หรือไม่ ในการศึกษาครั้งนี้ใช้กลุ่มตัวอย่างเป็นบุคคลเพศชายจำนวนทั้งสิน 243 คน โดยให้กลุ่มตัวอย่างตอบแบบสำรวจความคิดเห็นทัศนคติชายไทยต่อเพศหญิงในเรื่องเพศ และนำข้อมูลที่ได้จากแบบสอบถามมาทำการทดสอบสมมติฐานด้วยการทดสอบสถิติถดถอยแบบพหูคูณ (Multiple Regression) ผลการศึกษาพบว่าตัวแปรปัจจัยภายในที่สามารถทำนายเจตคติต่อการถือครองพรหมจรรย์ได้คือ การเหยียดเพศทั้งแบบให้คุณและแบบปฏิปักษ์ และบุคลิกภาพแบบเปิดรับประสบการณ์ ส่วนตัวแปรปัจจัยอื่นๆ ที่สามารถทำนายเจตคติต่อการถือครองพรหมจรรย์ได้ คือความเคร่งศาสนา และการเปิดรับสื่อต่างประเทศ	en_US
dc.description.abstractalternative	The purpose of this study is to examine factors related to attitude towards virginity of women among Thai males. These include internal (benevolent sexism, hostile sexism, openness to ex-perience, and extroversion) and external factors (exposure to international media and religion). In addition, the mediating effect of attitude towards virginity on mating preference was also tested. A sample of 243 males completed an online set of questionnaires. The obtained results showed that all hypothesised factors except extraversion predict-ed attitude towards virginity. Moreover, attitude towards virginity mediated relationship between hypothesised predictors and mating preference. Implications and future directions were dis-cussed.	en_US
