dc.description.abstract	การศึกษามูลเหตุแห่งความเสียเปรียบเชิงที่ตั้งของสุพรรณบุรีภายใต้สมมติฐานที่ว่า การเปลี่ยนแปลงที่ตั้งของเมืองหลวงและระบบการเชื่อมโยงด้านคมนาคมขนส่งในระดับต่าง ๆ ทำให้สุพรรณบุรีมีความเสียเปรียบเชิงที่ตั้งและลดบทบาทลงมาโดยลำดับ ทั้งที่เคยเป็นศูนย์กลางที่สำคัญในสมัยโบราณ โดยมีจุดมุ่งหมายที่จะศึกษาสืบค้นถึงความรุ่งเรืองของสุพรรณบุรี และความถดถอยความเจริญมาตลอด เนื่องมาจาก เหตุการณ์ทางประวัติศาสตร์เละการเปลี่ยนแปลงเชิงพื้นที่ ค้นหาสภาพและบทบาทของสุพรรณบุรีในปัจจุบันเปรียบเทียบกับพื้นที่อื่น ดำเนินการศึกษาโดยใช้ข้อมูลทางประวัติศาสตร์และโบราณคดี ทั้งจากแหล่งข้อมูลที่เป็นลายลักษณ์อักษร และไม่เป็นลายลักษณ์อักษร เป็นเครื่องมือในการยืนยันการเป็นแหล่งที่ตั้งถิ่นฐานสำคัญของสุพรรณบุรี การวิเคราะห์พื้นที่สุพรรณบุรี เปรียบเทียบกับพื้นที่อื่นที่มีลักษณะที่ตั้งสามารถเปรียบเทียบกันได้ ผลการศึกษา การเสียเปรียบเชิงที่ตั้งของสุพรรณบุรี เป็นผลมาจากการเปลี่ยนแปลง เมืองหลวงจากพระนครศรีอยุธยามาเป็นกรุงเทพฯ ทำให้ระบบของพื้นที่เปลี่ยนไป ภายหลังเมื่อมีการสร้างโครงข่ายการคมนาคมทางบกทั่วประเทศส่งผลต่อทำเลที่ตั้งของสุพรรณบุรีอย่างมาก เพราะการคมนาคมเปรียบเสมือนเส้นเลือดหล่อเลี้ยงชีวิตของเมือง สถานะการพัฒนาของสุพรรณบุรีอยู่ในระดับต่ำกว่าพื้นที่อื่นในภาคตะวันตก เมื่อนำไปเปรียบเทียบกับพื้นที่ที่มีลักษณะที่ตั้งคล้ายคลึงกัน คือ ราชบุรี อยุธยา สระบุรี นครนายก และ ปราจีนบุรี พบว่าสถานะการพัฒนาของพื้นที่ดังกล่าวเรียงตามลำดับจากมากไปน้อยเป็นดังนี้คือ สระบุรี ราชบุรี อยุธยา นครนายก สุพรรณบุรี และปราจีนบุรี จึงเสนอให้พัฒนาสุพรรณบุรีเป็นแหล่งผลิตและแปรรูปสินค้าการเกษตรจากความอุดมสมบูรณ์ของทรัพยากรและความได้เปรียบในระยะทางที่ตั้งอยู่ใกล้ตลาดกรุงเทพมหานคร ตลอดจนส่งเสริมบทบาทด้านการท่องเที่ยวในฐานะที่เคยเป็นศูนย์กลางสำคัญในอดีต
dc.description.abstractalternative	The study on the causes of disadvantageous location of Suphan Buri Province has on assumption that the transformation of the capital city and its transport networks make Suphan Buri Province lost its advantageous location and decrease its role. In the past, Suphan Buri Province was the old important control city. The purpose of the study : To investigate the growth and the decline of Suphan Buri Province. Because of the national historical events effect to all growth of cities. We can investigate the conditions and roles of Suphan-Buri Province by comparing its city conditions with other cities. The design of study : To analyze the historical and archeological records on unrecords for the significant of Suphan Buri Province settlenont. Analysis of Suphan Buri Province in physical, economic and social conditions by comparing them with other closed cities where they are located in its network, The result of the study is that the changeable of the capital city from Phra Nakhon Sri Ayuthaya to Bangkok causes the location disadvantage of Suphan Buri Provience, By this altwation, it effects to all other development networks of the Western Region. After the national highways are constructed, the signification of Suphan Buri Province is changed. Transportation is the anterial blood of urban life. The development of Suphan Buri Province is lower than other cities in the Western Region. When we compare the growth of Suphan Buri Province with other cities in its networks such as Ratchaburi, Phra Nakhon Sri Ayuthaya, Saraburi, Nakhon Nayoh and Prachin Buri, we found that the range of development of those cities are Saraburi Ratchaburi, Phra Nakhon Sri Ayuthaya, Suphan Buri and Prachin Buri respectively. In conclusion, proposition of development are : To develop it to be the center of productions and aggloindustry. By the wealthy of resources of Suphan Buri Province with the advantageous location of the closed market of Bangkok, and the promotion of its role in tourism will create Suphan Buri Province to be the center of the Western Region in the future.
