| Abstract: | องค์ความรู้พื้นฐานทางชีววิทยามีความสำคัญต่อการนำไปประยุกต์ใช้ในการฟื้นฟูและเพาะขยายพันธุ์กัลปังหาในประเทศ จึงทำการศึกษาชีววิทยาการสืบพันธุ์ การเติบโต ตลอดจน ปัจจัยด้านอาหารส่งผลต่อการเติบโตของกัลปังหา Menella sp. และ Dichotella gemmacea บริเวณอ่าวสัตหีบ จังหวัดชลบุรี เพื่อใช้เป็นข้อมูลเบื้องต้นประกอบการเพาะขยายพันธุ์กัลปังหาในประเทศ จากการศึกษาในพื้นที่พบว่า ชายฝั่งทะเลแหลมปู่เจ้ามีความหลากหลายของกัลปังหาทั้งสิ้น 9 สกุล โดยมี Dichotella gemmacea เป็นชนิดเด่น ที่ความหนาแน่นสูงสุด 0.33 โคโลนี/ตารางเมตร หรือ 59.1% ของกัลปังหาทั้งหมด กัลปังหา Menella sp. และ Dichotella gemmacea มีการสร้างเซลล์สืบพันธุ์ได้ทุกเดือน โดยมีขนาดเส้นผ่านศูนย์กลางโดยเฉลี่ยในแต่ละเดือนที่แตกต่างกันที่ 67.7-198.8+-15 และ 10.0-186.7 ไมโครเมตร ตามลำดับ การที่เซลล์สืบพันธุ์มีหลายขนาดในช่วงเวลาเดียวกัน การเติบโตของกัลป์ปังหา จากการเปลี่ยนแปลงความยาวของกิ่งโดยเฉลี่ยพบว่า กิ่งของโคโลนีปกติของกัลปังหาทั้งสองมีความยาวเพิ่มขึ้น 11.0+-0.9 เซนติเมตร (15 เดือน) และ 2.8+-0.4 เซนติเมตร (12 เดือน) หรือคิดเป็นความยาวเฉลี่ยเพิ่มขึ้นต่อเดือนที่ 0.7+-0.06 และ 0.5+-0.07 เซนติเมตร ตามลำดับ เมื่อเปรียบเทียบอัตราการเติบโตโดยเฉลี่ยต่อเดือนระหว่างกิ่งของโคโลนีปกติกับกิ่งปกติของโคโลนีที่มีการตัดกิ่งของกัลปังหาทั้งสอง มีค่าไม่แตกต่างกัน ขณะที่กิ่งที่มีการตัด (ของโคโลนีที่มีการตัด) มีค่าสูงกว่าและแตกต่างอย่างมีนัยสำคัญ (p<0.05) ทั้งนี้ ประเภทของอาหารที่พบในกระเพาะอาหารของกัลปังหาทั้งสองมีหอยสองฝาเป็นองค์ประกอบหลัก คิดเป็น 58% และ 91% ตามลำดับ |
| Other Abstract: | Basic knowledge on biology plays important roles for applying the conservation and restoration of gorgonians in Thailand. In this study the reproductive biology, growth and food of 2 genera of gorgonians, Menella sp. and Dichotella gemmacea, at Ao Sattahip, Changwat Chonburi were investigated, for basic data of gorgonian cultivation. The results showed that 9 genera of gorgonians were found at Laem Pu Chao. The dominant group was Dichotella gemmacea with the density of 0.33 colony/m[superscript2] and covering 59.1% of the area, For the gonad study, the gonads of Menella and Dichotella gemmacea were found every month. The average diameter sizes of gonads of Menella sp. and Dichotella gemmacea were ranged between 67.7+-24 to 198.8+-15 mum and 10.0+-21 to 186.7+-47 mum respectively. Different gonad sizes were found in the same months. The largest size class of gonads (> 300 mum) was found year-round. For the growth study, the results showed that length gain of Menella sp. during 15-month period was 11.0+-0.9 cm (0.73+-0.06 cm/month) while the length gain of Dichotella gemmacea during 12-month period was 2.8+-0.4 cm (0.46 +- 0.07 cm/month). The results from the field experiments showed that there was no significant difference on average growth (percent length gain) of Menella between non-cut branches of normal (control) colony and non-cut branches of cut colonies However the average percent length gain of cut branches on cut colonies of Menella were significantly higher than ones of non-cut branches of non-cut and cut colonies (p<0.05) while cut branches of Dichotella gemmacea differed only from non-cut colonies. The highest growths of cut branches of Menella sp. and Dichotella gemmacea were 93+-1.9% and 3.0+-0.5% respectively. In addition from the stomach content analyses of Menella sp. and Dichotella gemmacea, bivalves were the main components (58% and 91%). |
