| Abstract: | วิทยานิพนธ์ ผู้เขียนมุ่งศึกษาเรื่องลักษณะคำและวิธีการถ่ายเสียงคำยืมภาษาอังกฤษในภาษาไทยสมัยปัจจุบันเฉพาะระดับผู้ใช้ภาษาที่มีความรู้ภาษาอังกฤษเพียงพอที่จะสามารถเปล่งเสียงภาษาอังกฤษได้ถูกต้อง ตลอดจนศึกษาวิวัฒนาการและอิทธิพลของคำยืมภาษาอังกฤษต่อระบบเสียงภาษาไทย โดยเสนอรายละเอียดเฉพาะวิธีการถ่ายเสียงพยัญชนะ สระ การกำหนดเสียงวรรณยุกต์ในคำยืมภาษาอังกฤษในภาษาไทยสมัยปัจจุบันเสนอวิวัฒนาการและอิทธิพลช่องคำยืมภาษาอังกฤษต่อระบบเสียงภาษาไทยเพียงเพื่อให้เห็นประวัติความเป็นมา วิวัฒนาการที่ต่อเนื่องและผลที่ได้รับจากคำภาษาอังกฤษในภาษาไทยเท่านั้น การค้นคว้ารวบรวมหลักฐานได้จากพจนานุกรม ศัพท์วิชาการสาขาวิชาเฉพาะ หนังสือวรรณคดี วรรณกรรมต่างๆ หลักภาษา และถ้อยคำที่ใช้ในชีวิตประจำวันตลอดจนสื่อสารมวลชน อันได้แก่ หนังสือพิมพ์ นิตยสาร วารสาร วิทยุ โทรทัศน์ เป็นต้น วิทยานิพนธ์เรื่องนี้แบ่งออกเป็น 8 บท บทแรกเป็นบทนำ กล่าวถึงหัวข้อวิทยานิพนธ์ จุดมุ่งหมาย ขอบเขตการวิจัย วิธีดำเนินการวิจัย และงานวิจัยอื่นที่เกี่ยวข้องบทที่ 2 เปรียบเทียบระบบเสียงภาษาอังกฤษกับภาษาไทย บทที่ 3 กล่าวถึงประวัติและวิวัฒนาการของคำยืมภาษาอังกฤษในภาษาไทยสมัยรัชกาลที่ 3 ถึงสมัยรัชกาลที่ 5 บทที่ 4 และบทที่ 5 วิเคราะห์การถ่ายเสียงคำยืมภาษาอังกฤษในภาษาไทยสมัยปัจจุบันด้านหน่วยเสียงพยัญชนะและสระ ตามลำดับ บทที่ 6 การกำหนดเสียงวรรณยุกต์ในคำยืมภาษาอังกฤษในภาษาไทย บทที่ 7 กล่าวถึงอิทธิพลของคำยืมภาษาอังกฤษในภาษาไทยต่อระบบเสียงภาษาไทย และบทสุดท้ายเป็นบทสรุปและข้อเสนอแนะ |
| Other Abstract: | The purposes of this thesis were 1) to study the aspect of transliteration of the English loanwords as used in the Thai language by educated people only 2) the influence of the English loanwords on Thai phonology and 3) the continual development as well as Its results. This was done only with consonants, vowels and tones of the contemporary loanwords. The words taken into this study were those from dictionary entries, technical terms, literature, grammar, everyday life words as well as words from various sorts of mass media, such as newspapers, magazines, radio and television programs. This thesis was divided into 8 chapters. Chapter one introduced the purposes, limitations, research methods and literature review of the thesis. Chapter two compared English with Thai phonology. Chapter three explained the history and development of English loanwords from King Rama III to King Rama V. Chapters four and five analysed the English loanwords1 transliteration of consonant and vowel phonemes. Chapter six examined the notability tone marks of the loanwords. Chapter seven accounted for the influence of English loanwords on Thai phonology. And chapter eight concluded the thesis with suggestion on how more work can be done in this subject. |
