| Abstract: | งานวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อสำรวจสภาพการใช้วารสารวิชาการภาษาต่างประเทศของห้องสมุดกลาง สำนักหอสมุด มหาวิทยาลัยธรรมศาสตร์ ซึ่งครอบคลุมถึงประเภทวิชา ปริมาณของการใช้และอายุของวารสารที่มีการใช้เพื่อใช้เป็นข้อมูลเบื้องต้นในการจัดหาและจัดบริการด้านวารสารภาษาต่างประเทศ ตลอดจนเป็นแนวทางพิจารณาการจัดเก็บวารสารภาษาต่างประเทศที่เหมาะสมต่อไป วิธีการดำเนินการวิจัย ผู้วิจัยได้รวบรวมข้อมูลการใช้วารสารภายในห้องสมุดทั้งที่จัดบริการในระบบชั้นเปิดและระบบชั้นปิด รวมทั้งการยืมออก และการยืมระหว่างห้องสมุด โดยแบ่งช่วงระยะการวิจัยออกเป็น 2 ช่วง ช่วงละ14 วัน กลุ่มตัวอย่างประชากรที่ใช้ในการวิจัยครั้งนี้ คือ วารสารวิชาการภาษาต่างประเทศจำนวน 474 ชื่อ ผลการวิจัยสรุปได้ดังนี้ ในระยะวิจัยครั้งที่ 1 มีวารสารที่มีการใช้จำนวน 152 ชื่อ ในระยะการวิจัยครั้งที่ 2 มีวารสารที่มีการใช้จำนวน 178 ชื่อในระยะการวิจัยครั้งที่ 1 และครั้งที่ 2 รวมกันมีวารสารที่มีการใช้จำนวน 206 ชื่อ มีวารสารเพียงร้อยละ 10.13 ของวารสารที่อยู่ในขอบเขตการวิจัยที่มีจำนวนความถี่ของการใช้ในระยะการวิจัยครั้งที่ 1 คิดเป็นร้อยละ 80.17 และมีวารสารเพียงร้อยละ 11.18 ของวารสารที่อยู่ในขอบเขตการวิจัยครั้งที่ 2 คิดเป็นร้อยละ 80.26 และวารสารที่มีจำนวนความถี่ของการใช้มากในระยะการวิจัยครั้งที่ 1 และครั้งที่ 2 รวมกันคิดเป็นร้อยละ 80.14 เป็นวารสารเพียงร้อยละ 11.60 ของวารสารที่อยู่ในขอบเขตการวิจัย สำหรับความสัมพันธ์ของวารสารที่มีการใช้มากในระยะการวิจัยทั้ง 2 ครั้งพบว่าวารสารที่มีการใช้มาก 30 ชื่อแรกในระยะการวิจัยทั้ง 2 ครั้ง มีความสัมพันธ์กัน คือ มีค่า สัมประสิทธิ์สหสัมพันธ์ 0.71 นอกจากนี้ยังพบว่าวารสารที่มีอายุระหว่าง 0-5 ปี (ปีพิมพ์ 1977-1982)เป็นวารสารที่มีการใช้มากที่สุดในด้านประเภทวิชาของวารสารที่มีการใช้พบว่าวารสารทีมีการใช้พบว่าวารสารที่มีการใช้มาก คือ วารสารประเภทวิชาเศรษฐศาสตร์และพาณิชยศาสตร์ รัฐศาสตร์ ปรัชญา-ศาสนา บรรณานุกรมและบรรณารักษศาสตร์ และสังคมวิทยา งานวารสาร ห้องสมุดกลาง สำนักหอสมุด มหาวิทยาลัยธรรมศาสตร์ควรนำผลการวิจัยครั้งนี้เป็นข้อมูลเบื้องต้นในการจัดหาและจัดบริการด้านวารสารภาษาต่างประเทศ และใช้เป็นแนวทางพิจารณาจัดเก็บวารสารภาษาต่างประเทศให้สอดคล้องกับสภาพห้องสมุดและความต้องการของผู้ใช้ได้อย่างมีประสิทธิภาพยิ่งขึ้น ข้อเสนอแนะในการวิจัยครั้งต่อไป ควรนำวิธีการเก็บข้อมูลอื่น ๆ มาใช้ประกอบเพิ่มเติม เช่น การใช้แบบสอบถาม หรือ การสัมภาษณ์ เป็นต้น นอกจากนี้ควรเก็บข้อมูลในภาคปลายของปีการศึกษาหรือทั้งสองภาคการศึกษา และควรสำรวจการใช้วารสารภาษาต่างประเทศของห้องสมุดเฉพาะด้านของสำนักหอสมุด มหาวิทยาลัยธรรมศาสตร์ |
| Other Abstract: | The purpose of this thesis was to survey the use of technical periodicals in foreign language in Thammasat University Central Library concerning the subject matter, the frequently used, and the publication date of the used periodicals. The research result can be used as the basis data in considering the policies, their services, and the appropriate storage of foreign language periodicals. Survey research method was used in this thesis. Data was collected through the in house use of foreign language periodicals, both open and closed shelves, through their circulation and inter-library loan. The data was gathered for two periods, each for 14 days, and 474 periodical titles were selected as the samples. It was found that 152 and 178 periodical titles were used during the first and the second research period respectively, and 206 titles were used in both periods. The most frequently periodicals which frequency 80.17% in the first period accounted for only 10.13% of the total titles used and the most frequently used periodicals which frequency 80.26% in the second period accounted for only 11.18% of the total titles used. For both periods the most frequently used periodicals which frequency 80.14% accounted for only 11.60% of the total titles used. The first 30 titles of the most frequently used periodicals from both periods were used for a Spearman Rank-Order Correlation Coefficient. The Coefficient abtained was 0.71 which means that there was a positive correlation between the most frequently used periodicals from the two periods. As to the publication data the most used periodicals were the ones published within the last five years (1977-1982) The subject matter of the used periodicals were economics and commerce, political science, philosophy-religion, bibliography and library science, and sociology. The Central Library of Thammasat University should take the findings of this thesis as the basis data in considering the acquisition policies, their services, and the appropriate storage of foreign language periodicals according to the library condition and in order to meet the needs of the users, For further studies, other methods of collecting data should be added such as the questionnairs or the interviews. And since this thesis studied the periodical use only in the first academic semester, it is recommended that further studies should be under taken in both semesters as well as survey the use of foreign language periodicals in the other special Libraries of Thammasat University. |
