| Abstract: | วัตถุประสงค์หลักของวิทยานิพนธ์ฉบับนี้คือ การค้นหาและประเมินขั้นตอนและรูปแบบที่เหมาะสมในการแสดงสารสนเทศภูมิศาสตร์ประเทศไทยในรูปของแผนที่เฉพาะเรื่องบนไมโครซอฟต์เอกเซล ซึ่งเป็นโปรแกรมแผ่นตารางทำการในชุดโปรแกรมไมโครซอฟต์ออฟฟิศที่มีความสามารถหลายด้านเช่น การคำนวณและการวิเคราะห์ทางสถิติ ในปัจจุบันสารสนเทศภูมิศาสตร์มักนำเสนอในรูปแบบตาราง หากจำเป็นต้องทำแผนที่เฉพาะเรื่องก็มักทำด้วยมือหรือทำโดยซอฟต์แวร์ระบบสารสนเทศภูมิศาสตร์ซึ่งมีราคาสูง และไม่แพร่หลายทั่วไป วิทยานิพนธ์นี้คาดหวังว่าจะสามารถนำเสนอทางเลือกที่มีค่าใช้จ่ายต่ำ อันจะเป็นการเปิดโอกาสให้องค์กรขนาดเล็กและขนาดกลางตลอดจนบุคคลที่สนใจได้เข้าถึงความรู้ทางภูมิศาสตร์ รวมทั้งวิธีการนำเสนอความรู้ดังกล่าวในรูปแผนที่ วิทยานิพนธ์นี้เริ่มต้นด้วยการรวบรวมประเด็นที่เกี่ยวกับภูมิศาสตร์ประเทศไทยอย่างมีระบบ จากตำราที่สามารถหาได้ รายงานสถิติ และระเบียนการใช้สารสนเทศภูมิศาสตร์ ผู้วิจัยได้นำประเด็นที่มีความถี่ในการกล่าวถึงที่สูงจำนวนหนึ่งมาใช้เป็นชุดข้อมูลในการออกแบบและสร้างระบบการนำเสนอสารสนเทศภูมิศาสตร์ประเทศไทย จากนั้นเป็นการค้นคว้าขั้นตอนที่ไมโครซอฟต์เอกเซลใช้ในการแสดงแผนที่เฉพาะเรื่อง รวมทั้งรูปแบบที่โปรแกรมนี้ยอมรับอย่างละเอียด ตามด้วยการคัดเลือกโปรแกรมที่สามารถแปลงสารสนเทศภูมิศาสตร์ที่อยู่ในรูปแบบอื่นๆ ให้เป็นรูปแบบที่ไมโครซอฟต์เอกเซลยอมรับ ทั้งนี้จำเป็นต้องเขียนโปรแกรมอรรถประโยชน์เพื่อเลือกเฉพาะข้อมูลที่จะผนวกเข้าไปในงานวิจัยนี้เท่านั้น เมื่อพัฒนาระบบสิ้นสุดลงแล้ว ผู้วิจัยได้ขอร้องให้องค์การและบุคคลที่สนใจเข้าร่วมในการประเมินระบบ และมีผลการตอบสนองเป็นไปในทางบวก ทำให้ผู้วิจัยสามารถผนวกข้อเสนอแนะจำนวนหนึ่งเข้าไปในวิทยานิพนธ์ นอกจากนี้ยังได้ดำเนินการตามที่มีการเสนอแนะในด้านการบรรจุข้อมูลลักษณะประจำเพิ่มเติมและการเพิ่มและปรับแผ่นข้อมูลแผนที่ตามมาตราส่วนของแผนที่ สรุปได้ว่าวิทยานิพนธ์นี้ได้พัฒนาระบบที่สามารถนำไปใช้ได้หลากหลายองค์กรและบุคคลที่มีความเกี่ยวข้องกับระบบสารสนเทศภูมิศาสตร์ประเทศไทยในระดับที่แตกต่างกัน |
| Other Abstract: | The main aim of this thesis is to discover and evaluate suitable procedures and formats in depicting Thailand's geographic information in form of thematic map under Microsoft Excel, a Microsoft Office suite's spreadsheet program specializing in, among other things, calculation and statistical analysis. At present, the presentation of these geographic information is restricted to tables. If thematic mapping is required, they are usually performed by hands or produced by geographic information software, which are expensive and not generally available. It is hoped that this thesis will put forward a suitable low-cost alternative that will enable many small to medium organizations as well as individuals to have greater access not only to geographic knowledge but also to the methods in cartographic depiction of such knowledge. The thesis began by systematic collection of geography of Thailand aspects from various textbooks, statistical reports as well as record of geographic information usage. A number of aspects frequently mentioned were then employed as a data set from which Thailand's geographic information system was designed and constructed. The thesis thoroughly investigated the procedures adopted by Microsoft Excel to portray thematic map, and the geographic information formats into a format recognized by Microsoft Excel. Utility application was written to identify and select only those data items that would be included in the present work. At the completion of system development, interested organizations and individuals were asked to participate in the evaluation. The feedback was positive, this researcher was able to incorporate a number of suggestions into the design. Additional attribute data and spatial scale adjustment suggested by the survey participants were subsequently included as well. It is concluded that the system developed by this thesis is capable of being employed by a wide variety of organization and individuals with different levels of engagement with Thailand's geographic information system. |
