| Abstract: | กลุ่มประเทศสแกนดิเนเวียอาจจะดูเป็นสังคมที่สงบและปราศจากความขัดแย้ง แต่อาชญนิยายที่สร้างสรรค์โดยชาวสแกนดิเนเวียกลับตีแผ่ปัญหาทางสังคมและความวิตกกังวลที่แฝงอยู่ในกลุ่มประเทศดังกล่าว ทั้งนี้อาชญนิยายตั้งแต่ยุคเริ่มแรกเรื่อยมาต่างก็นำเสนอแง่มุมของปัญหาและความกังวลต่าง ๆ ที่แตกต่างกันออกไปตามกาลเวลาและสภาพสังคมที่เปลี่ยนไป อาชญนิยายร่วมสมัยของสแกนดิเนเวียที่คัดสรรมาศึกษาก็ทำหน้าที่เปิดโปงปัญหาและสะท้อนความกังวลของผู้คนในสังคมด้วยเช่นกัน ปัญหาและความกังวลเหล่านี้ได้แก่ ปัญหาความรุนแรงต่อผู้หญิง ความวิตกกังวลเกี่ยวกับความบริสุทธิ์ทางชาติพันธุ์และการตีแผ่การทำงานของรัฐบาลที่ไม่โปร่งใส จากการศึกษาพบว่าอาชญนิยายเรื่อง The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2005) ของ สตีก ลาร์สสัน (Stieg Larsson) และ The Fifth Woman (1996) ของ เฮนนิง มานเคลล์ (Henning Mankell) ได้เผยให้เห็นถึงปัญหาความรุนแรงที่ผู้ชายเป็นฝ่ายกระทำต่อผู้หญิง และนำเสนอความพยายามในการตอบโต้ความรุนแรงของผู้หญิงด้วยเช่นกัน อาชญนิยายเรื่อง The Redbreast (2000) ของ ยู เนสเบอ (Jo Nesbø) นำเสนอความกังวลเกี่ยวกับความบริสุทธิ์ทางชาติพันธุ์ ในรูปของชาวต่างชาติที่จะเข้ามาคุกคามและทำลายอัตลักษณ์ของประเทศ และ The Snowman (2007) ของ เนสเบอ สะท้อนให้เห็นถึงความกังวลเกี่ยวกับความบริสุทธิ์ทางชาติพันธุ์ของมนุษย์ที่พันธุกรรมหรือดีเอ็นเอแปลกปลอมในระดับครอบครัวกำลังเข้ามาคุกคามความเป็นระบบของสังคม ส่วนการตีแผ่การทำงานของรัฐบาลที่ไม่โปร่งใสสะท้อนผ่านตัว บทเรื่อง The Redbreast ที่นำเสนอการปกปิดอดีตในช่วงสงครามโลกครั้งที่สองของรัฐบาล และละครโทรทัศน์เรื่อง The Killing (ภาค 2) (2009) ของ เซอเรน สไวสตรูป (Søren Sveistrup) ที่นำเสนอการปกปิดเหตุการณ์ความรุนแรงในการสังหารหมู่ครอบครัวชาวอัฟกานิสถานในสงครามต่อต้านการก่อการร้ายในตะวันออกกลางของรัฐบาล |
| Other Abstract: | Scandinavian countries may appear to be peaceful and harmonious; however, Scandinavian crime fiction does expose the social problems and anxieties that exist within these countries. Crime fiction has always served to reflect the social concerns of the different time periods and social contexts. Thus the selected Scandinavian crime fiction also reveals the social problems and anxieties that permeate the contemporary Scandinavian society. These problems and anxieties are the violence against women, the anxiety about racial purity, and the concern regarding governmental transparency. This thesis shows that Stieg Larsson’s The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2005) and Henning Mankell’s The Fifth Woman (1996) expose the violence against women that continues to be a problem in Scandinavian society, but both novels also represent the female protagonists’ attempt to retaliate against patriarchal oppression. Jo Nesbø’s The Redbreast (2000) and The Snowman (2007) depict the anxiety about racial purity. Foreigners are seen in The Redbreast as a threat against national identity, while The Snowman portrays the disruption of the social order due to the DNA contamination at the family level. Finally, The Redbreast and the TV Series The Killing (season 2) touch upon the issue of governmental corruption. The Norwegian government attempts to cover up their own actions during World War II in The Redbreast. Similarly, The Killing also depicts how the Danish government tries to cover up the mass murder of Afghan civilians by its special officer in the War on Terror. |
