| dc.description.abstract | การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีจุดมุ่งหมาย เพื่อศึกษาการใช้ทรัพยากรห้องสมุด ตลอดจนปัญหาความความต้องการ และความคิดเห็นและข้อเสนอแนะในการใช้ทรัพยากรห้องสมุดของคณาจารย์ทางด้านสังคมศาสตร์ เพื่อประกอบการสอน โดยนำผลการวิจัยมาเป็นแนวทางในการปรับปรุงทรัพยากรห้องสมุด เพื่อสนองความต้องการของคณาจารย์ให้มีประสิทธิภาพมากยิ่งขึ้น ในการดำเนินการวิจัย ได้ส่งแบบสอบถามถึงคณาจารย์ทางด้านสังคมศาสตร์ อันได้แก่ คณาจารย์คณะเศรษฐศาสตร์และบริหารธุรกิจ คณะศึกษาศาสตร์ และคณะสังคมศาสตร์ รวม 230 ชุด ได้รับแบบสอบถามกลับคืนมา 191 คิดเป็นร้อยละ 83.04 ของแบบสอบถามที่แจกไป ผลการวิจัยสรุปได้ว่า คณาจารย์ที่เคยใช้สำนักหอสมุดมีทั้งหมด 122 คน คิดเป็นร้อยละ 63.87 และคณาจารย์ที่ไม่เคยใช้มีทั้งหมด 69 คน คิดเป็นร้อยละ 36.13 คณาจารย์ที่ไม่เคยใช้สำนักหอสมุดจะใช้ห้องสมุดคณะเพื่อประกอบการสอนเป็นส่วนใหญ่ และให้เหตุผลสำคัญในการไม่ใช้ว่า ใช้หนังสือส่วนตัว รองลงมา ทรัพยากรห้องสมุดมีไม่ตรงกับความต้องการ สำหรับคณาจารย์ที่เคยใช้ส่วนใหญ่จะใช้สำนักหอสมุด 2-3 เดือน ต่อครั้ง โดยมีจุดมุ่งหมายส่วนใหญ่เพื่อใช้บริการจ่าย-รับ และวิธีค้นหาทรัพยากรห้องสมุดส่วนใหญ่ค้นจากตู้บัตรรายการ ในด้านการใช้ทรัพยากรห้องสมุดประเภทต่าง ๆ เพื่อประกอบการสอนโดยเฉลี่ยใช้หนังสือภาษาอังกฤษมากที่สุด ในระดับปานกลาง ทรัพยากรห้องสมุดที่ใช้ในระดับน้อย คือ หนังสือภาษาไทย วารสาร วิทยานิพนธ์ สิ่งพิมพ์รัฐบาล และจุลสาร ส่วนทรัพยากรห้องสมุดที่คณาจารย์ส่วนใหญ่ไม่เคยใช้ ได้แก่ หนังสืออ้างอิง หนังสือพิมพ์ และโสตทัศนวัสดุ เกี่ยวกับความเพียงพอของทรัพยากรห้องสมุดคณาจารย์ทางด้านสังคมศาสตร์เห็นว่าไม่เพียงพอทุกประเภท ยกเว้น หนังสือพิมพ์ เมื่อจำแนกการใช้ตามหมวดวิชาใหญ่ ๆ ปรากฏว่า ในหมวดสังคมศาสตร์คณาจารย์ส่วนใหญ่ใช้ทรัพยากรในสาขาเศรษฐศาสตร์ ในหมวดมนุษยศาสตร์ใช้สาขาปรัชญา ศาสนา และในหมวดวิทยาศาสตร์และเทคโนโลยี ใช้สาขาสถิติ ปัญหาที่คณาจารย์ส่วนใหญ่ประสบในการใช้ทรัพยากรห้องสมุดประเภทหนังสือ หนังสืออ้างอิง วารสาร และสิ่งพิมพ์รัฐบาล ได้แก่ ปัญหาด้านเนื้อหา เช่น ทรัพยากรชื่อเรื่องที่ต้องการ ไม่มีในห้องสมุด ปัญหาด้านความเพียงพอ เช่น ทรัพยากรชื่อเรื่องที่ต้องการมีน้อยฉบับ และทรัพยากรในสาขาวิชาที่สอนมีจำนวนน้อย และปัญหาด้านความทันสมัย เช่น ทรัพยากรเก่า ล้าสมัย นอกจากนี้ยังประสบปัญหาไม่มีรายชื่อวิทยานิพนธ์ของสถาบันอื่น ๆ โสตทัศนวัสดุในสาขาวิชาที่สอนมีน้อย และปัญหาในการใช้สำนักหอสมุดคือ สำนักหอสมุดมีอากาศร้อนอบอ้าว ความต้องการของคณาจารย์ในด้านการจัดหาทรัพยากรในสาขาวิชาต่าง ๆ พบว่า คณาจารย์คณะเศรษฐศาสตร์ฯ ต้องการทรัพยากรในสาขาเศรษฐศาสตร์ สาขาบริหารธุรกิจ และสาขาการเงินการบัญชี คณาจารย์คณะศึกษาศาสตร์ต้องการในสาขาการศึกษา สาขาพลศึกษา และสาขาจิตวิทยา คณาจารย์คณะสังคมศาสตร์ต้องการในสาขาสังคมวิทยา สาขาจิตวิทยา สาขารัฐศาสตร์ และสาขามานุษยวิทยา นอกจากนี้ คณาจารย์ทางด้านสังคมศาสตร์ยังมีความต้องการในการใช้ทรัพยากรห้องสมุดเกือบทุกประเภท ความต้องการที่มีระดับสูงมากกว่าความต้องการอื่น ๆ คือ ความต้องการให้สำนักหอสมุดส่งรายชื่อหนังสือใหม่ของสำนักพิมพ์ต่าง ๆ ให้พิจารณาเลือกซื้อ ความต้องการมีส่วนร่วมในการเสนอชื่อหนังสือที่ต้องการ ความต้องการในการส่งรายชื่อหนังสือใหม่แจ้งแก่อาจารย์ และให้ส่งข่าวสารห้องสมุดไปตามภาควิชาเป็นประจำ ข้อเสนอแนะ 1. ควรหาวิธีที่ทำให้คณาจารย์มาใช้สำนักหอสมุดให้มากขึ้น โดยร่วมมือกับคณะต่าง ๆ ในการจัดหาทรัพยากรห้องสมุดให้เหมาะสมขึ้น เช่น หลีกเลี่ยงการจัดหาทรัพยากรที่ซ้ำซ้อนกับห้องสมุดคณะ และจัดหาทรัพยากรที่สามารถใช้ร่วมกันได้หลายคณะ 2. ควรเน้นการประชาสัมพันธ์ให้กว้างขวางมากขึ้น โดยผ่านทางข่าวสารห้องสมุดเพื่อให้คณาจารย์ได้ใช้ทรัพยากรห้องสมุดทุกประเภท และได้รับประโยชน์อย่างคุ้มค่า 3. ควรจัดแบ่งงบประมาณในการในการจัดซื้อทรัพยากรประเภทต่าง ๆ ให้ได้สัดส่วนสมดุลกับความต้องการของคณาจารย์ทางด้านสังคมศาสตร์ในแต่ละสาขาวิชา รวมทั้งจัดหาทรัพยากรที่ทันสมัย และทันต่อเหตุการณ์ 4. ควรจัดเก็บรายชื่อวิทยานิพนธ์ของสถาบันอื่น ๆ ไว้ในห้องวิทยานิพนธ์โดยเฉพาะเพื่อให้ผู้ใช้เข้าถึงรายชื่อเหล่านั้น รวมทั้งรายชื่อของทรัพยากรประเภทต่าง ๆ เพื่อให้ผู้ต้องการใช้สามารถติดตามได้ 5. ควรจัดซื้อโสตทัศนวัสดุ โดยปรึกษาหรือขอความร่วมมือจากอาจารย์ประจำภาควิชาต่าง ๆ และควรจัดกิจกรรม และจัดนิทรรศการเกี่ยวเกี่ยวกับโสตทัศนวัสดุเพื่อการประชาสัมพันธ์ให้ผู้มาใช้โสตทัศนวัสดุมากขึ้น 6. คณาจารย์ควรแสดงความสนใจอย่างจริงจัง ในการร่วมมือกับภาควิชาของตน ในการเสนอรายชื่อทรัพยากรห้องสมุดประเภทต่าง ๆ แก่สำนักหอสมุดและควรเสนอแนะโดยทั่วถึงกันทั้งนี้เพื่อป้องกันการมีทรัพยากรเฉพาะสาขาใดสาขาหนึ่งมากเกินไป | - |
| dc.description.abstractalternative | The purposes of this research are studying members in the utilization 0f library resources for teaching by the faculty members in the Social Sciences of Kasetsart University, and investigating into such problems as user information seeking behavior. User needs as well as user expectation of informational resources to be provided by the main library in support of their instructional processes. Research results will be potentially used for the formulation of the library resources development policy at Kasetsart University Main library. Questionnaires were distributed to 230 faculty members from Economics, Education and Social Sciences Faculty 83.04 percent or 191 questionnaires were completed and returned. Findings revealed that the actual users comprised 122 or 63.87 percent of the total respondents and 69 or 36.13 percent were counted as non-user. The reasons can be operationally explained that most of the non-users depended upon the faculty libraries and their personal collections when searching for materials for course preparation. Others considered the resources available at the Main Library were irrelevant to their needs. A majority of the actual users used the Main Library once every few months to borrow books, searched the main catalog primarily for needed items, and used various types of materials. In preparation for courses, English textbooks were used mostly in the contrary of Thai books, periodicals, thesis, government documents and vertical files. Reference books, newspapers and audio-visual materials were never used by most of the faculty members. Most of the actual users considered all types of library resources in the social sciences at the main library inadequately accessible. In analyzing into particular subjects of the social sciences the data illustrated that the faculty members used mostly economics literature. For humanities subjects, the faculty members used mostly philosophy and religion literature. And, for the science and technology subjects, the faculty members used mostly statistical literature. Problems facing most faculty members in using textbooks, reference books, periodicals and government documents are critical in terms of subject contests and needed titles not available in the main library. Certain resources useful for courses in the social sciences are very limited in number. Thesis lists of other institutions as well as audio-visual materials are not completely available. The faculty found the main library to be very hot and uncomfortable. In surveying user needs, it was found that members of the faculty of Economics needed resources in the fields of economics, business administration, and finance and accounting. Members of the Faculty of Education needed resources in education, physical education and psychology. The Social Science faculty needed resources in sociology, psychology political science and anthropology. The faculty needs of other library services are that circulation of publishers’ catalogs, monthly libraries accession lists and library newsletters. Recommendations 1. Centralized resources acquisition should be administered in order that resources provided cover adequate and appropriate subjects, avoid duplicated copies hence more effective resource sharing. 2. Emphasis on public relation through library newsletter should be promoted to create awareness among the faculty members of library activities and that resources can be used cost effectively. 3. Funds for acquising up to-date and relevant material should be given balanced weight in relation to the allocation of material on other subjects. 4. Thesis lists and bibliographies hold by other institutions should be provided for easy access to all users. 5. Audio-visual material should be provided according to faculty’s recommendation. Exhibition as well as displays of audio-visual equipment should be presented and publized to attract wider range of users. 6. Action on all-faculty-equal participation in selection process of library resources should be taken more actively. | - |
