| Abstract: | ความมุ่งหมาย การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์ที่จะศึกษาความสนใจและความต้องการของนักเรียนชั้นประถมศึกษาตอนปลายเกี่ยวกับหนังสืออ่านประเภทต่างๆ เท่าที่มีอยู่ในท้องตลาด ทั้งนี้ เพื่อต้องการทราบว่าหนังสือประเภทใดที่นักเรียนเคยอ่าน ชอบอ่าน ต้องการอ่าน และต้องการให้มีในห้องสมุด และเพื่อศึกษาเกี่ยวกับปัญหาในการอ่านของนักเรียน วิธีการดำเนินการวิจัย ผู้วิจัยได้ส่งแบบสอบถามเกี่ยวกับความสนใจและความต้องการในการอ่านของนักเรียนชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 5-7 ในโรงเรียนสังกัดกรมสามัญศึกษา และองค์การบริหารส่วนจังหวัดทั่วประเทศ 12 เขตการศึกษา จำนวน 24 โรง โดยสุ่มตัวอย่างมาเขตละ 2 โรง ส่งแบบสอบถามไปยังนักเรียน 2,880 ฉบับ จำนวนนักเรียนที่ส่งคำตอบคืนมา 2,159 เป็นนักเรียนชาย 1,133 คน และนักเรียนหญิง 1,026 คน และนำคำตอบของนักเรียนมาแจกแจงความถี่คิดเป็นร้อยละ จำแนกเป็นเขตและเพศ และทดสอบค่าไคสแควร์เพื่อเปรียบเทียบความแตกต่างระหว่างเพศของนักเรียนที่ตอบคำถามทั้งหมด ผลการวิจัย 1. สรุปได้ว่าจำนวนนักเรียนสูงสุดที่ตอบคำถามเคยอ่าน ชอบอ่าน ต้องการอ่าน เพิ่มเติม และต้องการให้ห้องสมุดมีหนังสือต่างๆ ดังนี้ 1.1 จำนวนนักเรียนทั้งสองเพศร้อยละ 88.04 เคยอ่านหนังสือพิมพ์รายวัน 1.2 จำนวนนักเรียนทั้งสองเพศร้อยละ 79.92 ชอบอ่านหนังสือพิมพ์รายวัน 1.3 จำนวนนักเรียนทั้งสองเพศร้อยละ 61.12 ต้องการอ่านเรื่องจรวด และยานอวกาศเพิ่มขึ้น จำนวนนักเรียนหญิงมากกว่านักเรียนชายอย่างมีนัยสำคัญที่ระดับ .05 ต้องการอ่านเรื่องทรัพยากรธรรมชาติเพิ่มขึ้น 1.4 จำนวนนักเรียนทั้งสองเพศร้อยละ 78.00 ต้องการให้ห้องสมุดมีหนังสือพิมพ์รายวัน 2. หนังสือที่นักเรียนอ่านและเข้าใจได้ดีที่สุด 5 ประเภทแรก ดังนี้ จำนวนนักเรียนร้อยละ 37.53 อ่านและเข้าใจหนังสือการ์ตูน จำนวนนักเรียนร้อยละ 31.59 อ่านและเข้าใจหนังสือพิมพ์รายวัน จำนวนนักเรียนร้อยละ 29.43 อ่านและเข้าใจหนังสือนิทาน จำนวนนักเรียนร้อยละ 28.18 อ่านและเข้าใจหนังสือที่มีภาพประกอบ จำนวนนักเรียนร้อยละ 22.95 อ่านและเข้าใจหนังสือนวนิยาย 3. บริการหรือส่งเสริมการอ่านที่นักเรียนได้รับมี ดังนี้ 3.1 จำนวนนักเรียนร้อยละ 62.75 ได้ไปใช้บริการของห้องสมุดโรงเรียน เป็นจำนวนนักเรียนหญิงมากกว่านักเรียนชาย อย่างมีนัยสำคัญที่ระดับ .05 3.2 จำนวนนักเรียนร้อยละ 54.24 ได้รับการสนับสนุนจากผู้ปกครองด้วยการที่ผู้ปกครองแจกเงินให้ซื้อหนังสือ เป็นจำนวนนักเรียนหญิงมากกว่านักเรียนชายอย่างมีนัยสำคัญที่ระดับ .05 3.3จำนวนนักเรียนร้อยละ 55.06 เคยซื้อหนังสืออ่านเอง เป็นจำนวนนักเรียนมากกว่านักเรียนชายอย่างมีนัยสำคัญที่ระดับ .05 สรุปได้ว่านักเรียนหญิงมีโอกาสในการอ่านสูงกว่านักเรียนชาย 4. จำนวนนักเรียนที่สามารถอ่านหนังสือได้เข้าใจดีมีเพียงร้อยละ 22.80 ซึ่งหมายความว่า ส่วนใหญ่อ่านแล้วไม่เข้าใจเท่าทีควร ปัญหาใหญ่ที่ค้นพบ คือจำนวนนักเรียนร้อยละ 33.55 ไม่มีความสงบขณะที่อ่าน ซึ่งเป็นจำนวนนักเรียนหญิงมากกว่านักเรียนชายอย่างมีนัยสำคัญที่ระดับ .05 และจำนวนนักเรียนร้อยละ 31.63 ไม่สบายเพราะปวดศีรษะขณะอ่านหนังสือ เนื่องจากการส่งเสริมการอ่านจากโรงเรียน บ้าน และตัวนักเรียนเองมีไม่มากนัก ฉะนั้น ครูและผู้ปกครอง จึงควรให้การสนับสนุนและปรับปรุงกระบวนการเรียนการอ่าน รวมทั้งปรับปรุงบริการการอ่านให้กว้างขวางและจริงจังกว่าที่เป็นอยู่ขณะนี้ |
| Other Abstract: | Objectives The purposes of this research were to study the needs and interests of pupils in the intermediate grades in reading as to which kinds of books and materials they had read, enjoyed reading wanted to read more and to see if there were any pro¬blems concerning the pupils' reading. Morever, this research attempted to show what books and materials Needed to be availa¬ble in the school libraries. Method. Data were obtained by distribution of a set of question¬naires to 2159 pupils (1133 boys and 1026 girls) in Twenty four schools under the Department of General Education and Provincial Administrative Organization, two schools were randomly selectod from each of the twelve educational regions. Treatment of the data was done successfully by using percentages and x² tests. Results 1. The percentages of pupils who had read, enjoyed reading, wanted to read more and what books and materials needed to be available in the school libraries were as follows: 1.1 88.04 % had read daily newspapers. 1.2 79.92 % enjoyed reading daily newspapers. 1.3. 61.12 % wanted to read more about rockets and space carriers, and also about national resources (more girls than boys, so sex was significant at the .05 level.) 1.4 78.00 % needed daily newspapers to be available in the school libraries. 2. The five kinds of materials that the pupils could read and understand the best were as follows: A. 37.53 % of boys and girls who could read and understand comic books. B. 31.59 % of boys and girls who could read and understand daily newspapers. C. 29.43 % of boys and girls who could read and understand folk tales. D. 28.18 % of boys and girls who could read and understand pictorial books. E.22.99 % of boys and girls who could read and 'understand fictions. 3. The percentages of pupils who indicated the origins of the books and materials that they had were as follows: 3.1 62.75 % had chosen reading books and printed materials from the school libraries (more girls than boys, so sex was significant at the .05 level) 3.2 54.24 % had their parents giving them money for buying books (more girls than boys, so sex was significant at the .05 level). 3.3 55.06 % bought books by themselves (more girls than boys, so sex was significant at the .05 level). It is noticeable that girls read more than boys. 4. 22.80 % of boys and girls could understand the books which they had read. This means that most of them could not understand what they had read as well as they should have. The major problems they encountered were that 33.55 % of them did not have quietness while they read, and 31.33 % of them had headaches while reading. Since the pupils received such limited reading experience at school and at home, more reading encouragement should be provided for them by both their teachers and parents. |
