| Abstract: | การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ (1) ศึกษาความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างความเข้าใจสัมพันธภาพในข้อความและความสามารถในการอ่านเพื่อความเข้าใจภาษาอังกฤษของนักศึกษาชั้นปีที่หนึ่ง ระดับปริญญาตรี ในมหาวิทยาลัยเอกชน กรุงเทพมหานคร (2) ศึกษาความเข้าใจสัมพันธภาพในข้อความของนักศึกษาชั้นปีที่หนึ่ง ระดับปริญญาตรีในมหาวิทยาลัยเอกชน กรุงเทพมหานคร และ (3) ศึกษาความสามารถในการอ่านเพื่อความเข้าใจภาษาอังกฤษของนักศึกษาชั้นปีที่หนึ่ง ระดับปริญญาตรีในมหาวิทยาลัยเอกชน กรุงเทพมหานคร ผู้วิจัยได้สร้างแบบสอบ 2 ฉบับ ฉบับที่ 1 เป็นแบบสอบวัดความเข้าใจสัมพันธภาพในข้อความ ฉบับที่ 2 เป็นแบบสอบวัดความสามารถในการอ่านเพื่อความเข้าใจภาษาอังกฤษ แบบสอบทั้ง 2 ฉบับได้รับการตรวจสอบความตรงตามเนื้อหาจากผู้ทรงคุณวุฒิด้านการสอนภาษาอังกฤษจำนวน 4 ท่าน และได้รับการวิเคราะห์หาค่าความยาก ค่าอำนาจจำแนกและค่าความเที่ยง จากนั้น ผู้วิจัยได้นำแบบสอบไปทดสอบกับกลุ่มตัวอย่างประชากรซึ่งเป็นนักศึกษาชั้นปีที่หนึ่ง ระดับปริญญาตรีทุกคณะในมหาวิทยาลัยเอกชน กรุงเทพมหานคร จำนวน 483 คน แล้วนำคะแนนที่ได้มาวิเคราะห์หาค่าร้อยละ ค่ามัชฌิมเลขคณิต ค่าส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน และค่าสัมประสิทธิ์สหสัมพันธ์ ผลของการวิจัยสรุปได้ดังนี้ 1. ความเข้าใจสัมพันธภาพในข้อความมีความสัมพันธ์กับความสามารถในการอ่านเพื่อความเข้าใจภาษาอังกฤษของนักศึกษาชั้นปีที่หนึ่ง ระดับปริญญาตรีในมหาวิทยาลัยเอกชน กรุงเทพมหานครในทางบวก โดยมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .001 2. ค่ามัชฌิมเลขคณิตของคะแนนความเข้าใจสัมพันธภาพในข้อความของนักศึกษา คิดเป็นร้อยละ 46.59 ของคะแนนเต็ม และประเภทของสัมพันธภาพในข้อความที่นักศึกษาทำได้ถูกต้องเกินกว่าร้อยละ 50 คือ สัมพันธภาพในข้อความประเภทการแสดงเหตุ-ผล และการแสดงเวลา 3. ค่ามัชฌิมเลขคณิตของคะแนนความสามารถในการอ่านเพื่อความเข้าใจภาษาอังกฤษของนักศึกษาคิดเป็นร้อยละ 47.29 ของคะแนนเต็ม |
| Other Abstract: | This study was conducted in order to study : (1) The relationship between understanding of coherence and reading comprehension ability in English of the first year undergraduate students in private universities, Bangkok Metropolis, (2) the ability in understanding of coherence of the first year undergraduate students in private universities, Bangkok Metropolis, and (3) the reading comprehension ability in English of the first year undergraduate students in private universities, Bangkok Metropolis. Two tests were devised by the researcher in an attempt to measure understanding of coherence and reading comprehension ability in English. The content validity was examined by four experts in the field of English teaching, and the level of difficulty, the power of discrimination, and the reliability of the tests were statistically analysed. The subjects used in the study were 483 undergraduate students from all faculties in private universities, Bangkok Metropolis. The data collected were calculated to determine the percentage, the arithmetic mean, the standard deviation, and the simple correlation coefficient. Analysis of the data revealed that : 1. The simple correlation coefficient between understanding of coherence and reading comprehension ability in English of the first year undergraduate students in private universities, Bangkok Metropolis was positive and significant at the .001 level; 2. The students’ mean score of understanding of coherence was 46.59 by percent, and the types of coherence in the test that most students did correctly more than 50 percent were the cause/effect relationship, and the time relationship; 3. The students’ mean score of reading comprehension ability in English was 47.29 by percent. |
